Due November 2021 - thread 2!

Following on from the first thread which is nearly full, here we are with another thread to keep us going through the first trimester and beyond.

Welcome Smile. I'm Alack, currently 8+something with twins, due 2 November but likely to make an early appearance. Also have DD (3).

Currently on the group we mostly seem to be food-averse insomniacs who just want a nap, so here's hoping for some pregnancy glow! Grin And less anxiety as the weeks go on.

@Sandia3
I completely understand where you're coming from. The thought of the sickness lasting the entire pregnancy is too much to bear.
I'm just counting down until the end of the first trimester.

happygolucky20 · 16/04/2021 12:23

Hi all

I can really relate to the sickness, I am getting quite down about it but trying so hard not to as I i have wanted to be pregnant for so long and I know this is just part of. I have been ok these past two weeks as I’ve been off work and able to be sick when I need to be and, if I’m honest, cry and be pathetic about it too, but can anyone offer any tips on how you handle the sickness in an office? I told everyone I was pregnant last time and then suffered a mc so really wanted to keep it private until 15 weeks (not sure why I picked 15 but hey ho!) but how when I feel sick 24/7 and am sick if I can’t find the right food quick enough. I have also quite clearly got quite a bloat going on 😂

happygolucky20 · 16/04/2021 12:26

Also can’t even begin to think of this lasting the whole 9 months !!! My DH commented last night that he can’t wait for 12 weeks to have his wife back 😂😂 I’m in bed by 7:30 as I’m shattered and it’s closer to the loo for the night sickness, also away from him when he is eating dinner as his food is too colourful it makes me 🤮

Sandia3 · 16/04/2021 12:51

@happygolucky20 I loved when you said about crying and being pathetic about it all. That’s also me every evening sat on the bathroom floor.

Another concern about going to an office for me is to actually have a wee accident while being sick as it happens at home most of the times...

I am lucky enough to have my own business so I have decided to not to go to the office until this is over.

@heartandheart Yes, counting the days for the 12 weeks mark! Also, with my other two sickness was so little, just sometimes in the day and def didn’t start until later. This time at 5 weeks!

Oh well, we need to consider ourselves very lucky for being cooking a gorgeous baby!

Needingsupportplease · 16/04/2021 16:38

Midwife just rang me to have the initial chat and get me on the system shes ringing me back next week for the proper booking app. 3 days until my scan now... just want to know if baby is ok! Glad to see so many positive scans but sorry so many of you feel so crap. I dont really have any symptoms apart from been wiped out 24/7! Take care all x

Katy4321 · 16/04/2021 17:38

@scandia3 thank you it is good to hear of others where things have gone OK. It is easy to focus on the negative, even when it is more likely to be positive.

So sorry you are having such a rubbish time, hopefully it will start to get better soon. With my very little experience I don't have answers, but from what I've read and friends who have had difficult times, it more likely than not gets better over time.

@Heartandheart thank you. Yes neither I or my partner have children already, so this is all new to us, and not even nieces or nephews. Still don't feel grown up enough!
How about you, do you have children already?

heartandheart · 16/04/2021 18:32

It feels so exciting having the appointments doesn't it?! I can't wait for my scan. I haven't got a date for it yet but have half of my booking appointment next week.

I've been put on prochlorperazine now. Does anyone have any experience with this?
It's knocked me out this afternoon! I'm hoping I get used to it and it'll make me less drowsy or I can't see how I can go to work that sleepy!

@Katy4321 I have a little boy who is 19 months. It's been very hard looking after him this week. I'm lucky DH is working from home or I don't know what I would have done!

Girlmama3 · 16/04/2021 19:26

Hi everyone 😀 I had my phone booking in appointment yesterday. I’ve got to have blood taken on Sunday and then I’ll get my scan date!

I’m 9+5 now. I want to keep it quiet for a few more weeks after my scan. I hate fuss!!

Sarahspeedy87 · 16/04/2021 20:56

Hiya, I hope you don’t mind I joined the Facebook group as I prefer that platform. This is my 2nd baby, 8+1 so I’m due the end of the month. I have a little boy who is 2 and the Facebook group helped so much last time. Look forward to chatting to you all

vixey · 17/04/2021 14:26

my 12 week scan is in 13 days, daft that I know how many days but it just makes me feel like it is getting closer even if it doesn't seem like it. I'm so nervous. i knew someone a few years ago who had a mmc and she literally had no idea, and im so scared that's happening to me.
nothing in my life has ever gone as planned. I've basically had such an awful upbringing, being abused and bullied at school, that was so long ago but it still plays on my mind. I've been married for 3 years, things are good, and now I'm pregnant it just feels like this is too good to be true, like it's all gonna get taken away from me at any moment. xxxx

ShutUpAlex · 17/04/2021 14:53

My booking in appointment was over 2 weeks ago now and I still haven’t had my scan date through. Had everyone else had there’s?

Randomness12 · 17/04/2021 16:36

I had my booking appt last week and bloods this week and got my scan letter a couple of days later @ShutUpAlex. It’s not until 10th May which just feels like a lifetime away so I’ve booked a private scan for next Sunday when I’ll hopefully be 10+4 to break up the time. Plus my DH can come to that one but not the NHS one so will be good for him to see baby all being well.

The nausea is ridiculous. I had a really full on day in the office yesterday and I’ve basically been in bed ever since. My DD is being so patient with me bless her.

How do I join the fb group please?

AlackAlasAlackaday · 17/04/2021 16:44

randomness it’s called The Tea Room and has a pic of a small white dog on a sofa - long story 😁 Let me know if you can’t find it and I’ll try fish around for a link.

Thanks, I’ve found it 😊

Katy4321 · 17/04/2021 19:34

@vixey sorry you are feeling so worried. I have been very anxious about things to and easy to become focused on negative possibilities, but there is a good possibility that things go smoothly or the issues are things that you can overcome. I spoke to a counsellor last week which really helped, and she told me to try and disrupt the negative thoughts and challenge them - said it is a really powerful way help with anxiety - and I think it has helped a bit. It sounds like you have had some absolutely awful experiences, but hope you start feeling better soon and wonderful that you have a good dp and hopefully some magical times ahead :) x

vixey · 17/04/2021 22:51

@katy4321
yeah, that's what I've been taught to do in the past, but this is so big and its so much responsibility on just me and my body and that's alot to have on my mind. I'm just counting down the days and trying to distract myself everytime I start feeling anxious and panicky xxx

Hannahb26 · 18/04/2021 19:49

Any teachers out there a bit nervous about being back at school tomorrow?! 😂 don't know how I'm going to get through the day without a nap. So glad my scan is on Friday so I can start telling people after that!

pineapple2021 · 18/04/2021 20:28

@Hannahb26 yep!! Dreading how ill stay awake/ not be wretching through lessons!!

Needingsupportplease · 18/04/2021 20:51

Yep. Been back a week, also more scared of covid, if my scan is well think I'll tell my boss so they can do a ra. Scan day tomorrow.. 🤞

KimF64 · 19/04/2021 10:49

Anyone else really struggling with excess saliva? Any tips on how to cope with it? Making me feel so sick all day long :(

ShutUpAlex · 19/04/2021 11:57

Yes I keep choking on spit!

babynov · 19/04/2021 15:57

Hi all.

Need to be taken off the list for this one sadly.

Has anyone had to have remains removed surgically and gone on to get pregnant again?

Best of luck to everyone and lots of love for November!

Maya000 · 19/04/2021 16:25

@babynov First of all, I am genuinely really sorry to hear about your loss. I hope you are okay and have a supportive bubble of family/friends around you. I had to opt for a surgical option (as a last resort) after 3 months of on/off bleeding after a mmc at 13 weeks. I had this done in November last year. I was told to wait 3 cycles before ttc again. I have heard/read many times you are more fertile after a mc and it appears to be true for a few of my friends that managed to get pregnant straight away. Hope you get some good news soon! Most importantly, take care of yourself and wishing you all the best! xx

babynov · 19/04/2021 16:28

@Maya000 thank you. I keep reading stories where they have caused scarring / infertility so am terrifying myself I've missed my only chance.
