Due November 2021 - thread 2!

AlackAlasAlackaday · 25/03/2021 08:15

Following on from the first thread which is nearly full, here we are with another thread to keep us going through the first trimester and beyond.

Welcome Smile. I'm Alack, currently 8+something with twins, due 2 November but likely to make an early appearance. Also have DD (3).

Currently on the group we mostly seem to be food-averse insomniacs who just want a nap, so here's hoping for some pregnancy glow! Grin And less anxiety as the weeks go on.

thanks @happygolucky20
that's reassuring. I'm sure I'm worrying about nothing but its easier than done isn't it.
xxx

pineapple2021 · 13/04/2021 22:07

@vixey I'm totally with you..... I'm only 7 weeks and had private scan on sat but I think it calmed me for a day and I now worry again that I feel fine or if I get a stitch or something it's bad. It's such a pain!

vixey · 13/04/2021 22:47

@pineapple2021
I kinda feel like it's ruining the pregnancy for me. I've wanted it for so long and I'm worried all the time it just feels miserable. xxx

heartandheart · 13/04/2021 23:17

Hi everyone,
Just found this thread and have had a scan through at all your lovely news! It's a long one though so haven't manage to read it all.

Congrats to all those that have had successful scans! I can't wait for mine.

I'm 32 and 7+4 with my second baby :). Due end of November.

AlackAlasAlackaday · 14/04/2021 11:39

Welcome heart!

Congrats @heartandheart! Counting away to my scan too at 8+4 (although I havent yet have any appointment dates). How old is DC1 and how are you holding up?

Kimblebee19 · 14/04/2021 18:40

(By that I mean I am currently 8+4 and looking ahead to the 12 week scan very impatiently )

Hannahb26 · 14/04/2021 18:50

Evening all 😊 happy hump day! It seems I've made it to 11 weeks (although petrified of MMC trying not to think about it too much). Already in crop top style bras as the boobs are HUGE 😂 no belly yet but bloated in the evenings. Starting to think about maternity clothes - has anyone got any suggestions? Hope you're all ok xxx

Randomness12 · 14/04/2021 18:59

@Hannahb26 I’ve just done a huge order from H&M. I’m 9 weeks today but this is my second and I am already having to unbutton my trousers at work and by the time I get home it’s stretchy waistbands only. They have a wide range and all really affordable particularly as you’ll probably need to re-buy again as you get closer to the end as the clothes you buy “massive” now very quickly no longer fit! Well that was my experience anyway!

I find maternity ranges in store really poor so order loads online and choose what I like.

I’m really struggling with the nausea today, it’s been relentless again. Have a date for my 12 week scan now tho, 10th May when I’ll hopefully be 12+5.

vixey · 14/04/2021 19:19

I've found things are getting tight and I'm wearing sports bras coz I have absolutely no idea how to go about going up a couple of sizes.
I've bought some bigger leggings and pjs so far, i practically live in jeans but can't find decent maternity ones so I'll be screwed when I cant wear my size 18s anymore.
anybody else think all maternity clothes should be cheaper because they are only for short term use. xxx

Randomness12 · 14/04/2021 20:16

I agree @vixey! I also much preferred under bump trousers and jeans last time but they are so hard to find!

You can buy bra strap extenders which I liked last time, gave me a bit more wiggle room until they’d settled a bit and were more of a standard size rather than the daily fluctuations of b cup to d cup I’m getting now 😂

heartandheart · 14/04/2021 20:30

@Kimblebee19

Congrats *@heartandheart*! Counting away to my scan too at 8+4 (although I havent yet have any appointment dates). How old is DC1 and how are you holding up?
DS is 19 months and I'm not going to lie, it's been a struggle! I thought it was hard the first time around and that was without a toddler! How are you doing?
heartandheart · 14/04/2021 20:31

I can't WAIT to wear maternity leggings and jeans again. Surely that's one of the best parts right? So comfy!

Maya000 · 15/04/2021 08:34

@vixey I struggled finding comfortable maternity leggings/Jeans during the previous pregnancy. I just went up a few sizes in the standard range at M & S. Both their leggings and jeggings were really comfortable and wash well. I still have them

Congratulation to all those that have recently joined. I have got my booking appt/bloods today!

@DizSquiz hope you managed to arrange your appt

monnis · 15/04/2021 09:21

Hi everyone. Just been for my scan. Everything going well, so far so good. So relieved!

Sandia3 · 15/04/2021 17:20

@monnis Glad your scan went well. I was reading
everyday until the sickness got too much for me. I am struggling with feeling sick all day long, specially in the evenings. Thursday trimestre and worst one so far Sad. Doesn’t it make you feel so low?

Can not wait until the first trimester is over.

I have just booked a NIPT, Vanadis. Any one else having a private NIPT?

Wishing you all a settled stomach for the evening!

Sandia3 · 15/04/2021 17:27
**@Savvy2021 hi. With my first i had such bad sickness and nausea until 16 weeks. Now with my second it started earlier (5 weeks instead of 6). I've been crying every single day as have bad nausea morning, noon and night. Started actually being sick in the past week too. However I was prescribed cyclizine on Friday and dare I say I actually feel a bit better.. not been sick since taking it and even managed a maccies breakfast today. Not healthy but the fact i ate something more than 2 mouthfuls of something plain was something

I'm only 8 weeks today so it shouldn't really be easing off for me and I'm sure in a few days I'll be upset that its back. But my point is if you're feeling nauseous all day long it really is debilitating and it would be worth speaking to the GP to see if they can give you anthing to help. Cyclizine didn't help with my first but I'm willing to try anything this time round to avoid the same.
@Savvy2021

Hi Savvy, I feel your pain. I am feeling so sick all day long I can not do much at all. I just feel like sleeping for time to go pass.

Also sad as I have a 4yo and a 6 yo so I am not much fun for them at the moment. And let’s don’t talk about the mess in the house...

I called my GP today but they said unless I am actually vomiting everything they can give much more than advice on having ginger, bands...

Just can’t wait for this to go! So, you are not alone!

monnis · 15/04/2021 18:02

Thanks @Sandia3 I've been really woozy off and on this week. Luckily had a day off today so was able to have a nice long nap on the sofa and graze 👍

AlackAlasAlackaday · 15/04/2021 19:58

Same as others, very nauseous. Not much vomiting (not sure if that's better or worse) but really feeling unwell a lot of the time. Hope it does pass soon.

I went for a second early scan today more money than sense here. All fine, dates still slightly ahead at 11+5 and 11+3. One of them waved Grin. I still feel nervous rather than excited tbh, hope that shifts a bit soon.

monnis good news on your scan Flowers

I know it's awful for us all but it's good to have a place to share the mutual misery.
I'm on cyclizine too and had a random really good day the first day after taking it but the past two days I've still been really sick. Currently writing this on my bathroom floor Confused.
I think I might just have to live off plain toast and maybe go back to the GPs if there's no improvement.
Anyone else have any tips? My first pregnancy I was nauseous and had terrible food aversions but wasn't actually sick very often at all.
I'm back at work on Monday and not sure I'm going to cope well!

ELMcg · 16/04/2021 08:25

@Alackalasalackaday @heartandheart really feel for you ladies!

I also have bad nausea but have only been sick a handful of times in the last 2 weeks. I'm just 7+4 today. Generally reverting to eating like a child has helped! After a week of my husband eating both our dinners, he has a normal dinner and I have plain pasta or something cold. My nausea seems to come and go but food aversions are always there.

I had a miscarriage in December at 12 weeks and baby was measuring 8+6 so they closer I get to that date the more I panic! Decided against any private scans as I found out at a private scan last time so don't really feel like booking one will do me any good anxiety wise!

Katy4321 · 16/04/2021 09:22

Hi,
It is lovely to find this thread. I'm 9+4 and it is my first pregnancy. It was a bit of a shock, as I had pretty much thought it was a path I wouldn't ever be on, for many reasons and I'm 43. I've known a few weeks, and my emotions were all over the place to start with but have spoken with GP and a midwife who really helped, but still feels overwhelming at times, and feeling sick and tired doesn't help.
Sorry to see some of you struggling with this too. Mine has settled down the last few days which may be a combination of hormones calming (slightly worried this is too early for that), getting more sleep and eating enough food - found simple meals such as scramble egg on toast with a bit of cheese and good quality orange juice diluted half half with water helped. I felt particularly rubbish if ate too little and that is a vicious cycle - so really made effort to eat more, but not easy at times.

I have had an early scan and have routine nhs scan at 10 weeks booked for next week.

@Sandia3 I have booked a private Nipt test too, as quite a concern for me given my age. It is not for another week or so and the results a week or so after that, so I know I will get quite anxious about that.

I hope this thread keeps going, as it feels really good to be in a group experiencing similar things - I know there is an FB page, but I'm not so comfortable joining at this stage

Hannah94L · 16/04/2021 09:26

Morning all,

Hope you are all doing well? Congrats to those who have recently had scans.
I’ve got my booking appointment this morning. Feels like ages since I booked it.

Sandia3 · 16/04/2021 11:56

@Katy4321 My sister had her daughter at your age and she is fine. Sure it will be all good for you too.

The last three days (I am 8+4) have become worse for me. Being sick at night but today I also feel terrible in the day.

I do not feel like doing any thing at all. I kind of understand depression during pregnancy now although I recognise I am not depressed. In the evenings I get so upset as I feel so so sick.

I know I am having only one as I had a scan at 5 +5. Otherwise I would be convinced I would be having twins (I am a non identical twin). Feeling so much more sick than with my two previous pregnancies. Confused

Sorry for the rant, I just think you are the only people that can understand what this feels like.

Also, this has got me thinking. What if this sickness last the entire 9 months? I would not want to see the baby at all after birth! I am not able to think of the baby without gagging right now. Does any one get this too?

Can’t really think of any thing real at the moment,

Also have holiday booked in Cornwall at the end of the month and worried I will ruin them for my family feeling so sick.

heartandheart · 16/04/2021 12:13

@Katy4321 congratulations! Have you got other children?

@ELMcg I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage - these 12 weeks are always so difficult and it must be so much harder after a loss.

I've rang my boss this morning and the GPS so I'm going to try some different medication. Hopefully in a few weeks we will all be glowing in the second trimester with healthy baby scans to report 🤞🏻
