Following on from the first thread which is nearly full, here we are with another thread to keep us going through the first trimester and beyond.

Welcome Smile. I'm Alack, currently 8+something with twins, due 2 November but likely to make an early appearance. Also have DD (3).

Currently on the group we mostly seem to be food-averse insomniacs who just want a nap, so here's hoping for some pregnancy glow! Grin And less anxiety as the weeks go on.

@Savvy2021 hi. With my first i had such bad sickness and nausea until 16 weeks. Now with my second it started earlier (5 weeks instead of 6). I've been crying every single day as have bad nausea morning, noon and night. Started actually being sick in the past week too. However I was prescribed cyclizine on Friday and dare I say I actually feel a bit better.. not been sick since taking it and even managed a maccies breakfast today. Not healthy but the fact i ate something more than 2 mouthfuls of something plain was something

I'm only 8 weeks today so it shouldn't really be easing off for me and I'm sure in a few days I'll be upset that its back. But my point is if you're feeling nauseous all day long it really is debilitating and it would be worth speaking to the GP to see if they can give you anthing to help. Cyclizine didn't help with my first but I'm willing to try anything this time round to avoid the same.

renniem · 11/04/2021 11:50

Hi all! I just found out this week that I'm pregnant... and 10w2d today!!

I had to go for a private scan to date my pregnancy due to irregular periods and not keeping track as I had my first baby through IVF last year.

I'm 38 and have low AMH and prior to my IVF was TTC for 8 years so this is very VERY unexpected. However, I couldn't be happier. My rainbow baby is just over 10 months so this is definitely going to be a learning experience Grin

Due on November the 5th!

Final1 · 11/04/2021 17:52

@Randomness12 Yes, he is very supportive despite being at work full time. Sorry to hear your feeling so sick as well. I just cannot wait to get to weeks 20-25 when my HG improves!

@MKe21 I had a good cry yesterday too! I hope you feel better soon. I take Cyclizine along with Metoclopromide but they make me soo fatigued and out of it! I swear I prefer birthing pain to nausea and vomiting! Shock.

I am also getting anxious about the birth. I had a breech birth last time and did 2 excruciating ECVs but failed. I really hope for a VBAC this time.

Roopers · 11/04/2021 18:01

Hope everyone's getting on ok today. I've spent most of the weekend outside as the sickness has been so bad and the fresh air has felt so nice. Shame it was Baltic!! I've had to order some sickness bands so fingers crossed they help. I've got the midwife on weds so if the bands don't help I'm going to ask for some anti sickness as one severely nauseous from dawn til dusk.

Anyone using any crazy foods to keep them going at the moment? I'm still on bagels with butter and salt with the occasional piece of cheese and ice lollies.

AlackAlasAlackaday · 11/04/2021 19:10

@renniem wow, that’s amazing! A quarter of the way through already Grin

@Roopers I’m just incredibly faddy with food - one week I was basically living on McDonald’s, the next was Greek salads (??), then tuna sarnies, now cereals with very cold milk. I basically can’t do an online shop because it’ll be full of stuff I’ve changed my mind about by the time it’s turned up Confused.

Hi Ladies!

Late to the party but please can I join? 9+4 and due 10th Nov! First baby, and a surprise but coming round to it all now!

Hope you ladies are all well, so far I am nauseous all day and so tired, like ridiculously tired! I can’t stay awake past 9pm! X

ShutUpAlex · 11/04/2021 19:23

9 weeks today! My morning sickness has turned into evenings sickness so at least I get the day times back.
Tiredness is back though so having afternoon naps again. Still off most food.

Randomness12 · 11/04/2021 19:56

I’m the same with the fads @AlackAlasAlackaday it takes me ages to decide what I want to eat then by the time it’s cooked I can’t stomach it. It’s so frustrating. My DH is getting a bit fed up with having to eat by himself but nothing I can do about it.

I do remember actually losing weight in the first trimester with my DD as the food aversions were so strong although I was physically being sick a lot more frequently than I am now.

Hi @Tilly18101, welcome!

monnis · 12/04/2021 12:37

Hi everyone. 9+1 today and on countdown to my scan on Thursday morning. This week marks the week my baby stopped growing last time, I am struggling! Wishing you all a good week x roll on Thursday! X

ShutUpAlex · 12/04/2021 13:08

Is anyone showing yet? My belly had popped right out already.

DaenarysStormborn · 12/04/2021 16:21

Hi, we had a private scan this morning! I'm 8 weeks with baby measuring 7+6 with fetal pole and heartbeat seen, it was really emotional - I was terrified before we went in, just in case something was wrong. It really hurt when she was doing the scan - I'm assuming that's normal. Think I've got a bruise.

I hope you are all well - can't wait for the end of the first trimester so I feel more human and less nauseous!

AlackAlasAlackaday · 12/04/2021 18:42

Lovely news @DaenarysStormborn!

@ShutUpAlex yup, I’m larger than I was at 20 weeks with DD Blush. I appreciate that there’s two in there but they’re the size of grapes or something so I expect it’s bloat/diet.

We’ve had a “shit getting real” chat with DH and are running around viewing larger houses this week. And I’m googling triple bunks.

For anyone feeling nauseous and who hasn't tried anti sickness bands...... do it! I hadn't heard of them before and popped to boots to get some and it's the first time in over a week I've not gagged at the sight of the fridge or nibbled my way through the whole afternoon.
The sickness is still there but in comparison it is a 1/10 rather than a 10/10.

Hope you're all holding up!

ShutUpAlex · 12/04/2021 18:45

@AlackAlasAlackaday I was already fat so I know that doesn’t help but I’m in maternity clothes already Grin

happygolucky20 · 12/04/2021 21:33

Hi ladies
After my sudden show of blood on Friday, the EPU called first thing this morning and offered us a scan. Thankfully, they found a heartbeat!! Apparently a bleed is highly common and without explanation but luckily all healing. I am measuring 24 hours behind, we suspected it might have been more as I know I ovulate late.
Thank you @Needingsupportplease @Randomness12 and @21Arwen for your positive messages!! We really did think it was over given our mc last year, even though the sickness never left this weekend!! Positive start to the week for us x

monnis · 13/04/2021 07:12

Congratulations @happygolucky20 you must feel so relieved xx

AlackAlasAlackaday · 13/04/2021 07:25

So glad to hear all is well @happygolucky20
I've been quiet on this thread but have been reading and have had my fingers crossed for you.

Congrats to all the newcomers and hope everyone is doing well.

My tiredness is unreal at the moment. If any one has any tips for getting through the day feeling like this with a toddler that literally does. not. stop. then i'm all ears! 😫😪

Needingsupportplease · 13/04/2021 08:27

Yaaay @happygolucky20 so happy for you!! Try not to worry if it happens again I had it almost every other day, Few days along as I didnt have pain I tried to stay calm and the epu would always scan me as much as required but no more than once a week. So so pleased for you!! 6 days for me x

Needingsupportplease · 13/04/2021 08:28

@Kimblebee19 i know the feeling! I'm just napping when/if she does and trying to play whilst sat down 🤣

happygolucky20 · 13/04/2021 09:43

Thank you everyone, so beyond pleased xxx

vixey · 13/04/2021 10:09

congratulations everyone, such lovely news to read.
I have two weeks to wait until my 12 week scan, im 10 weeks and 1 day and I'm absolutely terrified. I think because some of my symptoms have eased off. I'm not being as sick and I'm finding my boobs aren't as painful then it's worrying me that I've had a mmc. my midwife is quite happy that everything is OK and it's normal for some of the more horrible symptoms go drop away after a few weeks, but its still scary. im terrified I'm gonna go and they'll tell me there's no heartbeat. how is everyone dealing with anxiety leading up to the 12 week scan? any pointers? xxxx

Randomness12 · 13/04/2021 12:18

Ahh yay @happygolucky20! That’s great news!

@vixey the anxiety is real, have you thought about having a private scan?

I had the midwife this morning for bloods etc. I am not great with needles and was so scared and nervous but it was all done quickly and she is lovely. Just waiting on scan appt now then I’ll see her again at 16 weeks.

Wasn’t thrilled to discover they’ve introduced another blood test at 16 weeks either which tests the babies DNA as I’m rhesus negative so all being well it’s 4 more blood tests plus 2 injections to go plus the c-section Shock

vixey · 13/04/2021 12:53

@randomness12
I did go for a private scan at 8+6 because I couldn't wait any longer, it had to be booked at least a week in advance so by the time I can actually have the scan it'll only be a week before my 12 week one so might aswell just hang on.
everything was OK at 8 weeks so I'm just hanging on to that, just the idea of a mmc is really scary. xxx

happygolucky20 · 13/04/2021 14:23

@vixey it’s quite normal for the symptoms to come and go. I asked the midwife at the hospital yesterday as last week I was stuck in bed through sickness but at the weekend I was able to get up and out, she said that was perfectly normal. Hormones rise (symptoms) and then settle (less symptoms). So pleased don’t worry about that as a sign.
