Due November 2021 - thread 2!

Following on from the first thread which is nearly full, here we are with another thread to keep us going through the first trimester and beyond.

Welcome Smile. I'm Alack, currently 8+something with twins, due 2 November but likely to make an early appearance. Also have DD (3).

Currently on the group we mostly seem to be food-averse insomniacs who just want a nap, so here's hoping for some pregnancy glow! Grin And less anxiety as the weeks go on.

@vixey yeah I think that sounds reasonable x

pineapple2021 · 09/04/2021 20:50

@vixey thank you! That's reassuring.

Got my early scan (private) tomorrow and I am so anxious!!

vixey · 09/04/2021 21:04

@pineapple2021
I was terrified too, but I tried to resign myself to the Philosophy that if I'm taking care of myself and following guidance then its out of my control what happens. trying to not feel responsible is a big deal for me lol.
honestly, what will be will be and worrying won't make it come round any quicker or change the outcome.

@happygolucky20 i agree it doesn’t mean bad news necessarily, I had quite a lot of bleeds with my DD and she is now 4. I’ve had a friend who has had a cyst burst which caused a bleed and baby was totally fine.

21Arwen · 10/04/2021 07:46

Hello everyone! Hope you don't mind me jumping in. Currently 6+5, my first. I wanted to weigh in on the spotting - at 5 weeks I had sudden onset of spotting for 2 days and was initially devastated. However I did a lot of research online and found a very reassuring write up of a controlled study where they monitored lots of women and found that spotting / light bleeding (especially if short lived; 1-2 days) does not indicate greater risk of miscarriage. Spotting/bleeding happens in about 27% of pregnancies. Most of the usual info online isn't very helpful because the stats only reflect women who go to an EPU or A&E, so those studies basically exclude all the more mild cases, which skews the results. I found this massively reassuring. Of course nothing is ever certain (and it's still wise to check in with a GP/midwife etc.) but it was great to see a properly conducted scientific study.

happygolucky20 · 10/04/2021 08:09

Thank you @Randomness12 @Needingsupportplease @21Arwen such a shame we have this two day wait until Monday just to even hear back from the hospital, trying to remain positive but not succeeding that well. 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

catinthehat12 · 10/04/2021 11:55

Hi all, came to look at this thread as I am due in Nov, and hoped people would be in the same boat as me, which it looks like they are! I have had brown spotting, not consistent and not an increased volume of cervical mucus at all, just my cervical mucus is slightly brown. I have had it on and off since Tuesday morning, so for almost 5 days now. It seems to be getting less and less and this is exactly the time my period would be due if I wasn’t pregnant so just hoping it’s that, but have obviously scared myself half to death reading about missed miscarriages. I wasn’t planning on having an early scan, but can’t see what else would settle the stress. Anyone else having similar?

DizSquiz · 10/04/2021 12:24

@catinthehat12 hey, I've had brown cm on and off since week 5 and it's usually around the time my period would be due! It seems to be quite common. Went for scan thurs (9W) measuring 1 day ahead, so I wouldn't worry. But if you are concerned I'd contact GP/MW

DizSquiz · 10/04/2021 12:26

@catinthehat12 also I know how you feel as I googled this back when it started and felt the same, but have learnt to not google things as usually only the bad/worrying stuff comes up. So try steer clear of google if you can x

pineapple2021 · 10/04/2021 12:33

Just had my early scan I booked..... amazing! Little baby and we saw and heard the heartbeat. Measuring about 6 days behind what I thought but I had come off pill so cycle was a bit all over the place! Feel a bit reassured now.

AlackAlasAlackaday · 10/04/2021 12:38

Hi all,

I'm 6 + 4 and as yet barely had any sickness or nausea. Anyone else the same or didnt have it until a bit later? Boob pain is crazy tho!

DizSquiz · 10/04/2021 13:06

@Soopyjoopy hi I have no sickness nausea, only boob pain (on and off) am 9+2 had scan Thursday x

Savvy2021 · 10/04/2021 13:07

Hello ladies,

I hope you don’t mind me joining in the thread. I’m 38 and got my BFP in March. I’m 8+2. This is my 2nd pregnancy, the first ended in MC around 6 years ago. So can relate to all the excitement and nerves in the group. Been TTC loosely since then so this is a bit of a surprise! (Good surprise).

I have an early private scan on Tuesday to put my mind at ease that all is ok so far, fingers crossed we get to see something 🤞🏼🤞🏼.

Looking forward to sharing our journies. Xx

catinthehat12 · 10/04/2021 13:59

@DizSquiz Thanks for the reassurance. In all my panic, it’s since stopped actually. Haven’t had any since last night so on and off for 4 days in total, which seems a bit more comforting.

The nausea is picking up a lot more these days and the have had a few cramps on and off today. Constipation is a key factor though too. This is my first, no previous pregnancy’s and as others have stated the anxiety is unbelievable. Major credit to you all going through this again following losses. It must be so difficult.

Soopyjoopy · 10/04/2021 14:16

Thats so reassuring. My boob pain pretty much went 1 morning in the week and I had a panic and booked a scan tomorrow, by that evening they were the heaviest and sore'est they've been doh!!

Dixiechick1991 · 10/04/2021 16:33

Hello ladies so lovely to see these early scans!
I’m 9+4 and had my booking appointment yesterday - been out as consultant led after a tricky delivery and long recovery last time.
Now just waiting on the scan letter - wish I could remember how long it takes. The nausea has gone insane today and I feel
Horrendous!! Trying to plod through the days in clothes that don’t press on my massive bloated belly is getting harder!!

vixey · 10/04/2021 17:53

sorry to interrupt but I'm in a panic.
so ive heard you're not meant to drink pineapple juice until the very end of pregnancy because it causes the uterus to contract.
I've just got a drink at work which I thought was fresh orange juice. turns out to be pineapple juice. I only had about 50-100ml but its made me panic. xxxx

ronniemipperton · 10/04/2021 17:58

@vixey pretty sure it’s fine, I don’t think there’s any actual evidence for pineapple being unsafe in pregnancy. www.healthline.com/health/pregnancy/pineapple#is-pineapple-safe

I definitely drank it last pregnancy and it didn’t cause any problems.

ELMcg · 10/04/2021 18:03

Hi ladies hope you are all having a relaxing weekend! I'm 6+4 today and Holy moly the sickness has stepped up a notch! I've pretty much had nausea on and off since I found out at 4 weeks, that's how I knew I was pregnant. But this is a whole new level, I've not moved off the couch all day, feels like I was out on a mad bender until 3am last night 😂. Last time with my MC sickness didn't hit at all until 7 weeks so this is very different for me. Sending hugs to anyone feeling the same!

Final1 · 10/04/2021 20:21

Hello Everyone!

Congrats on all of your pregnancies! Just wanted to join the chat at 8 weeks pregnant today. I am sure this date will be set back about a week at the dating scan as it has in my past 2 pregnancies. So, this is my third (7 month old son and 6 yr old daughter). Very unexpected. I suffered very badly in Pregnancy 1 and 2 with HG. Currently, I am nauseous all the time but limited vomiting due to medication. Like many of you, I hate opening the fridge, being near bins and sometimes even my husband or children make me sick!....Please don’t hate me but at the moment, I am totally unhappy about this baby...I just have such a traumatic pregnancy and birth...even my son was unexpected because me and my partner decided the first one was so hard on me. When I found out about this one, my husband said have an abortion because he was very worried about my health and being able to care for our children. I am doing my PGCE (teacher training) so have to be in everyday to teach lessons...Wish me strength, ladies, as I only have until June till I get my licence.
This child is 100% the final one for me in my life! Anyway, I think this chat will be good for me to become happier. Having no symptoms would make me so happy...
Booking app is on the 16th and scan on May 11th.

Final1, 27 yrs old, due 20/11/2021, 8 weeks.

Randomness12 · 10/04/2021 23:36

Hi @Savvy2021 sounds like a long journey to get here, congratulations!

@Final1 congratulations to you too. I’ve had friends suffer with HG and it was so debilitating. I really hope you don’t experience it at the same levels this time. Is your DH supportive now?

I’ve told a couple of friends this week as I’m struggling with the nausea so much I was starting to feel quite low. Trying to keep my head down but my DD is desperate to play and all I want to do is lay on the sofa all day long. I feel so guilty already.

Needingsupportplease · 11/04/2021 09:45

Anyone else's skin changed?! Never had a mark on mine now I'm covered in spots and my skin is so dry even my makeups going on differently its awful! Makes me look more dead than I feel haha!

Savvy2021 · 11/04/2021 10:33

Thank you @Randomness12 it really has been a long journey, hence the decision to take the pressure off and take a loose approach. 🤞🏼 Only 2 more days until my scan so I’ll hopefully have positive news.

@Needingsupportplease my skin is also going through a breakout phase! Never had spots in my life either. I guess hormones will do what they will. Hopefully it will settle. I’m sure the change in our eating habits won’t help either. Carb tastic! Haha.

My nausea is through the roof!!! Rarely sick just constant feeling as though I’m going to be. Any tips to help welcomed??!! Eating little and often (when I can stomach it)

catinthehat12 · 11/04/2021 11:28

@Needingsupportplease I have this!! Particularly around my nose, but also my lips are constantly dry.
