Due November 2021 - thread 2!

AlackAlasAlackaday · 25/03/2021 08:15

Following on from the first thread which is nearly full, here we are with another thread to keep us going through the first trimester and beyond.

Welcome Smile. I'm Alack, currently 8+something with twins, due 2 November but likely to make an early appearance. Also have DD (3).

Currently on the group we mostly seem to be food-averse insomniacs who just want a nap, so here's hoping for some pregnancy glow! Grin And less anxiety as the weeks go on.

Thank you @Maya000 @Robyn101 @Girlmama3 @mrssunshinexxx

I want to make an informed decision but it's so difficult to weigh everything up !

DaenarysStormborn · 07/04/2021 19:48

Hope everyone is keeping well.

I'm 7+2, got a private scan on Monday which seems like a long wait at this point! I've had very few symptoms over the last few days as the nausea seems to be easing. I've gone off almost all food though, especially food I normally love so I'm hoping that's a good sign.

Randomness12 · 07/04/2021 20:44

@vixey my DH is getting a bit fed up too I think, it’s hard for him to understand just how bad I feel but equally I can’t help it!

I won’t be having the vaccine, it’s only recommended if you are very high risk and even then I’d be in two minds I think but thankfully the midwife said I won’t need it but it will be offered as soon as I finish breastfeeding.

vixey · 07/04/2021 21:44

@randomness12 it's so bad, but its tough being this ill and trying to work full time too.
and one of my DH friends has given me a lecture about not doing enough and being anxious. almost saying it'll be my fault if something goes wrong 😠 what right does he have, because he's the father of a 1 year old.

I had my vaccine before I knew I was pregnant, but my dr isn't worried because I work in a very high risk environment so he thinks I'm safer having the vaccine because of my job.

xxx

mrssunshinexxx · 07/04/2021 22:36

@Randomness12 I'm the same as you but won't have until I've finished feeding but that could be when the lo is like 2!

Soopyjoopy · 08/04/2021 06:51

@vixey

does anyone else get really anxious at every twinge. every small twinge or pain and I'm panicking. I'm so scared I'm going to lose this baby, I've almost convinced myself I'm going to lose it, it's like a fear of the unknown. I dont know what is normal :/
Yes, had 2 spots of pink yesterday morning and my world came crashing down, by afternoon I was ok thinking it was "normal" by evening convinced it had "gone" as boobs werent as sore as night before, this morning nauseous again. So up and down all the time, so worried, 20 years of thinking i can't have kids and 12 years of "not not trying"
pineapple2021 · 08/04/2021 08:29

Anyone else with cold like symptoms? Is this a pregnancy thing? Don't actually have a cold but so blocked up!

AlackAlasAlackaday · 08/04/2021 10:00

pineapple I had the same a few weeks ago (8ish weeks) - just very snotty and sneezy. Felt odd after a year of no colds/flus, couldn't think where I'd have picked it up if it was a cold!

How are others doing? I'm (still...) so nauseous and getting waves of tiredness. Starting to feel my nerves pick up ahead of the 12 week scan, had a nightmare last night about things going wrong etc. Trying to take some comfort from the horrendous sickness so that it's good for something!

Think I'm 10+3/4 today.

@vixey @Randomness12 my partner is getting annoyed with me too. Bless him he's trying to hide it but I can see that it's getting to him. Thing is, I am really struggling - I don't think either of us thought being pregnant would be like this. We thought it was magic and rainbows like in the movies Grin

Still feeling super sick all the time and tired. I'm 7 weeks today, time is going by soooo slooowwwllyyy

ShutUpAlex · 08/04/2021 10:51

I’m still feeling sick all the time. I’m hoping this means thing are going well thiugh. 12 weeks is such a long way away, 8+4 today.

duenov042021 · 08/04/2021 11:56

Maya000 · 08/04/2021 12:50

Ah that's lovely and I agree a very clear picture! X @duenov042021

Randomness12 · 08/04/2021 14:26

Ahh wow @duenov042021! That’s a fab pic of little one 😊

Roopers · 08/04/2021 14:35

Wow @duenov042021 all must feel very real!

I've just had my chat with the midwife - was meant to be next week but she phoned to organise a call to discuss medical history etc and we just did it there and then. My lady is really lovely and we chatted through lots of things and surprisingly didn't speak about birth until I said I wanted elective c-section so that'll be referred to the consultant. Have my appt for bloods etc next week. Still taking it day by day as I'm only 7weeks and a few big growth hurdles for baby to get over yet.

DoveGreylove · 08/04/2021 14:50

Had a second scan today and baby is measuring on track, what a relief. I ovulated later in my cycle, that's all. It's crazy how much it can grow in a 2 week period!

My nausea has given me a bit of a break yesterday and today. It's still there, but not as harsh. I can actually function and take dd1 out to the park without wanting to be sick! I hope that's not a bad sign...!

Does anyone know when the placenta can start to kick in? I forgot to ask.

DizSquiz · 08/04/2021 14:52

@DoveGreylove the lady who did my scan today said around 9ish weeks but I think everyone differs x

AlackAlasAlackaday · 08/04/2021 14:58

Does anyone know when the placenta can start to kick in? I forgot to ask.

I was googling this today and got 9-11 weeks iirc. If you Google “healthline placenta “ there’s a long article. Mine had better hurry up!

Good news on your scan.

DoveGreylove · 08/04/2021 15:12

Thank you @DizSquiz @AlackAlasAlackaday one can only hope it kicks in soon for us all so we can get over the sicky first trimester and into the second feeling a little more like our old selves!

happygolucky20 · 08/04/2021 19:48

@DoveGreylove that’s fantastic news!!! And yes, please can the placenta take over soon, only 6.5 weeks and already over the sickness!

mrssunshinexxx · 08/04/2021 19:55

Anyone else on here needin to choose between VBAC and section ?

pansa · 08/04/2021 22:45

Hi everyone, i was on the last thread but was getting way too anxious so had to step away for a bit!!
Midwife thinks im due 23rd of Nov but will see what the scan next week says.
Im 21, this is my firstBear
Also congrats to everyone!

mrssunshinexxx · 09/04/2021 07:48

@May2311 are you ok xx

Bonniecoloo · 09/04/2021 08:49

Haven’t posted for a while as was panicking about my symptoms. Feel nauseous most of the day and I’m actually sick sometimes in the evening but not everyday. Booked a private scan last night as wanted one before I head back to work on Monday to put my mind at ease. Measuring 8 weeks so back up to where I thought I was. Looks a little funny but was such a relief! Can even see the little arm nubs forming.

Got my booking appointment next Wednesday and then I guess get told when my 12 week scan is?
