Due November 2021 - thread 2!

AlackAlasAlackaday · 25/03/2021 08:15

Following on from the first thread which is nearly full, here we are with another thread to keep us going through the first trimester and beyond.

Welcome Smile. I'm Alack, currently 8+something with twins, due 2 November but likely to make an early appearance. Also have DD (3).

Currently on the group we mostly seem to be food-averse insomniacs who just want a nap, so here's hoping for some pregnancy glow! Grin And less anxiety as the weeks go on.

I've only just found this thread

@AngeloMysterioso could you add me to the list?

onlyhereforthefood, 33 (almost 34), due 3/11/21

I'm 9 weeks today, the midwives can't do my booking in appt until 20/4 when I'll be 11w6d and we're sure if they'd be able to put me forward for my 12 week scan until they've spoken to me, they were going to try though!
I'm so impatient, I don't want to wait until I could theoretically be 14 or 15 weeks!

pineapple2021 · 31/03/2021 20:39

Anyone else on the evening nausea? Not loads but post 8pm I feel a bit bleugh. Got a stash of ginger biscuits by my bed!

pineapple2021 · 31/03/2021 20:40

Also..... rang doctors and spoke to reception 10 days ago..... nothing since. Am I meant to hear something? You all seem to have dates with midwives!

AlackAlasAlackaday · 31/03/2021 20:45

Yes! I find fruit / lemon ice lollies help.

I’d ring up the GP/ MW central number and chase pineapple, in case they’ve lost you between one and the other.

Babycrawf · 31/03/2021 20:50

@pineapple2021 I called the central number (I’m Scotland) and got appointments there and then. Midwife appointment is by telephone call tho so a bit dismayed as to bloods etc especially given My age. I’d call them tomorrow and get the ball rolling

ahuss · 31/03/2021 20:50

Have veryyyyy tender breasts today. It's like I can almost feel them getting bigger and my bra expanding. Had a lot of cramping today not painful but like slightly uncomfortable. How's everyone else getting on?

ahuss · 31/03/2021 20:51

Is everyone having midwives appointment over the phone? Mine is in person on the 19th of April (first appointment).

thetallgirl · 31/03/2021 21:21

@pineapple2021 you've started with nausea! None for me yet but the tiredness is my constant reminder I'm pregnant. I also had a scan yesterday (6+4) at my IVF clinic which has reassured me - saw a healthy baby with a heartbeat.

@ahuss my midwife appt next week is also face-to-face, will be the first appointment and have been told it lasts 80mins! It will be the longest I've been in a room with someone other than my DH for a long time!

ahuss · 31/03/2021 21:24

@thetallgirl congratulations on your very successful first scan. I've been told the appointment will be around an hour. I wasn't aware that a scan won't be done on that appointment hence why I booked a private one because I can't wait 12 weeks. Hopefully the scan goes well and doesn't make me more anxious than I already am.

lucerito · 31/03/2021 22:08

Hi ladies,
I hope you are having a good week. I'm thankful to feel sick, it is so reassuring! 🥺
Had. Y first scan today- strong heart beat and measuring as expected (8 weeks) or maybe two days ahead. I'm so grateful and praising God. On stop 😍🙋🏻‍♀️

I praying you all get goo reports and for strength for the ones who have gotten sad news. I have been there too😭

ahuss · 31/03/2021 22:21

@lucerito so nervous and excited about my scan. Was yours a private scan?

Maya000 · 31/03/2021 22:21

@pineapple2021 my gp said the referral takes up to two weeks unless you have concerns and need to be seen sooner. I called them over a week ago and still waiting to hear from them

lucerito · 01/04/2021 02:51

Hi @ahuss
I was also not sure about my scan, last time (last pregnancy) was really bad news (MMC).
I prayed fervently to stay calm and have hope.

It wasn't private. I'm in Canada, here we don't have to wait long.

DaenarysStormborn · 01/04/2021 07:04

Having early morning and late evening nausea. I feel ill just thinking about food.

Have any of you seen the thread about childminders/nursery? Some of the posters have said that they had to book a nursery before birth Shock

Surely if I wait until 7 months gone, everything will be fine? I don't want to be the mad lady ringing up to say she's pregnant. Especially when I haven't told work yet and the nursery is a feeder for my workplace...

ShutUpAlex · 01/04/2021 07:41

I’ve got my booking in appointment today Smile

Sad that I have to get dressed though.

AlackAlasAlackaday · 01/04/2021 07:49

Phew lucerito, lovely news!

@DaenarysStormborn in my bit of London it wouldn't be unusual to start putting names down at nursery already, but I think that's a bit atypical as it's nappy valley here. If you're somewhere equally nuts but don't want to tell "your" nursery perhaps sign up at another nursery as a back-up, so that the issue doesn't trouble you for the coming months. I really don't think most nurseries have lots of 1st trimester women on their books.

AlackAlasAlackaday · 01/04/2021 07:50

(And the other side of that is that actually there is a lot of nursery waiting list movement because people move house/change minds/whatever... which they would when you're asking them to decide something basically two years in advance Confused )

@DaenarysStormborn in my neck of the woods (Northern Scotland) its very typical to put names down from about 5 months pregnant. I know alot of my friends now can't get a place as they waited until their baby was born. There is a nursery close to my workplace and home and its nearly impossible to get a space so it seems common up here so reserve a place during pregnancy but I wouldn't say 1st trimester. I had a MC with my 1st pregnancy at 13 weeks and would have been devastated if I had to phone up and cancel!

Also interesting about booking appointments, mine is in person this time but last time in November it was over the phone so I don't know if they are changing with the rules relaxing. I don't know what it's like in the rest of the country but in Scotland they create a new file for every pregnancy so I have to spend over an hour answering the same questions as I did 4/5 months ago 😂

babynov · 01/04/2021 08:37

Does anyone know if it's possible to be 'measuring ahead'?

Two scans have put my due date just over a week sooner than I thought - I didn't track ovulation but I hadn't even started my last period when they are estimating conception but two separate scans / people have dated it the exact same 🙄

AlackAlasAlackaday · 01/04/2021 08:50

Mine are a couple of days ahead @babynov. I'm not quite sure what to make of it - is it to do with size, is it that that's actually when it all happened (doesn't seem like the latter is possible in your case)? I was tracking ovulation/temps/CM when we conceived so I feel quite certain about it.

VeraBlack · 01/04/2021 09:11

Hi All! Congrats on your pregnancy. I am 8+3 weeks and this is my first pregnancy, due 8th Nov.
We had been trying for 9yrs, had our last transfer of IVF Nov 2020 which the embryo died during the thawing process, they told us not to waste anymore money on IVF and that conceiving naturally would be near impossible for me. So we got used to the idea it wasn’t going to happen for us. Then a miracle happened.. So we got a BFP after we had stopped trying and just having fun (tequila was involved) 🤷🏻‍♀️. I had a scan at 6 weeks saw a heartbeat, I wanted to see ‘one’, if it was real and 2 that it wasn’t eptopic, of which I was at high risk. I have had absolutely no nausea? (Is that ok/normal for some?) my boobs are very enlarged and sore I also have a very bloated tummy ( I already look pregnant, and I’m slim) with a hard protruding lump the size of a mandarin on my right side? Anyone else had this? I run my own business, which is hard when you feel so blah.. I can’t imagine having to deal with other kids feeling so tired and flat. Kudos to you women that so.. I am 42 so really want this to be successful so I’m not thinking about any of the negatives that could happen..

happygolucky20 · 01/04/2021 09:37

@VeraBlack oh my gosh, what a journey, CONGRATULATIONS!

happygolucky20 · 01/04/2021 09:39

I use to work in private education and parents would call up to reserve before they had even conceived but mostly in their first trimester - this was for a nursery place and a place in reception class (!!!). We use to think they were nuts, so I really couldn’t be one of those 😂

GemP139 · 01/04/2021 10:43

Hiya,

Is anyone else ridiculously tired? I'm 6+2 and for the last 3 days I've been absolutely exhausted! Literally having to drag myself out of bed on a morning, despite going up at 9.30 and getting up at 8 (albeit with a few wake ups in the night). My legs feel like dead weights all morning and having to drag them around!

So pleased I'm still working from home, not sure I'd make the commute and office all day! 😴😴😴

This is my first so all new to me!

TS87 · 01/04/2021 14:26

@Needingsupportplease

Nice that we're on the same day and can countdown together! *@happygolucky20* Welcome *@babycrawf congratulations! @ts87* I'm 5+2 too :) been ridiculously bloated today, exhausted but had quite strong cramps too but they've eased...
Glad others are on same day as me. Had a bit of bloating last few days but also some dull pain on my lower left side - not sure if thats normal??Ive had cysts on that ovary before that were removed so hoping they havent returned now with the vengeance 🥴
