@Jl2020 good luck today hope all goes well! Look forward to finding out

Does anyone know, are we allowed to sunbath pregnant? Il wear spf but I'm desperate to get a bit of colour on my skin 😂 or should I cover my tummy? I think we must be able to because what do people in warm countries do? But im not sure

Jl2020 · 30/05/2021 09:26

@jessicakxx thankyou! I'm sure we can but I do think our skin can be more likely to burn when pregnant due to being more sensitive so spf is a good idea! I definitely plan on getting in the garden today. I have never felt so pale in my life after not being on holiday for over a year for like the first time ever 😂 x

Cpr12 · 30/05/2021 10:10

@jl2020 good luck today!! Sure they will cooperate! And yeah I am sure sunbathing will be fine just make sure plenty spf.

Jl2020 · 30/05/2021 16:10

Went for my scan and baby was so active so feels strange I can't feel anything but the sonographer did mention I have an anterior placenta so may feel movements later than usual.

He said everything looked as it should and i'm having a baby girl 💗🥰 my mother's intuition was clearly so wrong lol xx

jessicakxx · 30/05/2021 16:31

@Jl2020 aw yay congratulations!! Bet you are so happy to see them moving around! I also found out I have an anterior placenta, I'm 20 weeks yesterday and haven't felt anything really xx

Cpr12 · 30/05/2021 17:16

@jl2020 congrats!!! So happy for you. And yes, every person who has been involved in my care, which is lots(!!) has commented on how active the baby is, yet until yesterday I felt nothing (21 weeks on Wednesday). It is so weird to see them moving about and not even feel a thing 😂

Rmka · 30/05/2021 17:39

@Jl2020, congratulations on your baby girl! Flowers
That's so great you saw her active. I love those scans, wish we had them every week. Smile

Jl2020 · 31/05/2021 14:31

Thanks ladies!

Aww I hope I start to feel movements in the next few weeks 🥰 definitely strange seeing them so active and feeling nothing. Would be amazing to be able to have a scan weekly but definitely not practical lol. I have my 20 week scan on the 23rd June so only a few more weeks to wait for that one :) xx

mooloop · 31/05/2021 14:57

Congrats on the scans everybody! So exciting that we're getting to this stage now 🥰 2 weeks today til mine, feels so far away still!

I'm finding my bump looks quite big in certain outfits this week and non-existent in others, it's crazy 😂 trying to get some use out of my summer clothes before I can't fit in them any more!

Juicytoot287 · 31/05/2021 15:49

Afternoon Ladies,

Glad to hear so many babies are doing Ok and mothers too! I personally have popped this week, feel i finally look pregnant not fat in most outfits so finally invested in some maternity workwear for next week. Next Thursday we get to see our little girl again and cannot wait to have that milestone reached and know she is ok!

On a side note, what is everyones go to food when out? I feel so annoying constantly asking waitors and googling food items if we have been out in the sun lately

Cpr12 · 31/05/2021 16:02

@jl2020 it is not practical, I have something every week, feel like I am constantly saying to work off to the hospital for a scan haha! But they are very good. Back for another scan tomorrow 😂

@Juicytoot287 do you mean what do we eat when we go out for food? I am vegan so can eat anything on any menu. Nothing vegan is off limits, so would suggest eating veggie (although watch for soft cheese!).

mooloop · 31/05/2021 16:03

@Juicytoot287 I'm loving feeling like I look actually pregnant now, hope you are too! Not long to wait to see your little girl again 🥰

I've just been eating mostly what I normally would tbh, most things that the NHS recommend avoiding I don't tend to eat much of anyway thankfully (certain cheeses etc.). I do like steak normally but just haven't bothered whilst pregnant since I wouldn't want it well done!

Jl2020 · 31/05/2021 20:07

@Cpr12 on the plus side Atleast you get to see baby more often even if it isn't practical :)

I really didn't think I looked pregnant but I saw my mum yesterday and a few friends today and they all pointed out I have a little bump now lol. I am struggling with lower back pain atm, think it's from sleeping on my side awkwardly as the pain goes right into the top of my bum 😂

Does anyone have any good recommendations for pregnancy pillows? Think I need to invest!

@Juicytoot287 I haven't really changed what I eat, if I want meat I just make sure it's well cooked and tbh the only thing iv really avoided is pate everything else we shouldn't eat is stuff I don't really eat anyway tbh xx

Garman · 31/05/2021 21:26

@Jl2020 if the pain is going into one of your bum cheeks it could be sciatica or sacroiliac joint pain, a good massage or physio might help, and some yoga/pilates.

@Juicytoo287 what kind of things do you need to ask waiters? I just eat the same as normal, except for as mentioned pate, or anything actually rare/uncooked like steak tartrate!

Juicytoot287 · 31/05/2021 23:01

@garman It's usually like when things have cheeses but doesn't specify the type or icecream to check its pasteurised milk etc. Feel it is OTT but its my first and everything on NHS makes you so paranoid!

Also @jl2020 I have lowrr back pain on Coccyx so basically top of bum. Have suffered with it since I was about 11 weeks pregnant. I found I bought a support pillow in donut shape for my desk chair as that was a big cause, not that I knew. And my pregnancy pillow definitely helps. Got one on ebay to save some pennies

Garman · 31/05/2021 23:11

Pretty much all establishments serving food will have everything pasteurised unless they are very high end making most of their own produce, I wouldn't even give a second thought to eating things like ice cream or cheese barring the obvious stuff of no brie etc unless they're hot. The risks of listeria etc are very low, it's usually more to protect you from getting food poisoning when you might be more susceptible than having anything to do with the baby etc.

@PumpkinEverything

Hey *@Missreginafalange* of course 😊 I’ve been having issues adding people over email, so if you can send me a PM with your name on fb, and a brief description of your profile photo/or send me a link to your profile. I then need to add you as a friend and add you into the group that way 😊 you can then delete me after if you wish!

@PumpkinEverything have seen you a message :)

Kona84 · 01/06/2021 19:54

Had my 20 week scan today. Baby is fine but wasn’t wanting to cooperate so I have to go back next week so they can scan the spine in more detail.

jules5232 · 01/06/2021 20:34

I've been mostly eating as normal. I was really worried at first but DH managed to make me see that nearly everything is pasteurized in restaurants so I try not to think about it too much. I just dont order high mercury fish or any meats under cooked.

I officially started feeling kicks over the weekend. I had posted last week that my anterior placenta was delaying any movement but she is going mad in there now, usually when I lean back and rest on pillows. Such hard kicks that others can see her moving on lower belly too! I am 21 weeks for reference.

whitershadeofpale · 01/06/2021 22:19

I’m 19+4 and morning sickness made a spectacular return this morning when I puked all over the garden! No nausea though which is odd and I haven’t been sick since 15 weeks. Maybe it’s the heat,

Cpr12 · 02/06/2021 08:28

@whitershadeofpale I had the exact same at 15 weeks. Was super sick for 2 days now nothing again! Hopefully it passes as quickly ☺️

@kona84 glad to hear all went well, other than the uncooperative child haha!

milkyway91 · 02/06/2021 18:13

Off topic but is it too early to look at prams, nursery stuff etc? Asking for a friend 😂

Hope the sickness subsides again soon @Cpr12 I had the same thing. Still get random days where I feel quite nauseous but not actually sick. I'm 19+4 and absolutely knackered pretty much permanently haha

Juicytoot287 · 02/06/2021 18:56

@milkyway91 Thinking the same! Will start buying bits after 20 week scan (next week) and then perhaps assembling end of July when we are both off work. It seems soon but equally worried I wont be much use the bigger i get.
I may just buy bits and leave in the boxes until we get nearer though - when is the appropriate time 😂

Rmka · 02/06/2021 20:15

@Kona84, glad your baby is well and hopefully it will cooperate next week 🙂

@milkyway91, I can't wait to start buying stuff. I'll wait with smaller items because some friends promised us some clothes etc. But we started looking at cots and prams (so far just online). I feel like there's so much choice for prams, it's overwhelming. And the prices differ so much.

@whitershadeofpale, I hope it was a one-off and you'll feel better soon. Flowers

I feel fine during the day, a bit tired, but at night I wake up with calves and hip pain on one side, so I turn. Then few hours later the pain moves to the other side and so I wake up. And every night I'm awake for around 2-3 hours, so I started going to sleep at 8:30pm to make up for it Smile. Also heartburn, so much heartburn...

Aki21 · 02/06/2021 21:05

Hi all,

I’m new to Mumsnet and this thread. Also due Oct’21. Just had the 20 week anomaly scan today and sonographer suspected hemivertebra in the lombar region. All previous scans and Harmony test results came back ok. Wondering if anyone has come across this too? Thx
