I'm 19 weeks and no feelings of movement yet. I cant wait to start feeling something though. Hoping that will ease my mind when I start to wonder if they are still in there!

mooloop · 13/05/2021 14:37

Hey guys Smile

Had my 16 week midwife appointment this morning and heart little one's heart beat ❤️ such a nice boost whilst I wait for the next scan!

I can't wait to feel some movement. I thought I could maybe feel something very slightly last night but it's probably in my head with it being so early still Grin

rtz22 · 13/05/2021 16:13

I think im also in the wide awake at 4am club 😭 absolutely sleep deprived going to work these days but it's good to know I'm not the only one! Also I think I'm feeling bubbles of movement but it could be digestion although they are small and fluttery as opposed to the expressive noises my stomach can make 🤭. Not really sure, only 17+5 😅

Cpr12 · 13/05/2021 17:34

@Missreginafalange hopefully I feel something soon! Very exciting! Had another midwife check up today and for the third time in a row using a Doppler they have told me my baby is moving loads. When you hear that it is just so weird that it is so active but feel nothing haha!

I am so in the 3am club. Up every single day at that time, much to my dogs disgust I am moving about and disturbing their sleep 😂 brats 😂

mooloop · 13/05/2021 22:30

Feel so sorry for all of you struggling with sleep. I've been having crazy dreams and waking at 3/4am but I get back off to sleep so it's not been too bad. I did have a couple of weeks a few weeks ago where I'd be wide awake at the crack of dawn though (which is really not like me!)

Another question for you ladies - are you all continuing with the prenatal vitamins now we're in the second trimester? I have been because I know my diet isn't great and it can't hurt, but my pregnant friends have stopped. Just curious really!

Jessica86Shropshire · 14/05/2021 08:39

@mooloop yes I've carried on and my obstetrician hasn't told me to stop. I think they can only help, although pregnacare max are rather pricey!

Jessica86Shropshire · 14/05/2021 08:43

@MeltingSnowflake

Just checking in - I've haven't been on MN in a while. It's so lovely to hear about everyone's scans! And also very reassuring that you're all still getting tired too. I'm not as bad as first trimester, but the tiredness just seems to come from nowhere, even now!

We had our harmony & 12 week scan and all looks good - and we found out it's a little girl Star and we're so happy.

I had a glass of wine tonight for the first time since before we were TTC and now I feel a bit guilty! Anyone else had a glass?! Agh

So glad you're all doing well - how exciting! Xx

Sorry just seen this. I'm 18 weeks and have had 2 glasses throughout being pregnant. Steer from obstetrician is an occasional glass is absolutely fine. I also have a good friend who has just given birth who had a glass every other night throughout and baby is fine. I think that's maybe a bit much but a glass now and again is fine and I definitely would not stress about one glass. X
eloiseislost · 14/05/2021 09:09

@mooloop Midwives told me to keep taking my Pregnacare Plus vitamin until birth, so that's what I've been doing.

Missreginafalange · 14/05/2021 17:57

@eloiseislost that's interesting as my midwife said only vitamin D is needed from 12 weeks onwards.... but that may be cos they were asking me constipated Blush

eloiseislost · 14/05/2021 22:06

@Missreginafalange Maybe it's because I was already on Pregnacare and she just told me to continue -if I was only taking vitamin D and folic acid, she would've said to keep going with that, I think.
Iron supplements can cause constipation but it's also a very common side effect of pregnancy, so hard to avoid! 😬

Cpr12 · 15/05/2021 15:21

I have kept on with my pregnancy vitamins. I find it really hard to ensure I eat perfectly balanced meals each day so saves me having to worry.

Is anyone getting really sore sides during the night? I have a dumbs mattress which I find crap at the best of times, but am now awake from 3am every night as my sides are in so much pain. Please tell me I am not the only one. And even better share tips to stop it if you have any 😂

Rmka · 15/05/2021 18:20

@missreginafalange, I also only take only vitamin D now, stopped the folic acid. I eat healthily most of the time (apart from hard to control sweet tooth) and my bloods are all ok. But I don't know, maybe I should take something just in case...

@Cpr12, I have that too. Not every night, but it's painful when I do. I bought a pregnancy pillow and use it when I feel sore. It's helpful, I always use it for naps.

Does anyone have dry, flaky skin? I'm drinking so much water and using moisturizer, but my skin on arms, tights and tummy is so dry, flakes of skin cover my clothes, it feels embarrassing :(

Kona84 · 15/05/2021 19:19

I am still taking pregnacare and have been prescribed liquid iron to build up my iron reserves. My iron levels are fine but reserves are low. Which means if I ended up with a c section I might need a transfusion.
Which I think I had before with a jaw surgery

Jl2020 · 16/05/2021 10:51

I still have been taking pregnacare every day and I probably will throughout the whole pregnancy.

I literally have to keep reminding myself
I'm pregnant atm I feel completely normal and have no bump or anything yet, I can't wait to start showing so it feels more real 😂 when did everyone start showing with their first pregnancy? I'm 15+2 and have nothing barely even any bloat I just look normal lol. If I hadn't had a scan I honestly wouldn't even believe I'm pregnant 😂 xx

Cpr12 · 16/05/2021 11:06

@rmka actually slept last night, feels so good! It is so annoying the side pain though. Wish I could just lie on my back! My face has gone dry but the rest of my skin is ok. Some of the pregnancy symptoms are so weird!

@jl2020 last time I aaa about 17 or 18 weeks when I started showing. And felt the exact same. Even this time while my tummy has been massive I have not felt pregnant. Until now, my sides and belly are sore, really uncomfortable. You will start showing soon 😍

Jl2020 · 16/05/2021 12:07

@Cpr12 ahh hopefully I don't have too much longer to wait then! my belly is still soft aswell I really expected it to Atleast feel hard by now but I guess everyone is different lol.

Do you find a pregnancy pillow helps with your sore sides and belly? Xx

Cpr12 · 16/05/2021 12:47

@jl2020 at times it helps, but during the night I just think my mattress is crap too so that doesn’t help either. But I defo recommend it if you don’t have one they are super comfy! And yes you will be showing before you know it and complaining of pain like me haha! My tummy is only really hard at night after a full day of eating. Every morning I touch it and get a fright as it is so small 😂😂

Jl2020 · 16/05/2021 14:06

@Cpr12 that's good it helps a little bit I guess and Atleast hopefully makes you a little more comfortable. I don't have one yet as don't generally have any aches or pains yet but I will defo be investing one as soon as start to put on a bit of weight or something 😂 my stomach does definitely look a bit more bloated in the evenings but like you in the mornings nothing there and even through the day nothing haha. Like you said as soon it starts growing I'm sure I will be back moaning about the pain 😂 xx

Juicytoot287 · 16/05/2021 14:07

@Cpr12 Mine is the same!! Hard at night and so much smaller in the morning lol.
I am struggling with bloating still no matter what i do. Feel my stomach wants to bulge more than it has room too right now and struggle to sit up right lol

Jaymar · 16/05/2021 14:45

Hi, hope it’s ok if I join? I’m due my first baby on the 30th October. Had a scan at 16 weeks yesterday and all looking good Smile I agree with the comments above - wee bump in the morning, big bump/bloat in the evening. I have an anterior placenta so think it will be 20+ weeks before I feel anything.

lilomum · 16/05/2021 15:10

I agree also, tiny bump in the morning, big bloaty bump at night. I went onto the scales this morning and even though I feel my shape has changed quite a bit, I have actually not gained a single pound by the looks of it. I'm nearly 18 weeks today so I was a bit surprised at that. I'm starting at a BMI of 22 / 67kg or 10.5st so I thought I would have gained a few pounds by now, especially as the trousers do feel tight. Anyone else not gained yet?

Jl2020 · 16/05/2021 15:17

@Jaymar Hi and welcome lovely 😘

@lilomum I never actually weigh myself so have no idea but I definitely don't look like I've gained anything at all lol

So glad I'm not the only one with no real bump yet, my sister in law is only 13 weeks and already looks more pregnant than me 😂

lilomum · 16/05/2021 16:10

Neither do I usually. I got weighed at the booking appointment around 8 weeks and then today and there doesn't seem to be a difference. Seems ok though from what I've read since. I just remember first time round I had put on quite a bit at this stage already but I was much slimmer to begin with so that may have had something to do with it

Cpr12 · 16/05/2021 16:29

@lilomum I haven’t put on since my 8 week appointment either. Last week O had lost a kilo. Plenty time for that though I guess 😂

@jaymar welcome 😊

mooloop · 16/05/2021 17:48

Ooo hey @Jaymar I'm due on the 30th too! Smile

And yep agree about the fluctuating bump - mine is looking very round after a big Sunday dinner Grin
