I’ve been buying bundles of secondhand clothes off Facebook market place.
Not counted but I think I’ve got 15 0-3month baby grows and vests.
20 3-6months and 10 6-9 months.
I won a bundle of 16 items (baby grows and vests) for 2.50 + £4 postage on eBay.
We have a changing table which I found on marketplace during my last pregnancy. I plan to use it as a wardrobe for them too as it has quite a few shelves.
I plan to buy a car seat new, I’m struggling to find ones that have the handle to carry it don’t know if I’m just been dense.

Pram will be secondhand. Getting a cot from my friend so will just buy a new mattress.
Will be looking for a bassinet for the living room- but was thinking a pack and play might have more longevity. But is it safe to sleep in a pack and play?

Anyone investing in a Ewan sheep? I’ve read good things.

Ewan sheet are amazing!! My DD still uses hers now and she's a year old. Best £40 I've ever spent lol.

MyGrassIsBrowner · 18/04/2021 11:05

*sheep 🤣

mooloop · 18/04/2021 11:05

@Kona84 I'm planning to get a Ewan - I bought one for my nephew while DSIL was pregnant with him and he and his little sister both LOVED him! We bought one for DH's friend's baby when he was born last year too and they said he was magical Grin

Cpr12 · 18/04/2021 11:23

Wow, I missed a lot of chat haha! I have told my husband he has to choose the pram, car seat and cot. Like you @kona84 we plan to get everything but car seat second hand, although I have bought 4 new baby grows. Dont plan to buy much else new. My only issue is I love black, so am struggling to find black baby clothes second hand 😂

Jelliestogether · 18/04/2021 15:53

In terms of a white noise machine.....my daughter has a myhummy bear and at nearly 2y she uses it every night and loves it!

milkyway91 · 19/04/2021 09:35

Woah, I've missed so many messages! Thanks so much for the recommendations- Ewan the sheep and Snuzpod 3 are now being watched on eBay.

Probably a stupid question, but do you mums have a couple of cribs, or do you move the SnuzPod around your house during the day etc?

Had our 12 week scan- I'm now 13+2. Baby was facing head first onto the ultrasound probe so had to do some wriggling around to get them into position...proper stubborn but got there in the end :)

After my scan, I was told I have to ring up the hospital to book my blood test (assume it's the screening one?) but the line keeps saying they aren't accepting calls. I then drove to the hospital to see if I could get a walk in appt and they turned me away and said I need to call. So that's a pretty frustrating process haha.

Other than that, I'm all good I think. Sickness is subsiding and have a bit more energy than before. Loving reading all of your stories- especially those of you with dogs!

Morning ladies!! Just catching up with all posts😅 had my scan on Friday and was measuring 5 days ahead so Brucey bonus that I'm know 14 +1 🤣 starting to feel a bit better especially during the day if I'm going to be sick or nauseated its most likely in the evening so can live with that and who know maybe a way entirely soon prays eagerly 🙏😅 but feeling ALOT better than previous pregnancies so at this point am easy with whatever 😂😂 have to agree with the other ladies with regards to what u buy and what u actually need i would say right a list of what u think u need and the half it ... maybe even twice 🤣with my eldest i bought EVERYTHING.. could slap past self as I spent a fortune and more than half of which never got used or was a complete and utterly pointless purchase as it wasn't Necessary.. for sleeping if planning to breastfeed i would 100% recommend a cosleeper for easy access but if u can get one don't stress as In all honesty a moses basket is just as fine.. in regards to living room and naps we purchased a travel cot that a small baby sleeping pod and was more like larger baby cot if u know what I mean ill see if I can find a link, I found this to be great when my youngest was sitting up etc as the mattress height can be adjusted it was big enough that she could crawl around stand up etc and was completely safe whilst I had to nip to toilet in kitchen etc and meant that it didn't hinder her or limited her movement either other great thing about it was we used to put ball pit balls in it and she would throw them around having a great time but they wouldn't fall out 😁...can u tell that I love this travel cot yet 😅😂 also if planning on combi feeding or feeding in general i highly recommended mam bottles as the have a special air valve that u can actually hear the air coming out of so you know its not going into baby during a feed and the teats are great for not effecting latch .. have lots of other breastfeed tips if anyone is interested but main thing to focus on is happy mum happy baby so whichever way u feed don't stress its all good wither way🥰 and I would also highly recommend white noise teddies too we had one from mamas and papas sure it was an owl or a penguin but was fab but the travel cot also hade one built in was different sounds aswell so we used both . Another thing as well for the first 6 months I would even bother with faffy outfits either (unless u have an occasion or going somewhere nice or out for the day ) as honestly they grow so quick there a pain in the arse when changing and most babies just look at u like... really???🙄as they just was to be comfortable 😅 sorry I've rambled am on my 3rd now so if anyone needs anymore advice or has any questions would be more than happy to help😊x

sargeantsaltnpepper89 · 19/04/2021 10:17

Oh my just seen how long my post was 😬😳

milkyway91 · 19/04/2021 10:34

@sargeantsaltnpepper89 really helpful! Definitely link if you can!
Glad you're feeling better :) Such a relief when the nausea starts to subside! x

MyGrassIsBrowner · 19/04/2021 10:54

@milkyway91 congrats on your scan lovely!!! Im suprised they didnt do bloods straight after your scan that is a bit strange. Bloody nightmare though that you now have to chase up an appointment. Do you have a direct number for the scan department? They might be able to help. My midwife has sorted all my appointments for me I havent had to lift a finger.
With regards to the Snuzpod the top of the crib just lifts off, it's bulky but really quite light, if you have carpets I just used to drag it around with me, easy lol!

@sargeantsaltnpepper89 congrats on your scan lovely glad you ladies are starting to feel a bit perkier now! My sickness has finally subsided touch wood but I'm still waiting for that pregnancy glow 🤣 I sat out in the sun yesterday but burnt my shoulders idiot 🙄 didn't even seem that hot and it was cloudy so I thought I could get away with it lol. I am so excited as I'm going shopping tomorrow for the first time in months and I am going to raid some charity shops!! X

sargeantsaltnpepper89 · 19/04/2021 10:57

@milkyway91 ahh thank u!💖 yes definitely!! My prior pregnancies weren't the most enjoy due to underlying problems or having hypermesis so I'm so happy I've so far been for the most part ok ! I actually noted to my husband the other day that I feel like I have so much more of my energy back, which I most definitely did not have with my last pregnancy!😅 and Is very much a welcomed sight when looking after my 15month old 😂 I'll have a wee look just now and see if I can find it it was honestly a godsend, we also had a snuzpod which was also fab but we just kept that in our bedroom and had a moses basket for other side of the house (we have a large house so just made sense rather than traipse them to different rooms) other thing I found invaluable especially in the early days when you changing constantly and if your feeding was I purchased a nappy caddy , I managed to get a huge one off amazon for a pittance and it was excellent I still use it now in DD wardrobe for her nappies hair bows socks etc but at the start it was great for holding nappies, bags, creams and when feeding it was good for storing my creams and snacks etc and definitely have a changing mat upstairs and down makes life so much easier! X

I can't find exact one but these are the closest I could find that are similar.
I honestly couldn't have been without mine at times, they are quiet deceiving in size.
We have a big living room so it was ok but depending on the size of the room you intend to you it in I would bare that I mind, but over all it was great especially when u need to get on and get other things done and u can't babywear or don't want to put them in a rocker etc (especially when trying move ),but that brings me to another thing that is great ... BABY SLING!! I kid you not once I started using mine around the house I was like how have I ever managed without this 😅makes life so much easier especially at the start let's you move about the house do what u need to do and half the time baby is asleep because their all cozy in beside you.
We had lots of cluster feeding and constant needs for skin to skin at the start so this by far saved my sanity 🤣and depending where u are, if in scotland you'll get one free in your baby box .. I purchased my own one and it was great ( but they can be expensive, especially for ones that actually look nice😒)but I honestly could have kicked myself as when the one from baby box arrived it was amazing so soft DD loved being in it and my stupidly expensive Sling just sat there unless we were out for the day, and even then I would mostly use my box one, much to DH annoyance as he wasn't keen on spending couple of hundred pounds on said sling in the first place 😅😂x

sargeantsaltnpepper89 · 19/04/2021 11:28

@MyGrassIsBrowner thanks lovely!🥰 New due date is the 17th of October, so nice to have an idea now when LO is due!. Glad your also starting to feel better 💖 nothing better than when your sickness stops and you feel human again 😅.. sunburns horrible!! Hope its not to sore!! I swear by sudocrem! We were in Mexico couple of years back and my silly husband decided to fry himself and it helped him so much!! That and after sun with aloe (popped in the fridge) and cold compresses by the following day he was fine x

MyGrassIsBrowner · 19/04/2021 12:10

@sargeantsaltnpepper89 that's lovely that you now have your proper due date! Well it was fairly cloudy yesterday over us and I wasn't particularly too hot but since I havent been out in so long my skin isnt used to it haha! I'll definitely try sudocrem I have a massive tub of it for my DD lol!! X

sargeantsaltnpepper89 · 19/04/2021 12:17

@MyGrassIsBrowner your skins more sensitive and more prone to burning when you pregnant believe it or not its due to the increased hormone levels and changes in pigmentation, that why some women get pregnancy mask aswell .. I personally suffer from the latter so I'm like a vampire during pregnancy and when the suns out 😂😂 don't have it as yet this time so hopefully can avoid it 🤞 but seriously not looking forward to the summer 🙈so glad we won't be going away abroad as usual this year as the thought of being heavily pregnant in the sun sounds rather unpleasant 😅 will stick to a lodge up north hopefully somewhere cold... and with snow 😆🤣x

MyGrassIsBrowner · 19/04/2021 12:32

@sargeantsaltnpepper89 well I'm pale as a fricking ghost in general anyway so could do with a bit of colour 🤣 but I should be more careful lol.
I haven't been abroad for years and I'd love to be on a sun lounger right now having a dip in the pool 😌 however, being in 20+ degrees weather whilst heavily pregnant is giving me nightmares 😆 we're definitely sticking to cottage breaks in the UK this year. I'd love to go to Scotland though! X

sargeantsaltnpepper89 · 19/04/2021 12:56

@MyGrassIsBrowner I feel you! I'm like casper too!😂 my DH is the opposite has a lovely tan and dark hair so when were on holiday its a real sight if I don't ta beforehand 🤣 I remember many many years ago on holiday my hubby said to me that when I came back up from the beach to where we were sitting he suddenly realised how white I was as everyone else had lovely tans and I stood like a sore thumb😂😂remember getting some funny looks to🙈😅 have learned my lesson since then lol beside he calls it the pale and interesting look I call the death becomes her look 🤣 aww you most definitely should come to Scotland if restrictions allow as there is some lovely place to holiday were very lucky up her but that being said there is some equally as beautiful places down in England aswell x

MyGrassIsBrowner · 19/04/2021 13:25

@sargeantsaltnpepper89 oh you poor sod I know the feeling though. Takes me ages to get a good tan as well I'm envious of those who can sit in the sun for an hour and turn a whole different shade 🤣
Luckily for me my DH is pale as well so he can't take the piss haha!!
Scotland is definitely on my go to list my mum went to Loch Lomond and said it was lovely.
I love the countryside and being out in the sticks so I'd be happy going somewhere really remote.
We usually go to the Lakes but we are going to explore the Yorkshire dales as it's a little closer to home especially with having a toddler and baby!! 🙈 x

Missreginafalange · 19/04/2021 16:11

Hi all, hope everyone is doing well? Good to see some more scans and can't wait to see some more for those having them soon.

I got the results back from my NIPT screening and all came back as very low risk phew

Cpr12 · 19/04/2021 16:41

@missreginafalange fab news! I still haven't heard but it has almost been 2 weeks so assuming all is well!

Got my first obstetrics appointment tomorrow morning. A bit apprehensive, but really hope I get a scan! I am now at the stage where I dont feel pregnant at all so worried everything is ok in there. Please tell me I am not alone in still worrying 🙈

Juicytoot287 · 19/04/2021 18:05

With enough nagging i finally have my scan booked in for friday!!!!!! Bonus- partners can come too if we get tested so just trying to find a test site open after work atm.

Cpr12 · 19/04/2021 19:33

@juicytoot287 that is good, although not that you had to nag for it! Fingers crossed he manages to get a test to come with you! xx

Jl2020 · 19/04/2021 19:43

@Missreginafalange glad your results came back ok :)

@Juicytoot287 yay you finally got a scan booked!! Are you able to order a lateral flow test and do them yourself or does it have to be the other test?

@Cpr12 hope everything goes ok tomorrow!
You are definitely not alone in worrying I'm sure.

My first scan is Wednesday morning and I'll be 13 weeks, everytime I think about it I just have a sinking feeling something is going to be wrong again and can't shake it. Wish I could just keep thinking positive but struggling at the moment x
