Thought it would be nice to have a thread going for those in the final stretch Smile

Starting to analyse every little twinge now. Knicker checking every time I use the loo like the early days. Braxton hicks every night too. Wondering how much longer I’ll be! This is my last pregnancy so I’m in no rush for it to end, but at the same time can’t wait to meet little one. 37+3 today!

How are you feeling?

So happy to hear that Smile hope u are all safe and well 💗
So who left on the thread is still waiting? Smile

KO2018 · 20/03/2021 10:14

Congrats @PowPurry !! @Wavescrashingonthebeach I’m still here. I had some back pains last night and thought that might be starting but nope this morning just normal again.

The only thing I had is some slight pinkness in my pants. Slightly. That’s it!

Good luck everyone :)

JemNo66 · 20/03/2021 10:32

Also still here! Today’s the equivalent day I started labour with my DC1 so interested to see if DC2 follows the same pattern... Everything about this pregnancy has been different though so I don’t think it will. Fed up of the misleading cramps though! Hope you’re all doing ok x

KO2018 · 20/03/2021 10:45

@JemNo66 I feel you getting fed up of feeling like an unexploded bomb. I had to turn my phone off yesterday, people are messaging me all the time now I’m overdue.

Even then, I literally had a neighbour knocking on the window and pointing to my bump through the glass!!!

Jasmine9835 · 20/03/2021 10:57

@PowPurry congratulations! Great news 😊

I’m still here, pains and niggles have increased over the past few days but still no obvious signs that labour is close, getting thoroughly fed up now, had a 5 day old baby at this time of my pregnancy with DS 😭

Nicecupofteaandacake · 20/03/2021 11:07

We’re in Monday for the section - 37 weeks today. I’m so so bloody glad he’s being evicted on Monday I’m loosing the will to live!

calimommy · 20/03/2021 13:24

Omg @KO2018 I'd absolutely hate that! I got a text from a neighbour I don't know congratulating me on the pregnancy recently and it pissed me off because she had obviously been told by our self-appointed street admin who does a bloody newsletter. Just waiting for her to ask if she can put it in the next newsletter and I'll say no thanks.

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 20/03/2021 13:30

Not long left for the rest of us and once again congrats to OP & the other Mum's who are ahead of us!
This is my first baby so its all new to me! Got period cramps today but I've had them on and off. Hoping its soon!
@calimommy that would be hilarious if it wasnt so irritating! Is this a lockdown thing this whole neighbourhood newsletter? I know a lot of neighbourhoods have started these odd little communities due to lockdown- for better or worse!
I've been on my estate 3 years and you cant fart without everyone knowing haha!

calimommy · 20/03/2021 14:01

@Wavescrashingonthebeach no she's always been at it. We are here 2 yrs and maybe one more. She is well meaning but we move so often that I cba getting invested with neighbours anymore. I'm happy to chat and be friendly, take in a bin or two but I'm not interested in the constant stuff she organises: Halloween parades, valentine card drop offs, painting nights etc etc. She does lots of little kid stuff like play street parties -her children are in university. I hate when women can't let go of the small child stage. I love my children and like doing stuff with them but I definitely won't be one of those women going on about how much they miss it all the time -it just comes off as pathetic. Also they forget how tedious it can be and the sleep deprivation (I don't make children or babies who sleep 😂💀) Move on. Wow ok that was a rant haha sorry!!

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 20/03/2021 14:08

@calimommy

Haha no she definitely does sound a bit too much!!!! I love my neighbours and it is lovely that we all look out for each other, but to be honest if/when i evenually move i wont get as involved as i have done here. I get roped into all kinds for them, and people think nothing of knocking for trivial favours if they see my car is home.
Im seriously considering putting a "Do not disturb" sign on my front door once im home from the hospital! Cause i dont want people thinking just cause its daytime its ok to knock when me and baby could both be asleep!

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 20/03/2021 14:09

And rant away @calimommy we need something to help while away this waiting limbo 😂

calimommy · 20/03/2021 14:17

@Wavescrashingonthebeach that's not a bad idea. It's different now with restrictions etc. but people think you are game for 24/7 visitors with a new baby. If I haven't called ahead I tend to just drop things on the door step and leave because I know how annoying it is to answer the door half dressed when you've just managed to get the baby down.

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 20/03/2021 15:44

@calimommy

Oh this wouldnt even be for visitors about the baby one of my neighbours is an old man bordering on CF territory & he asks for help with things like ringing the council or can i look something up for him on the internet etc. I am pretty certain me having a newborn wont stop him knocking! Like i could be reading in bed at 9pm at night and cause my lights on he thinks its ok to knock!

Bec1710 · 20/03/2021 21:43

Congratulations @PowPurry! Looks like I may follow close behind you, my waters broke about half an hour ago and keep on leaking.

Been told to go to sleep and things should begin happening overnight eek Shock x

Llamasally · 20/03/2021 21:57

37 weeks today and OMG I’m sooooo done, and YY to everyone on the lightning crotch, it’s becoming debilitating!

ew1990 · 20/03/2021 23:58

Not read any new replies yet but went in Thursday for waters broke baby girl born Thursday night 9:55pm, didn't need drip as progressed on my own 2 hour labour. Hope everyone's doing OK and I look forward to hearing about new babies

KO2018 · 21/03/2021 06:38

Morning and congrats @ew1990 !!
I think I’m on the way now, my good old mucus plug has def gone and having regular cramps throughout last night.

Let’s see what happens in the next day or so but I reckon I have finally started!

tinatsarina · 21/03/2021 14:34

Congrats for everyone who had their babies. I'll be 38 weeks on Tuesday. Some cramps, stronger BH but keeps disappearing. Constant backache, either dull and always there or sciatica plays up on my left side, so over this now.

PowPurry · 21/03/2021 19:39

Well all in all I think this has been a successful thread!
Soo excited for those who look like they are approaching labour! You’ve got this!
Those still waiting.. hang on in there. They are totally worth it. I PROMISE!

Thank you for the congrats, 2 day old DS is just scrumptious. Mad to think he technically should still be in my belly.

All the talk up thread about sweeps too, I think I made a mistake in getting one. However I was genuinely worried about his movements so was keen to try and get him to come out.
I think that’s what started the absolute rollercoaster that was my 4th labour.
In my head i was petrified of it happening quickly like no.3, when it was the total opposite. My body might of been ready but I don’t think he was.
On off contractions pretty much instantly from the sweep. Getting regular and more painful, then further apart, then they’d stop. Repeat. For 3 days. Our hospital is 30-40 mins away and we have made around 8 trips back and forth.
Waters broke early hours Thursday so expected things to get going. They didn’t. Advised to have a home birth - he didn’t come. Induction booked as over 24 hours. Thank god my body and he did it’s thing and labour picked up literally as I got to the labour suite for the drip. All’s well that ends well.

Any questions anyone has I’ll try and get on to respond. Spending tomorrow in bed skin to skin as have been back and for hospital as my liver and infection markers have been up but I’ll try my best to get on. Good luck everyone. Smile

Baby girl arrived this morning in my dream water birth (compared to my DS who was induced which led to requiring ventouse/episiotomy). Still in shock that she is here 12 days early!

Fingers crossed not too long for you all too xx
