I am not quite ready to join the October group yet . I found out I was pregnant at 10dpo and confirmed with a frer 11dpo and 12dpo. No symptoms so far bar feeling really tired. Anyone else want to join me ? This is my first pregnancy so hoping all goes smoothly ❤

@lockdownbabyx that’s amazing!! 🤍 I’ve got one more to take to see the 3+ would you wait a week then take it? Or leave it a bit longer?
Oo god I cried in the shower yesterday, happy tears! 😂

Does any one know any info on early private scans? I remember reading that there are some that don’t tell you if there’s anything wrong. I just didn’t know what to look for in the companies that offer them before I book one?

lockdownbabyx · 20/02/2021 20:53

@NW2021 yes I have aswell, I was thinking of maybe doing it same time next week.
Haha glad I'm not alone, I just feel so emotional.

I have a scan booked with the epu at 6 weeks anyway but there is a place near me in Norwich called window to the womb. They are very good and I'm pretty sure they have clinics dotted around the country. I think they are about £75 xx

lockdownbabyx · 20/02/2021 20:56

Sorry it's £79, they're very good though! ☺️ x

@lockdownbabyx that was my thinking as well, hopefully get our 3+ next weekend 🥰

Oo brill! I’ll have a look. You’ll have to let us know how everything goes at your 6 week 🤍

lockdownbabyx · 20/02/2021 21:29

@NW2021 oh I hope so! I would frame it I think 😂.

Yeah I definitely will! Let me know if you book an early scan too ☺️ These next couple of weeks are going to go so slow! Xx

NW2021 · 20/02/2021 21:36

@lockdownbabyx tell me about it!! I want to enjoy the next 8mths but also want to get these first weeks out the way 😬 I think an early scan will defo help hearing the heart beat 🥰 🤞🏻

Garman · 20/02/2021 21:43

I've never heard of early scan places that don't tell you if something is wrong, but I'm in Ireland so it could be different in UK. I've had 3 early private scans, 6-7 weeks on each pregnancy. I think I'll leave it until the 12 week scan this time.

1992EM · 21/02/2021 07:13

@NW2021 it is such a good feeling, isn't it. I think it just confirms all is ok for now . I am not doing the other one until 6 weeks as have heard they are bad for not showing 3 + straight away . I did another frer today and it came up before the control line and is just as dark. I actually find the cheapies show a better progression . I am going to stop testing now until the weekend . 🤣 (if I can stop myself ) Sorry I don't no about early scans. I don't think we are going to get one just now but if all goes well might get one later on. I am desperate to see that their is definitely a baby there 🤣🤣. I don't think I have any close by and as we are in a lockdown. I am not sure I would be allowed to travel 🙈
@lockdownbaby Congratulations ❤ It is such a good feeling . I honestly expected 1 to 2 weeks on mine but glad we are all.similar dates and are showing this. I am an emotional wreck too. I keep having vivid dreams that I wake up crying at 🤣. I need to catch up on this today so thanks for the warning ⚠️ 😅
@Garman Do the early scans show much? I think I am just going to wait until 12 weeks as well and maybe get a private one at a different point .

Anyone else really struggling to sleep ? I am so tired but then when I go to bed I can't sleep and it isn't helped by the fact I need to get up to go to the toilet sometimes too 🙈 I don't know if it is pregnancy or lockdown doing it . I am going back to work after WFH since Christmas so need to get back into a better routine 😅 x

Garman · 21/02/2021 08:06

@1992EM from 6-7 weeks on the scans so show stuff, earlier than that you might just see yolk sac or similar. From 6.5-7 weeks a heartbeat should be clear if it's there and a tiny shape, but it's really tiny in reality, like 4-5mm. 8-9 weeks on would should much better even though it's still tiny. Mine gave me false security last time so I'm just going to wait until the 12 week one for confirmation if it's still there and well.

Garman · 21/02/2021 08:08

Oh and in our lockdown you can travel to essential/medical appointments so we can still get early scans, not sure about your restrictions obviously.

I'm sleeping terribly too but that's just lockdown, no routine and small children doing it! We will be exhausted next week when schools go back and have to be up at 7!

1992EM · 21/02/2021 08:20

@Garman Thank you , I think ill just wait it out and hope for the best x

@Garman I read a few articles that the bbc did last year about some place didn’t have qualified sonography people (sorry that’s probs not the technical term for it) but I’ve found one near me that’s registered and qualified 🥰

@1992EM we’ve worked out that my OH won’t actually be here for the 12 weeks scan because he works away 😔 so I think we’ll defo go at 9 weeks and pay just so he can see everything 🥰🤞🏻

Omg I thought it was just me being so so tired all day then get to bed and I just can’t sleep! The tiredness for me is the biggest thing right now.

lockdownbabyx · 21/02/2021 09:18

Morning all,

My tiredness isn't that bad now, was worse when I was 9-10dpo. Now my boobs are SO painful and I'm hungry all the time haha. I keep getting the odd cramp too but they only ever last a few seconds so I'm trying not to panic about it, easier said than done!

Have any of you told anyone yet other than your OH? I'm dying to tell my mum but I know she will worry xx

Garman · 21/02/2021 09:49

@NW2021 can partners go to hospital appts/scans where you are if there's Covis restrictions?

I haven't even told my DH yet @lockdownbabyx ! 🙈 If you want to tell your mum do, but I'm the same I hate people worrying so don't tell anyone for ages.

lockdownbabyx · 21/02/2021 09:53

@Garman when are you planning on telling him? I've told her with my other 3 pregnancies but they all ended in MC. I'd love to wait until 12 weeks and be able to surprise her knowing everything is ok. I just hope I can wait that long lol xx

Garman · 21/02/2021 09:56

I don't know when I plan on telling him, I didn't plan on not telling him, I'm just waiting for af to come or if its a very early miscarriage I'll tell him then, I just don't want to deal with getting his hopes up too if it's for nothing. Sometimes I think I'll wait until an 8 week scan and then tell him either way, sometimes I think I'll tell him today or tomorrow. I've no nausea yet and that usually floors me so for now I'm still in total denial outside of mumsnet!

lockdownbabyx · 21/02/2021 10:08

Ah bless you I totally understand. I think men get carried away with the excitement too don't they? My OH keeps wanting to talk about names and I have to say stop it's too early for that. I hope the next few weeks to quick for us all, this is worse than the TWW 😂 xx

1992EM · 21/02/2021 10:47

@nw2021 It is so hard to fall asleep. I have started reading before bed and going to bed later but nothing helps 😅. I went to bed at 11 and was still awake at 1 am . I then wake up really early too . 🙈 I would definitely do it, if my partner couldn't get to the 12 weeks one.

@lockdownbaby I told my partner but nobody else yet and nobody even knows we are trying. I am desperate to tell my Mum but also terrified too. I am a rubbish liar too so lockdown will help in that sense . I have another family member who is pregnant too and ahead of us and don't really want to take away from their experience, especially if something was to happen . I had to tell someone though . Not that my oh has a clue about all the symptoms or emotions etc but it was good just to say those words . Oh I know never mind the tww , I feel like it has been a lifetime and it hasn't even been a week since finding out 😅.
@Garman I totally understand the worry. This is our first pregnancy and I feel so anxious so I can't imagine how it would be after a mc 😔 ❤ I am literally taking it a day at a time. I have now officially missed my period so next goal is 5 weeks .

Oh my goodness the emotions and tiredness have really hit me today, I can barely get out of bed and keep crying.
@1992EM I've got to go back to work next week after WFH since Christmas too, I'm going to have to get myself in gear for that!
I've told a couple of people, who I told about going for the IVF (FET), my mum and a couple of close friends. Also had to tell work because I had to have appointments etc, so mine's not much of a secret!

1992EM · 21/02/2021 10:52

Anyone got advice on cleaning products? I cleaned my house yesterday without really thinking. I always open windows and wear gloves etc. I only use bleach in the toilet and fabulosa mostly everywhere else. Especially with covid I anti bac everything . I then read bleach is bad 🙈. Does anyone have an alternative to cleaning toilets? I have found method which is ok during pregnancy but not a toilet cleaner . I actually really enjoy cleaning and my oh has said he will do it but I still would like to have an alternative. x

Can I (tentatively) join. Got my BFP on Friday, now 12DPO. I've previously had a MC in November last year.
I've had some brown spotting yesterday and today so I'm not sure how hopeful I am. Think I might ring the doctors tomorrow and request a blood test to check if my HCG is increasing as it should. Has anyone done this before? Hoping they don't just fob me off!

1992EM · 21/02/2021 11:21

@els10 Congratulations ❤ I am getting bloods done this week to check vit b12 and folic acid levels. (I have had low levels before ) I told them I was pregnant but they didn't seem interested at all. I am going to ask when I go in if they will take one while they are doing it anyway. It is worth a shot and I hope your doctors are more supportive . I haven't booked in yet as waiting until 6 weeks to do that x

OP posts:
lockdownbabyx · 21/02/2021 11:40

@1992EM I have no idea but I'm interested to see the replies also! I was thinking this when cleaning the other day. Same as you I always have the window open when using bleach etc but I'm still curious.

@els10 congratulations! From my experience, doctors aren't usually concerned if it's brown as this is generally old blood. It's when it turns red that they seem to offer a scan. Keep an eye on it ☺️ xx

1992EM · 21/02/2021 11:44

@lockdownbaby I have just done some research and bicarbonate of soda and white vinegar are a safe alternative. I think it will be ok as I don't use bleach daily and always well ventilated . I might wear a mask since I have 5000 of them 🤣. I think my oh will be glad when I tell other people as I will spread my paranoia around 🤣🤣 x

@Garman yeah the private one they’re allowed to come to, it says on the website. Not sure about NHS though.

@lockdownbabyx we told our parents yesterday. With OH working away, god for bid anything happened to me I need someone to call who knows. I’m really close with my mum and sister so couldn’t keep it in 😬 had to tell them.

@els10 congratulations 🎉 🤍
