@Monstermunch87 I am so uncomfortable at night, hips and back ache constantly.

Baby has started to more more now I have felt him quite a lot the last 2 days.

My hospital rang me today and booked me in for a fetal echo next tuesday so I get a scan next tuesday and the following Wednesday :) lucky me!

Hope everyones scans go ok x

MF1981 · 05/05/2021 19:57

Congrats @Kiza 💙

Yeah I’ve got my head around having twins now but every now and again I do have a little panic. I know nothing about babies!

Kiza · 05/05/2021 20:25

@anniee8ava I've noticed similar that during the day I seem to be ok but then when evening comes around uncomfortableness appears. I wondered if it's due to being busy during the day with work?
That's amazing that you're feeling movement already! I'm 17+ 1 and haven't felt a thing yet, will be so bizarre when I do.

@MF1981 yeah I can only imagine the head space needed for twins! I'm pretty sure you'll learn fast enough once they arrive 😆 I can't imagine how much we will freak out those first few days home alone with a newborn 🤦🏼‍♀️

Aozora13 · 06/05/2021 19:56

Hi all just checking in to see how everyone is getting on. I had my mid-pregnancy scan today and it’s… a girl! Now just need to come up with a name for DD3!

Also found out my placenta is low which means follow up scans at 32 and 36 weeks and possible c-section if it’s not moved. Not had this in previous pregnancies- does anyone have any experience? I’m feeling pretty chilled about it, which is weird but I’m normally entirely neurotic!

And happy to have now booked a Pfizer jab for Saturday after much ringing round! Happy half way everyone 👶

MF1981 · 06/05/2021 20:17

Is anyone else just crazy hungry all the time?!

Monstermunch87 · 06/05/2021 21:44

@MF1981 Yes! So hungry. I have to bring snacks with me everywhere I go

@Aozora13 Oh brilliant, how did you go about getting the vaccine? I’m 33 so still way off being offered :( but I want to get on the list as soon as I possibly can!! Congratulations 🥳 were you hoping for a girl?

Aozora13 · 07/05/2021 09:10

@Monstermunch87 vaccine was a bit of a palaver - I just turned 40 so got called up but because you can only have Pfizer or Moderna when preggo was told by the mass vaccination line to go via GP, who insisted they have nothing to do with vaccines and sent me to NHS England, who said I need a GP referral. As soon as I explained that to the GP they leapt into action and I got a call the next day to book. I hope by the time you young whippersnappers get called up they’ll have fixed the glitch - I expect as we’re a niche group the system just isn’t quite prepared yet!

As I have 2 DDs already was kind of expecting another girl! I was surprised that I had a little flash of sadness that I’ll never have a son (this is 100% last baby!) but it was more in a “one door opens, another door closes” kind of way if that makes sense, and I’m now busily seeking girl names and wondering how much new baby stuff I can get away with buying! I’ve lost track a bit - do you know what you’re expecting?

@MF1981 the only time I’ve stopped eating since about 6 weeks is when I’m asleep... gotta keep out strength up though Grin

Cisco2 · 07/05/2021 14:50

Hi how is everyone doing? I had my 20 week scan yesterday and baby is going fine we also found out we’re having a girl - really thought it would be a boy but equally so so pleased baby is well.

@Aozora13 I could have written the exact same message! I too also Also found out my placenta is low and will be having follow up scans at 32. I have a consultant appointment next week to find out more but the sonographer did mention if placenta is still lying low at 32 weeks and again at 36 weeks the. possible c-section. I’ve not had this in previous pregnancies- so keen to find out if anyone else has had this experience?

Cisco2 · 07/05/2021 14:53

Also for those who haven’t told their employer/work when are you planning to? I won’t get my matb1 until I have my glucose test at 28 weeks. Contacted midwife and she says she can arrange for me to pick it up either next week or week after. I just don’t want to leave it any longer as I need to tell work before I’m 25 weeks (ideally 24)

Aozora13 · 07/05/2021 15:09

@Cisco2 snap! Congrats you’re having a girl too, and sorry about the placenta! My sonographer was very nice and reassuring, saying it’s fine 90% of the time. So I’m focusing on the fact I get 2 bonus scans this time.

I already told work - had a bleed at 10 weeks so told my boss then. I haven’t quite figured out about picking up my mat1b form but currently working out how early I can finish as have really lost my work mojo lately.

LunaDreams · 10/05/2021 12:23

Good luck to all those having scans this week. I'm starting to feel quite nervous about mine!

Stretchedfortime · 10/05/2021 17:50

Hello. Hope it's ok if I join. I'm almost 22 weeks but feeling exhausted. Is anyone else the same? I am in my 40s so I guess it is just more tiring at this time of life but I feel like I'm so much bigger this time. And I've got a 4 year old to run around with and it's v tiring! Hope everyone is ok post scans.

MrsTD88 · 11/05/2021 13:49

Hey @Stretchedfortime congratulations! I am exhausted too, 20+1. I don't remember feeling this tired last time but also have a 4 year old and working full time (split between home and office currently). Have you found out the gender?

Stretchedfortime · 11/05/2021 13:59

Thank you @MrsTD88 and congratulations to you! Yes we've found out that it's a girl. And that's great as we already have a boy. I'm feeling better today as I slept OK. So I guess it might be a case of some good days and some bad days. It is lovely to know someone else is running around after a kid and is past-40. Hope your day is OK today.

MrsTD88 · 11/05/2021 14:11

@Stretchedfortime ah we're having a girl too! Will be second girl for us. Glad you're feeling better today, think it is definitely a case of good and bad days. I'm in my 30s but still knackered, working away at home today but will soon be ready to collect our little one from nursery.

Stretchedfortime · 11/05/2021 14:13

@MrsTD88 oops, sorry for prematurely ageing you! I'm currently imagining that girls are easier but I'm also pretty sure I will come to realise I was wrong about that! Full-time work, parenthood and pregnancy is an interesting challenge!

MrsTD88 · 12/05/2021 12:51

@Stretchedfortime it is certainly a challenge!

LunaDreams · 13/05/2021 16:06

@Kate105 how did your scan go? Hope everyone else's went well

anniee8ava · 13/05/2021 16:28

I ended up having my anomaly scan yesterday after being refered to FMU as baby has a little hole in his heart like his sister. All is good though. He is measuring in the 90th centile for almost everything though, girls were 8lb and 8lb 4 so I'm expecting him to be bigger! Hope all is ok for everyone else :)

Monstermunch87 · 13/05/2021 16:44

I had my anomaly scan today- it’s a Girl! Anterior placenta but otherwise fortunately very boring and normal 🙂

Kate105 · 13/05/2021 19:37

Hey, my 20 week scan also went well today, all healthy etc but have to go back in 2 weeks to try again and finish off because the little bugger wouldn’t show it’s face to the nice sonographer 😂🙈 much jiggling around in the waiting room to try and get it to shift but not happening...
We’re not finding out what we’re having... Thought I’d worked out it was a boy from my own scan interpretation until the sonographer said “so that’s the ventricle inside the heart” 😂😂😂

LunaDreams · 14/05/2021 07:24

@Kate105 @Monstermunch87 @anniee8ava positive news all round then! Mine went well, baby looking well and reassuringly average! Took them about 20 minutes to get the heart images they wanted so that was slightly stressful but all good in the end. They confirmed he's definitely a boy!

Feels strange we might not see them now until birth unless you need growth scans etc

Mrsserenalewis · 15/05/2021 10:55

How exciting we are had our scans. Certainly feels a bit more real.

Has everyone got a bump now. Has any had the glucose test at 28 weeks before.

Has anyone got any more scans lined up before baby arrival.

I already have 2boys and a girl. I would say from my experience girls are harder or maybe just more head strong xx

Who’s feeling movement x

OP posts:
anniee8ava · 15/05/2021 11:14

This baby has not stopped moved today and yesterday it's so lovely to feel something now regularly. No more scans for me, cant believe I am half way through and everyone's scans are all good, such good news!
