@Kiza yes community groups. I’m in SE London and we have loads. Plus someone will usually post a Mum’s FB group too Smile

Aozora13 · 24/04/2021 12:08

@Cisco2 I’m in SE London too and Mummy’s Gin Fund on FB came to my rescue many a time especially with DC1! I’m terrible with classes though. Didn’t go to anything with DC2 except a few sessions at the breastfeeding group, but that’s because she had a tongue tie. Went to Baby Bells, stuff at the library and did some Pilates with DC1 but basically didn’t really enjoy it as am an antisocial toad and perfectly happy chilling in the park or binge watching box sets with my baps out!

I’ve been forbidden to discuss names with DH until we find out the sex. My scan is on 6 May so not long now...

Kiza · 24/04/2021 13:59

Thanks Ladies. Have booked a private scan end of next week so we can find out the gender together. Not that I'm bothered either way, after 3 years TTC and IVF I'm grateful for anything!

MrsTD88 · 24/04/2021 15:57

@Kiza how exciting!! We had our private gender scan this morning.... a GIRL!!! X

anniee8ava · 24/04/2021 16:40

Congratulations @MrsTD88! Lovely news.

Hope you ladies are feeling well. I have a really odd complaint in that my right knee has been painful for the last 3 weeks on/off. I wake up some nights in agony for 5 minutes then it gets better. I'm sure it's down to hormones and the relaxing of joints but I have never had it before with the girls strange xx

Cisco2 · 24/04/2021 19:29

@Aozora13 hey fellow SE Londoner Smile agree Mummy’s Gin Fund has been amazing (and still is!) I’d be lost without it! I have my 20 week scan on 6th too we might be at the same hospital..

@MrsTD88 congrats!

Aozora13 · 25/04/2021 18:07

@Cisco2 that’s so funny! Need a secret MN signal or something!

Mrsserenalewis · 29/04/2021 05:30

How are you all. Excited for 20 week scan. How’s your baby bumps coming along.

For those who know the sex of baby. Is the baby clothes shopping started

What buggy have you chosen x

MrsTD88 · 29/04/2021 09:05

@Mrsserenalewis I'm starting to get nervous for my 20 week scan, just want it to be here already. Mine is on 17 May at 21 weeks. How long until yours? I've not done any proper clothes shopping yet, trying to hold off until after the 20 week scan but I may end up giving in!

We still have my daughter's old pram, it is in great condition and was barely used because she was so long. It is a Hauck travel system so the car seat attaches to it too which is handy. Will probably get a new buggy when the time comes though as that part is well used. X

anniee8ava · 29/04/2021 11:22

My 20 week scan is 19th may :) so I'm 17 weeks and 5 days currently. Is anyone feeling any movements? I think I may have felt something for the first time yesterday but not 100%. My placenta is anterior so I know they might not be as early or easily detected.

I am also suffering with a bad back but it has got better as the week has gone by, hoping it goes completely by the weekend but I have ordered a bump band for support.

The only clothes I have bought is a 0-3 unisex bundle from FB so far. I'll buy my own stuff when I have had the anomaly scan. I have started to buy cloth nappies though.

MF1981 · 29/04/2021 14:19

I'd love to join! Currently 16+4 with twins due on 10th October but likely to be delivered no later than 20th September (37 weeks).

LunaDreams · 29/04/2021 17:06

My 20 week scan is on 13th May so 2 weeks today! We had a private scan at 16 weeks so I known we're having a boy :)

I did actually buy my pram at about 8 weeks pregnant as got it on such a good offer but have held off buying anything else until 20 week scan.

My anxiety has been quite bad so I'm feeling very nervous bit also excited for it.

I also thought I felt something last weekend but nothing since so hopefully soon. Am 18 weeks today

Kate105 · 29/04/2021 20:20

Hi everyone I'm also very much counting down to the 20 week scan! I'm on 13th May so same as @LunaDreams 🥰 looking forward to it! Haven't done much shopping- I want to wait until the scan - but have got an Oyster 3 pram because I got a good deal from a work colleague selling hers, and also bought some cloth nappies @anniee8ava. Complete novice with those so keeping everything crossed they work for me 🤞🏻😬

I'm feeling good although I do get tired! And a few flutters here and there but nothing much as yet...

MrsTD88 · 30/04/2021 07:17

@MF1981 Congratulations on having twins, that's amazing! I'm due to have a section at 39 weeks which will be 20 September too.

MF1981 · 30/04/2021 07:33

Thanks @MrsTD88 you’re a couple of weeks ahead of me then but we’ll have our babies around the same time - exciting!

Mrsserenalewis · 04/05/2021 18:39

@MrsTD88 mines on the 11th. I’ll be 20weeks. I can’t wait. Feel the weight is to long.
That’s wonderful you already have a buggy. Saves a lot of money.
I can’t stop buying clothes 🙈

@anniee8ava I had this. I felt baby early on around 15weeks. Then stop feeling around 17weeks. Started feeling again yesterday I’m 19weeks today. I think it’s because they still have a lot of room and they changed position. Have you felt baby since.

@MF1981 congratulations on expecting twins. How you feeling about twins.

@LunaDreams how you feeling

How are the rest of you lovely ladies xx

Moominmiss · 04/05/2021 18:58

Hello everyone!

So many scans coming up soon!

I had my 20 week scan last week, was lovely to see baby again, he clearly didn’t fancy making it easy for the sonographer who ended up scanning me for an hour to get all the measurements and views she needed to!

We’ve now bought a fair bit, including the pram, car seat, bedside crib, and clothes etc.

I have an anterior placenta but have been feeling little pops for quite a while now. They’re definitely stronger now though and I do feel him every evening once I sit down for the day and relax. The little kicks to my bladder aren’t so nice though when it makes me instantly need the loo!

I have my first consultant appointment in a couple of weeks (due to having had 3 previous c sections). Just feels like there’s now a humongous wait from now. No scans to look forward to.

Just midwife appointments and a glucose tolerance test!

I do have a home Doppler though so I do listen in to his heartbeat most days.

Kiza · 04/05/2021 19:04

@MF1981 twins - wow that's amazing news! How you feeling?
Had a private scan last week and discovered we're having a boy 🥰 17 weeks today.

LunaDreams · 04/05/2021 20:00

@Mrsserenalewis I'm ok thanks. Have our 20 week scan on the 13th and can't wait to see our boy again then 🥰.

Keep thinking I can feel him but don't really know what I'm looking for and nothing consistent so who knows!

Sorry for the TMI question but has anyone else got a lot of discharge? Finding that it feels like I've wet myself most days! Confused

Monstermunch87 · 04/05/2021 20:01

Congratulations! My 20 week scan is next week and I can’t wait!! I’ve not felt any kicking yet which is making me anxious. I really hope everything is okay!
We’ve not bought anything yet, waiting for the 20 week scan first just in case.
I’ve been having real trouble sleeping. I get off to sleep okay but keep waking up with aching shoulder, hips and back. I’ve resorted to 3 pillows! Is anyone else having issues?

Kate105 · 04/05/2021 20:26

Also counting down to my scan next Thursday! 🙋🏼‍♀️ hahaha YES @LunaDreams TBH I've always had quite a lot of discharge, even before pregnancy, but it has really ramped up over the last couple of weeks! It's getting to be obscene 😂🙈

And I'm with you on the pillow situation @Monstermunch87 but have refused to buy a pregnancy pillow on principle and I love cutting off my nose to spite my face... I've got myself a V pillow which I basically ride straddle and that seems to be doing the trick. I would normally sleep on my back so can prop myself up slightly by using one arm of the V and it almost feels like I'm still on my back.

Monstermunch87 · 04/05/2021 20:43

Haha! I think I might cave and get the massive pillow but it feels a bit selfish as my over 6 foot husband will have very little room left!!

Mine is next Thursday too! Also I think we have the same due date (30th sept?) spooky!

Kiza · 04/05/2021 20:51

I'm really puzzled about the supposed free nhs antenatal classes I text my midwife and she just signposted me to an online (pre recorded) course.
I thought the nhs run their own courses from the hospital you give birth at? I feel like I bugging her with questions so don't want to go back to her querying it again. I understand Covid may still result in it being online but assumed it would be a live course where we can ask questions and take part in discussions?

Monstermunch87 · 04/05/2021 21:48

My midwife originally told me that they stopped classes when COVID happened but last time I saw her she was hopeful they might start up again this summer.

MrsTD88 · 05/05/2021 08:36

@Mrsserenalewis I'm trying to reign it in with buying clothes until after the 20 week scan but everytime I go shopping I buy something 🙈

@Momminmiss I have a GTT too, mine is at 28 weeks and then a growth scan the same day which will be nice. So glad your 20 week scan went well.

@Kiza congratulations on your boy 💙
