Evening ladies, I hope all those who have gone into labour have an easy time and their baby’s are here soon! I don’t miss any of the last parts of pregnancy although little miss Leila is kicking my ass at the moment as she does not sleep at night, if anyone remembers me saying when I was pregnant she is a night baby I was not wrong in the slightest! She was up at 4 and didn’t go back to sleep till 8.40 this morning so me and the Mr are just exhausted x

@Char41zam does'nt get any easier ehh, we struggle in the last stages of pregnancy then it continues with the newborn.
Maybe you should keep her awake more in the daytimes, wake her around every 2-3hrs hrs in the day for feeds so she sleeps longer in the nights. Xx

@Safxxx I had lightning crotch so badly in the 2-3 days before my waters broke! It kept taking my breath away, hopefully a good sign for you!
@Char41zam My little one is doing the same 😅 last night he wouldn’t stop the cycle of feed me/change me/cuddle me until nearly 3am.
Trying to shift his intense awake feeding block to a little earlier by waking him up a lot this evening, fingers crossed it works. Good luck with Leila tonight 🤞🏻

@Safxxx yeah we bathed her late tonight and she has settled in her crib for now, she will generally sleep through till about 3-4 but it’s after this time she won’t go back to sleep! She is adorable though and I’m totally smitten but would be nice if she would sleep lol x

Morning all I was really optimistic things were happening last night post sweep...had loads of lower back cramp and what I thought might be the first signs of contractions...went to bed hoping to wake up to the real deal but things seem to have subsided :-(
Anyone experienced the same with a sweep? Have Googled the living daylights out of it but would be good to hear some actual experiences. 40+6 today ...

@Dorset555 I keep getting episodes of cramps/lower back ache/tightenings that make me think something is going on. Then they subside. I guess this could go on for a while for me! I think they’re generally getting stronger though. I’ve been woken up during the night by it a few times but not much going on now, just a bit achy in my pelvis. I’m 40+3 today. Trying not to obsess but it’s so hard 🙈 x x x

I had a sweep with my first at 40+1 and had cramping / period pains for about 24 hours then labour started and she was born at 40+3! I would say that getting those cramps is a positive sign and hopefully it will all kick off today! Get as much rest as you can in the meantime xxx

Thanks both fingers crossed things kick off today i do feel so tired...Still in bed! (After getting up and watching the tennis /eating ice cream from 4am-6am). Body feels very sleepy maybe its preparing! So hard to distrct at the moment with nothing to do...oh how I'd love to go out for brunch!

@Bambino87 ah it’s good to hear about a first baby coming so near it’s due date! I just feel convinced this one will take forever. I accidentally ordered quite a spicy dinner last night so now have tried every old wives tale 🙄 I’m back in bed too listening to OH do DIY. Would love something to happen this weekend! If not, have a sweep booked at 41 week check on Tuesday. 🤞🤞🤞x x x

I know I was really lucky to go so close to my due date first time! I'm not due until the 25th but I have high expectations that I will go on time again - can't think about still being pregnant in March 🤣 take it easy & best of luck 😍 xxxx

@Dorset555 oooh going out for brunch!! Seems like a distant memory!! Yes its so hard not to obsess when there is nothing to do. I'm finding jobs that don't really need doing, putting a shelf up, re-oiling the wood floors, finishing DC2s photo album (only did up to 3 months with him hes now 23 months! 🙊)

I haven't even gotten out of bed yet, I need to wash my hair and eat but I cba with it all. I just want to sleep, luckily DH is home so I've got help with DD

@TeaPiglet I'm same as you today! Just feel exhausted got up early but now back in bed. Might force myself to get up for a walk soon x

@Jbx10 I've showered but now back in bed with my hair still wrapped in the towel haha 39wks now and feet puff up every shower time 🙈😂

Woke up this morning feeling fine, managed a shower ... since then ive just felt like death 🤢 Sore back, cramps, vomited. You'd think this would all mean something wouldnt you, week today till due date 🤞🤞

@nursey1993 I've been feeling quite sick last few days but just mild cramping. Sounds like things are moving along for you.

@TeaPiglet managed to drag myself out for a walk 😂 struggled on my usual route today though she definitely feels as though she's dropped lower x

Hey guys thanks for asking if okay. Felt like a waste of time going to the hospital but atleast I know my baby is okay. Midwife and doctor checked me over. Doctor told me not to take the antibiotics if it's causing me pain. So I didn't take them yesterday. I was worried I had a kidney infection but my urine results won't come till Monday. They checked my bloods too which was fine. I'm 38+2 or 3 but not getting any symptoms of labour yet. No braxtons hicks or anything. Only thing is the vomiting is bad. Probably need to eat less. Otherwise fine. My body hurts a lot. I'm trying to get as many steps in as I can in the house because it's too cold and frosty outside for a walk.

Anyone else eating or ate dates? I feel like I'm eating them and nothings happening. I hope they do help me with a shorter labour.

@Faithfulbird20 I'm not bothering with dates, in the past 2 days I've tried sex, cleaning, spicy food and walking so I'm convinced it's all a myth and I'm eating maltesars in bed.

Bit concerned about you being sick often, how long has it been going on now?

@TeaPiglet also in bed with a bar of dairy milk and one of those malteaser bunnies! 😋

@faithfulbird20 I'm surprised they didn't offer you anti sickness injection or tablets? I was so sick with DC2 they were a real lifeline. Something to ask for if ot gets really bad xx

@babbit87 ooh I do love them, you should try the thorntons bunnies from local shop. They're blooming tasty too

@faithfulbird20 hope its not a kidney infection and you recover soon. Did you used to have sickness earlier on in your pregnancy? If so sometimes the sickness comes back in later stages, keep yourself well hydrated. I eat dates, heard its good in labour, but more then that its got lots of nutrients and its good souce of energy too. (Not that i'm feeling any energy lol) but as a snack it definetley keeps me going alongside some mixed nuts. So although it don't bring on labour but eating them before and during is good for energy.
I've packed few in my hospital bag but knowing me i'll reach for the chocolates instead 🤣

For you ladies having tightening and contractions or braxton hicks, which part of tummy do you get it most?
I've been getting on/off pains at the top of my uterus, like a band of pain going across the back, it has'nt spread out.

@TeaPiglet oooh not tried them, ill keep an eye out! I was tempted by the kit kat bunnies too... maybe have to send DH out on a goodies mission!!
