Aha thanks @muriel84 I hate my ball and I hate dates too! Have you tried them drowed in vanilla Hagen Daz? Really quite nice!
So bizarrely I've got updates...I sent off an email to my maternity unit asking if any chance of an earlier appointment and I've received 2 calls in the last 5 mins! 1 offering me a space at the top of their acupuncture wait list and the other offering me a sweep tomorrow at 6pm! I've taken both! I'm really impressed with the service...the frustrating thing is if you don't know what you should ask for i guess you miss all this stuff. A big thank you to you guys you've prompted me to get this sorted and its working! Horray for the NHS ! Xx

@Dorset555 oh amazing! Is the acupuncture to help bring on labour? Does sound really impressive. Where are you booked? That’s so good about the sweep too hopefully it’ll help get things going over the weekend! Maybe a Valentine’s Day arrival ☺️X x x

I'm so impressed! Its the Whittington in North London. Yep acupuncture is to induce labour too - fingers crossed!
But yea unless you know what to ask for i feel you could really get very different levels of care which is a shame.
Would people recommend taking hospital stuff in the car to the appointment/s just in case...or is that wishful thinking?!?
@BABBIT87 🤣🤣🤣 now that I've got a sweep and maybe acupuncture on the horizon there is no way in the world I'm entertaining sex 😂

@Dorset555 sex totally worked for getting DC2 out if you can manage the idea of it! Sweep was what worked for DC1 though.

With DC1 I wasn't able to have a sweep till 41w then with DC2 they did it at 40+5 and now in a different trust with DC3 like I said they did offer today at 38+1 until they changed their mind and now booked for 39+1... so all totally different..! Wonder why its not more consistent?

I thinknthat All.the trusts have a certain freedom to do what they feel is best within the NICE guidelines - i feel like it does makes sense that they aren't constrained to a hard and fast one size fits all approach....but it can lead to alot of us feeling very confused over differences in advice!

I agree I think having freedom to decide and not having a hard and fast rule is definitely the best approach so wouldn't want there to be some blanket rule about how far along you need to be, but the variation without much in the way of explanation is what is interesting to me I guess!

@Muriel84 @Dorset555 some dates are not nice, i usualy buy large Medjool dates which i enjoy alongside some mixed nuts. There are other varieties which are chewy/caramel taste and are tasty too.

Don't know why in the last couple of hours been very snappy, i hate this heart burn makes my chest/breasts and upper back hurt, tummy is rock hard and the pressure from the piles hurts 😩 times like now i wish i can just go into labour straightaway, its easier said then done ehh, i say i rather wait let nature take its cause, other hand if there was a magic wand i'll bring on this labour now 😣

Anyones elses baby tucked under ribcage? Mine is head down, he's body to my right hes bum and legs under ribcage and feet on my left side of tummy.
That position increases my heart burn and pain, he's been in this position for a while but now that hes getting bigger its more uncomfortable.

@Safxxx my baby's in exactly the same position, occasionally I can actually see a D feel baby wiggling toes under my ribs

Also I would defo take my hospital bag tomorrow. Better to have it and not need it.

@Dorset555 I’ve been carrying hospital bags for my last 3 appointments (including today). As a dry run. Along with the car seat in the boot of the car. I’m just too excited 😁

@TeaPiglet I was a bit of a latecomer to the group but very happy to have found it! I was due last Sunday 7th feb...we are having a surprise...well hopefully..at my last midwife appt she declared 'so you're having a girl' ! I'm hoping she was just plucking something out of thin air and there is nothing in the notes?! Would be really annoyed if she spoiled the surprise after 40 weeks and 4 days!

@Safxxx that position is exactly the same position my little one was in the last few weeks except on the other side. Sometimes I gave a rub /encouragement and she eventually moved enough to not be entirely digging in....was a bit hit and miss but relieving when it worked x

@Dorset555 don't worry about it, there's nothing in notes and unless you ask the ultrasound person to check then they don't. I've had MW say he/she loads of times haha, it's annoying though tbh

Thank you for adding me and for the reassurance!

I think my urine infection might have turned into a kidney infection because I had really bad upper back pain, vomited and then started shivering (not sure if the shivering is due to the cold weather)...rang triage and they want to check me over so heading to hospital at 4am...I hope everything will be okay. I was feeling alright until midnight today. Even saw my MW and @Safxxx my baby is in the same position as yours. I just hope they're okay. I really want more children after this and think how will I do it.

No symptoms of labour yet though...still a waiting game...

Trust me we all say not having more children after enduring all the pains, but as soon as you hold your child its all worth it. Somehow we do it all over again, you will be fine Xxx

Well, woke up this morning to my waters breaking.. An hour before my alarm to get up and ready for my induction 😂
Very mild contractions every 10-20 mins or so, just wasting time scoffing breakfast now lol.
Can't believe the little sod waited 13 days to get a move on 😂
