@babydust2412 I know what you mean... I read somewhere the continuous cramps are your cervix effacing? I went on a walk and the cramps have settled. Just had braxton hicks while I was out. Feel a bit less sick after eating.

I feel sick every morning when I wake up at the moment until I eat my porridge. And heartburny.

Very impressed by all this nesting and cake baking... I couldn’t cope with baking a cake in our weird kitchen. It needs ripping out and replacing. Not this week tho... I would love a home baked cake

Welcome @dorset555 😊 and afternoon guys 👋 just thought I'd check in.

Proper fed up today, sooo low on energy and irritable too. Think that's probably more the fact that my due date has come and gone now, all that anticipation has disappeared now and I'm feeling a little deflated. I actually envy all the symptoms you all seem to be having! 😂 7 days over and mine seem to have all but disappeared!

Sorry for being a constant source of doom and gloom, I'm actually doing my own head in lately! 😂 X

pampero · 06/02/2021 16:47

So I had cramps for 3 nights before everything kicked in and they were like mino contractions in that I could time them to happen every 10-15 mins throughout the night each time before the main thing kicked in onnl night 4. The midwives said exactly that which is thats its sort of you body practicing/ prepping for labour so is doing good stuff such as effacing. I found this reassuring as it meant going through those 3 days first wasn't entirely for nothing!

Safxxx · 06/02/2021 16:55

@Muriel84 well he's got no choice as i try to take a daily walk so that helps keep him down, i don't think the heads engaged yet.
You and @babydust2412 are definetely showing signs of your body getting ready for labour. Xxx

Safxxx · 06/02/2021 17:00

@Dorset555 hiya welcome, hope all goes well for you and you don't have to wait too long.Xx
@ExhaustedMumofsix Awe stay strong ❤

Newmumfeb2021 · 06/02/2021 17:13

Good evening ladies! Good to hear things are progressing for some of you. Exciting times!! 🥳

I’m 37 weeks today and so glad to finally enter the stage of “waiting for my baby to pop out anytime now” ! 😊

I’m having some of these hip pains and also had period like pain earlier in the morning for an hour or so which seemed like bowel pain but wasn’t. Nothing else apart from pressure on the bladder. Don’t think my baby is engaged (too early for that) and I’m carrying high.

I still have 2 weeks before my maternity leave starts. That’s keeping me distracted. 😁

Hi @Dorset555! Hope you enjoyed your cake earlier 😋

Aw @ExhaustedMumofsix I can only imagine how you are feeling, like the after party blues, hope LO makes an appearance soon for you 💛

@Safxxx I feel like my baby is down but no idea if head is engaged either? Youd think id feel it! Hopefully ill get some good news of progress on Tuesday at MW appt.

@Newmumfeb2021 woohoo for getting to the final few weeks! Hope they are kind to you and you don't end on the roller coaster of ups and downs so many of us seem to have been going through! I know what you mean about bladder pressure... I wake in the night in pain and realise its because I need a wee! Feel totally fine after, just not enough room down in the plumbing anymore I guess 🤷🏼‍♀️

Safxxx · 06/02/2021 18:05

@babbit87 i feel like mines not engaged but he is head down, my shapes changed again? Went wider now its narrow and bulging out. I'm still getting strong BH.
Tummy has stayed rock hard. Still alot of pressure down there, feel like my bladder will burst lol

babydust2412 · 06/02/2021 18:21

@Muriel84 I've heard the same so fingers crossed that's the case 🤞🏼🧡
I'm the same, I get nauseous if I'm hungry, just like in the first trimester again, I keep breadsticks and biscuits in my bed side draw and sometimes eat a couple when I get up in the night to wee, tides me over til the morning a bit more, could be an idea? Xx

Dorset555 · 06/02/2021 18:31

Thanks guys! Wondered if anyone here has had any experience or friends that have used reflexology or acupuncture as a way of naturally inducing labour...I've heard some really positive things and the practitioners are managing to continue despite covid...my hospital even offers the acupuncture. I'm thinking might give it a try next week if no signs...although the idea of triggering labour is quite scary!
My date cake is just out of the over so trying to resist eating it till after dinner...but maybe that will trigger things:-) thats my excuse anyway...
Sending lots of positivity!

jbx10 · 06/02/2021 19:35

@Dorset555 hi welcome to the group! Hopefully your not waiting too long past your due date 🤞🏽 I've not known anyone use acupuncture & it's nothing something I've tried, but I have heard like you that it can induce labour. Could always give it a go, if it doesnt work it may still just be relaxing for you!

@Safxxx exciting it sounds like things are starting to move a long for you.

@Muriel84 agree ripping out & replacing your kitchen may be pushing it for you now 😂 once babies here though at least you can start planning all those exciting re-decorating/renovations for your new home xx

Whichnamepls · 06/02/2021 19:50

I had acupuncture for cervical ripening - recommended to me by a friend who was convinced it made a difference. I started about 37 weeks. No idea if it made any difference but I enjoyed trying it

I went into labour at 40+4 (first baby) and delivered 2 days later. During those 2 days in between i had 'mild' labour pains where my cervix was movingly into position but no dilation.

Whichnamepls · 06/02/2021 19:50

Moving not movingly

Safxxx · 06/02/2021 20:21

@jbx10 i don't think they are, but i guess what i'm feeling is quite normal at this stage for most of us now. Were all coming to the end so expect more changes. Xx

Safxxx · 06/02/2021 20:22

@Lnbarne How are you feeling today? Xx

Muriel84 · 06/02/2021 20:31

@babydust2412 I don’t get hungry during the night, just thirsty. Quite often feel really full during the night, I guess just general discomfort from my stomach. My cramps have pretty much gone now! I guess it was just a teaser...

@Whichnamepls what were the labour pains you had while your cervix moved?

Whichnamepls · 06/02/2021 21:14

@Muriel84

I had very sharp, low down pains in my pubic area. I didn't have any backache it was all at the front. It was much sharper than period pain. They were every 6-8 minutes and lasted about 30-40 seconds.

Tbh I didn't find them that mild, but when I went into hospital to be checked I was told I was only a fingertip dilated and my cervix was in the process of moving forward. Which was a bit disheartening.

Lnbarne · 06/02/2021 21:19

@safxxx doing fine today been trying to stay busy by helping renovating one of our properties everything has been pretty much normal today guess my body was just playing tricks on me. Thanks for asking

Newmumfeb2021 · 06/02/2021 21:20

@babbit87 haha, yes plumbing issues. Thanks!

@babydust2412 how are you doing?

OP posts:
Safxxx · 06/02/2021 21:35

@Lnbarne thats good to hear your keeping yourself busy and distracted. Your bodies not playing tricks its a process, all those symptoms will vary and come and go, don't be disheartened, for alot of you the times very near. Stay positive, relax and let the body do its job i say.
Here if you need to talk Xxx

Safxxx · 06/02/2021 21:41

@Whichnamepls i feel you on the front labour pains. For 2 kids i had back labour so the lower back was so painful.
For my youngest it was all pressure at the pelvic and front, back was ok.
Mind you both pains bad as each other 😣

Lnbarne · 06/02/2021 21:46

If be lying if I said I wasn’t a little disheartened at this point in time only from me being so ready to meet her haha I just want my baby girl on the outside already lol but I’m trying to be patient

Lnbarne · 06/02/2021 21:47

I know it’ll all be worth it soon!!

Safxxx · 06/02/2021 21:59

@Lnbarne Awe bless ya, and yes it will be so worth the wait Xxx

OnNaturesCourse · 06/02/2021 23:29

Oh my goodness it's been busy on here!

Congratulations @pampero and @Piccalily19 🎊💐

Quite a few early babies on here, hopefully the others all play ball and dont keep you all waiting too much longer.

Gorgeous names being given to these little ones too ❤️😍

How are all you new mummies finding it? Hopefully all recovering well?

We've been unbelievable lucky with our little man, he's eating 2oz every 2-2.5 hours during the day and about every 3-4 hours at night. Lost 4% of his weight at his midwife check so in my books that's quite good, DD lost 6% at hers and had it all back on within 2 weeks so hopefully DS will follow suit. And touch wood no sign of colic or reflux from this little one either, it caused many a tearful night (from everyone in the house) with DD so I'm hoping it stays away this time. Trying not to be too smug and jinx it tho haha. I think our bad luck this time was DD coming down with a sickness bug and virus 3 days after I gave birth 😭 and then having a covid scare where we all had to get tested (thankfully negative all round but getting a, already sick, toddler to take the test was hell on earth)

💙
