Hi everyone, welcome to the newbies and congrats!

@CherylLW I have mine on Monday, worrying a little bit because it’s been 4 weeks since the last scan. Symptoms have mostly gone apart from the tiredness but am having some pulling and light cramping in my stomach so I’m assuming everything’s going to plan but will be much happier when I know for sure. Has anyone else had hip bone/pelvic pains? They’re not bad bad but now and again I get them on a night and it stops me falling asleep. I’m assuming it’s just hormones and things moving but it’s a little disconcerting.

Also how do I know if I’m showing or if it’s just bloat? Will it one day become obvious? And when do people start wearing mat clothing? I’m not that big but I can’t be doing with stuff being tight round my stomach atm, thank god for lockdown, I’m living in leggings and hoodies!

CherylLW · 17/02/2021 10:54

Hey @KHR1 I’m 12 weeks Friday too!! Due September 3rd!
My symptoms have definitely calmed down compared to a few weeks ago but I read that it’s normal for them to start to even put around this time.
I am so picky with food! I can’t meal plan for the week as something I really fancy today will turn my stomach tomorrow!
I’ll keep my fingers crossed Friday goes well for you xx

CherylLW · 17/02/2021 10:58

@Scotti84... I know how you feel with that worry, I had my last scan 3 weeks ago. I feel twinges in my stomach, when I stand up etc. I’ve also had some hip pain... I really struggle sleeping on my side a lot of the time, I’m normally a back sleeper but I know that’s a bit of a no no as the pregnancy progresses.

I was thinking the same thing about maternity clothing! I don’t want to buy bigger clothes and then maternity clothes so I might just get a few bits if all goes well tomorrow 🤞🏼. My mum said to me yesterday it looks like my tummy is protruding a bit but I don’t know if it’s just bloat. My trousers definitely seem tighter tho, it’s a relief to undo them after work as soon as I get in the car!!

leftitlate37 · 17/02/2021 11:02

ah good luck @CherylLW - am exact same as you with MMC in oct. Its worrying isnt it now even with a positive early scan/ Sure everything will go well but be thinking of u!
@Scotti84 i hear ya! I hate stuff tight round my tummy atm, wearing baggy slobbing about the house clothes and when have to go to office its leggings with like a jumper dress thing! cant face doing up skinny jeans! Same as you - still getting light cramping round my tummy which is worrying me only cos today ive reached the point at which ended up miscarrying last time after finding out thered been no progress for weeks so just hoping its not going to get worse :(

CherylLW · 17/02/2021 11:08

@leftitlate37 Thank You xx

I had my MMC in October and I was 11+4 when I found out and that was yesterday so it was a mixed emotions kind of day. X

KHR1 · 17/02/2021 11:25

@CherylLW hope all goes well for you tomorrow!

I've had the maternity clothes out for a week or two now. This is my second pregnancy so my stomach popped out at about week 6 with the insane bloating! Hoping it goes down a bit soon as its getting hard to hide at work!

MrsTD88 · 17/02/2021 11:36

Good morning ladies, hope you are all feeling well. I had a follow up scan at EPAS this morning to confirm viability (the last scan 2 weeks ago showed sac and yolk sac and measured under 6 weeks). Thankfully saw a lovely little baby and heartbeat, so incredibly happy after two losses last year. I am dating further along than expected at 8+4 which would give me a due date of 25 September. There was a second sac present which measured about 6 weeks but was empty so they think it is likely a twin pregnancy which has not progressed. I'm not sure how I feel about that at the moment. I suppose it is bittersweet. I have my dating scan 5 weeks today so will be 13+4 going by today's scan. Seems like such a long time away.

Equimum · 17/02/2021 11:42

I am still getting slight cramps and sharp pains on movement too. I mentioned it to the midwife yesterday (at 10 weeks) and she said that was fine.

leftitlate37 it must be really scary reaching this point. Given your past experience! I am sure it will all be fine this time and have everything crossed for you.

At for maternity clothes, once the initial bloating went down, I didn’t my need maternity clothes until I was about 20 weeks last time. Some of my tighter clothes had been put away, but my normal jeans were fine. With my second, I went to a wedding at 22 weeks and have quite a bump in the photos! I’m going to order some bits once I’ve had my 12 week scan.

RaeRae84 · 17/02/2021 12:26

@CherylLW hope the scan goes well! I'm 11 + 5 too but not had my dating scan yet, hoping I get a date this week. I did have a scan on Monday with EPU as I also had a MC last year and they offered it to put my mind at rest. Never been so nervous but all was fine, baby seemed to be moving loads as well. I don't have any other kids so all very new to me. Just wanting my morning sickness to stop now as it's making the days very hard at work!!

Lozza85 · 17/02/2021 12:43

Just got my dating scan letter today, still 4 weeks away and I'll be 13+4. Seems a long way off! Saw baby at 8 weeks.

My nausea seems to be a bit less intense which is good I think. I've been wearing sea bands for the last 3 weeks and they seem to really help. I seem to get lots of bloating at night but is then gone in the morning. Anyone else?

bewitchingnight · 17/02/2021 13:14

@Lozza85 same, I looked in the mirror last night and I was huge! It's all bloat and then this morning I was back to my slightly chubbier self.

Maternity clothes wise it seems such a minefield, I'm on furlough at the moment so I've been fortunate to be able to wear joggers mostly (although I am getting pretty bored of that). My jeans still fit just about but they're so uncomfortable!

Good luck with your scan tomorrow @CherylLW I hope it all goes well. I've got mine in two weeks when I'll be 12+6 and I'm so torn between wanting it to get here faster and worrying about it.

gigi556 · 17/02/2021 13:15

My stomach literally popped overnight on Monday. This is my second pregnancy though. I don't exactly have have a washboard stomach normally (am about half a stone overweight) but this is big for me! I'm a little worried how big I'll end up as I don't think I was this big until 16-20 weeks in my last pregnancy! I'm only 9 now.

My scan is on March 9 at 12 + 4. I haven't had much in the way of symptoms so I feel like I'm just playing this waiting game to find out if I'm still pregnant! I'm plannning to have a scan about a week before though as part of the NIPT screening but I haven't booked it yet.

duchessrose · 17/02/2021 13:29

Nice to hear about everyone's scans, it makes it all the more real doesn't it. I've just got back from a private scan and Harmony test. I was able to take DH and we got to hear the heartbeat. Everything looks OK, though it'll be a couple of weeks until I hear back about the test.

I'm wearing maternity jeans from the H&M sale, which are really comfy. I am definitely getting bigger earlier in the pregnancy than in my previous 2. Luckily I'm wfh and not seeing anyone outside of home, so not having to hide a bump.

Equimum · 17/02/2021 13:32

bewitchingnight with maternity clothes, I have always bought post 12 weeks and gone capsule, which has worked really well for me. I’ve been planning to buy 2 jeans, 2 leggings, 1 denim skirt, 5 tops/Ts and 2 blouses plus an ‘any occasion’ day dress. I’ll probably add in a couple of pairs of shorts in the summer. I’ve never bothered with knitwear etc, as chunky cardigans and baggy jumpers usually go over the bump, and we’ll be at our biggest in summer anyway. Oh, and some vest tops. As this is definitely our last, and I sold all my maternity clothes a few years ago, I’ll be buying most of mine on EBay.

Chica1990 · 17/02/2021 13:39

I had a reassurance scan at 6 weeks but with disappearing symptoms I’ve booked a scan for Friday while I’ll be 10 weeks. I have my 12 week two weeks after but I just can’t wait, I need to see it with my own eyes and sometimes wonder if I’ve made the whole thing up! I feel like I’m losing my mind and am so anxious.

FTEngineerM · 17/02/2021 13:43

Cute bump @gigi556 already, exciting.

@duchessrose H&M rock for maternity clothes, I carried on wearing some after the birth tooGrin!

@Equimum eBay is great for maternity clothes, they’re never worn for long so good condition. Probably will be a mix of h and m and eBay tbh Smile

Sorry to hear you’re so anxious @Chica1990 fingers crossed for the scan

FTEngineerM oh, I’ll have a look at H&M will certainly be buying leggings and vests etc new.

Noodles4Me · 17/02/2021 16:39

Hi all. Had my 12 week scan today. They've dated and measured me at 12 +6 Shock but I know exactly conception date so I'm not that far but anyhow. So now EDD 26th Aug. Can I stay in the September thread though?

Baby was moving a lot, saw its little hands. All good with the NT measurement. Bloods taken. Harmony booked for Sunday.

As for maternity wear...been in maternity leggings a while, due mainly to bloat. Got more of a bump now though, and boobs still growing!!!

Kirky658 · 17/02/2021 16:50

@gigi556 omg that's a cute bump 😍 I am 9+3 today and swear I am starting to show already and it's my first! I could just be getting fatter due to the snacking haha @leftitlate37 you're better than me on the fruit I just go for carbs carbs carbs.

Today's drama - made me and DH cheese and ham toasties for lunch,, so excited to eat them and then I saw the bread was mouldy and I just broke down crying! Hormones!!!

I have my 12 week scan 2 weeks today so I'll be 11+3, seems a bit early but midwife says it is fine. Plan to tell my boss the following week if all is OK she's gonna go nuts!

Bubbles1st · 17/02/2021 17:17

I am 10 weeks and def have a bump even if just bloat, I am overweight but I'm changing shape, I'm taking weekly photos.

I ordered some maternity leggings from George @ Asda and really like them for the price, once I need more bits I will try eBay.

FTEngineerM · 17/02/2021 18:41

Bloody hell @Noodles4Me maybe your baby is going to be a hoooooge 11lb beauty. How much further along that you know is it?

@Kirky658 why is your boss going to go nuts Sad?

9 days unit our 12 week scan 😬cannot wait.

@ftengineerm basically because she's not a nice person. None of my team who are +10 years or more older, mostly late 40s or early 50s have kids, neither does she. I have endometriosis and she struggled enough with understanding that and how it affects me. I am concerned but I'm trying not to let it bother me. Also I won't be able to do my normal job role now as due to not being able to have the covid vaccine I won't be able to visit people and have meetings which is basically what I do, so I will have to be permanently at home I think. So we will see!

Exciting about your scan!!!! 2 weeks today for us x

FTEngineerM · 17/02/2021 18:53

@Kirky658 Oh god that’s not what you need right now, unnecessary stress. Fingers crossed she’s had a personality change between now and when you tell her😂. Could you be moved teams or something since you can’t do your normal job for now (maybe AWAY from her 🤷🏽‍♀️🤭)

OP posts:
Noodles4Me · 17/02/2021 19:34

Don't say that @FTEngineerM ! Scared it'll be huge. I'm 12 exactly not 12+6 so a week bigger it than it should.

Deffo c section for me !

Kirky658 · 17/02/2021 19:44

@ftengineerm I know. I always knew she'd be a nightmare so myself and my work wife are very keen to see how she reacts to the news!!! Haha well funnily enough I am working in a different team atm as they need the support during lockdown and have proven I can do that well, and that's 100% home based. So as long as they agree to pay me the same - which legally I think they have to when you're pregnant as they can't discriminate - then l will be fine with that! 😂
