@Equimum @KHR1 thanks guys. From what I can see they’re still allowing fathers in for the birth and my local hospital has family rooms, we have to pay a bit more but it means he can stay with us and not just visit for an hour or so. We only live a few minutes away but I’m big on him bonding with the child just as much as me so it will be great if we can get that arranged. But hopefully by then things will be better! If only for a break of summer from all of this lockdown stuff!

leftitlate37 · 12/02/2021 09:59

ah that is hard @Equimum :( can they come with u and wait in car or anything so u at least have them nearby? its really tough having to do this stuff on your own. It's strange how diff the rules are now with various Trusts. The one i work at has just started allowing partners to 12 an 20 wk scans, the one im going to apparently started to allow partners to last 5 mins of scans in December, but others are still blanket no. I know we all understand why they made these rules, but its hard when they now differ depending on where u live and these are massivelyi mportant moments in our lives.

Anyone else had their urine tested recently? I thought I might have a UTI so contacted GP, they actually said all was clear, but have ketones in my urine so she assumed id been really sick and wasnt eating. Which isnt true at all, ive got the appetite of a horse and eating plenty throughout the day. Ive now looked up what it means for pregnancy and now worried it can affect brain development?! dont know what to do, nurse just said eat plenty which i am doing!!!!

Hi @Brightspark12 we must be date buddies, I have early scan booked next Thursday at 8+2! Similar to you, I had some brownish discharge last week. Wouldn't call it spotting exactly but freaked me out of course. Also got told the same, totally normal and as long it didn't progress into anything more etc then usually is fine. Just like you, I'm anxious for next week all the same! Convinced and paranoid that something will be wrong. I'm assuming that every pregnant lady feels exactly like that though?! How have you been feeling symptom wise?

Brightspark12 · 12/02/2021 11:23

@jellybean13419 hiya! Glad to hear someone else is going through the same thing. I am really worried about going to the scan and finding no heartbeat or something (shouldn’t read so much on here!). I think it’s totally normal but people have said to me to try and relax otherwise our pregnancies will be a nightmare! I think I will relax after my 12 week. Have you had your booking appointment yet? X

Gadea · 12/02/2021 14:08

@Brightspark12 @jellybean13419 I have been spotting/bleeding for the past 4 weeks. I was absolutely terrified and thinking of the worst but I had a scan in the early pregnancy clinic yesterday and baby is well, we saw the heartbeat and I'm 10 weeks 3 days.
They told us that it's quite common. I am finding it hard to relax but let's try our best 😊

Mummytogg · 12/02/2021 17:19

I would love to join. I am due with baby number 3 September 14th!

Mamabearwhere · 12/02/2021 18:41

@leftitlate37 I don’t have any advice regarding ketones/urine tests etc but I would just advice you (and everyone) to literally google nothing during pregnancy because it can send you into such panic and frenzy mode. I made this mistake with my first pregnancy and all I remember looking back now is worrying about something or the other my entire pregnancy rather than just enjoying/experiencing the journey. Unless nothing obviously wrong just assume everything is fine. Easier said than done but just be aware and attempt not to google stuff.Xx

jellybean13419 · 12/02/2021 19:32

@Brightspark12 I'm exactly the same. Keep trying to stay positive and hope for the best. But it's almost like you want to mentally prepare yourself for the worst because you want that little baby so badly, if that makes sense? What day are you going for your scan? My booking appointment is for the 25th Feb and had the letter through saying my dating scan is 18th March. Have you had either of yours come through yet?
@Gadea oh I'm so glad all is ok for you and baby is growing nicely. Seeing any sort of anything when you wipe is just so scary and you always think the worst! Can't be long until your 12 week scan? Do you know your due date?

Brightspark12 · 12/02/2021 19:48

@jellybean13419 I hope we will be reassured after our scans! I have my booking appointment for 1st March... haven’t sent my scan through! You must be excited that makes it feel real doesn’t it getting your scan app through x

Gadea · 12/02/2021 19:51

@jellybean13419 I haven't got my dating scan booked yet. In my area it is booked on the first appointment with the midwife and unfortunately that had to be postponed due to the bleeding. I have the appointment on Monday so not long now 😊

gigi556 · 13/02/2021 08:06

Wow lots of exciting updates with booking appointments and scans!
I had my booking appointment over the phone this week and I'm booked in for bloods in 23rd and then 12 week scan on March 9. After quite a lengthy discussion, my husband and I have decided to get the NIPT screening done so I'll call next week to make an appointment in the next couple of weeks. We are also planning to find out the sex from the NIPT screening which is crazy exciting. We help it a surprise the first time but I'm just dying to know this time around 🙈

gigi556 · 13/02/2021 08:06

*kept it a surprise

FTEngineerM · 13/02/2021 09:03

Hi everyone, how’re you all feeling?

Nausea has subsided mostly yehaaww. But OMG I had a massive stress on yesterday, sorry tmi but I had blood when I wiped, thought the worst but turns out it was from my bum!!😩

Had 12 week scan date 26th Feb so should be 11+2 based on last scan we had.

That’s super cool you can find out the gender this early @gigi556 with the NIPT, I 100% would if I was having it Grin I think we’ll get a private scan at 16 weeks to check gender.

gigi556 · 13/02/2021 09:09

@FTEngineerM yes it's crazy! I love science. They actually look at the chromosomes so it's incredibly accurate.

Sorry to hear about the blood 😬 Guess you have hemorrhoids 😭😭😭

FTEngineerM · 13/02/2021 09:15

Bloody hell that’s hi-tech, far more slick than checking for a third leg at ultrasound.

I guess you have hemorrhoids
Oh god what a treat 😂 hope they disappear sharpish!

OP posts:
Brightspark12 · 13/02/2021 09:54

@FTEngineerM oh that’s such a relief! And so glad it wasn’t anything serious!! Did give me a little laugh this morning so thank you x😂

Equimum · 13/02/2021 11:30

FTEngineerM ouch, I hope they clear up soon!

Yes, we are hoping to find out the sex from the NIPT too. We didn’t find out with DS1, but everyone, and I mean everyone was convinced we were having a girl. I think it was quite a shock to be presented with a boy! As a result, we found out with DS2 (it was very clear on the scan 😆) and I found it a bit easier. Saying that, when we rang DMil she cried, as she was so disappointed, and my aunt said ‘oh, what a shame, you must be gutted’!!!! If this is another boy, we may initially tell them all that we are so excited that we are having exactly what we want, then say what it is. We were absolutely shocked by their responses.

FTEngineerM · 13/02/2021 12:17

Thanks both DP also laughed after I’d calmed down and confirmed which orifice it was from. His office is next to the toilet and he heard me gasp and then shout oh my god whilst on a work call😬.

@Equimum that’s mental your MIL cried at the gender?! That’s a good idea saying your happy because how can anyone possibly show disappointment if you’re happy. We’ve got one boy so far I think we’re going to stop at 2 so super eager to find out gender.

Hi, I just wanted to share with you my news. I went yesterday for a private scan at 9+2 weeks and the baby's heart had stopped beating some days ago. All was well in the 7 week scan and, in this one, they could not find an obvious cause. This is hard.
I really hope you all have very healthy pregnancies and babies. Hopefully we will see each other in another forum soon Flowers

Bubbles1st · 14/02/2021 08:37

@AnitaB83 so sorry to read about your loss, lots of love ❤️

gigi556 · 14/02/2021 08:53

@AnitaB83 I'm so sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage a few years ago and I can relate. It's really difficult. Thanks

Equimum · 14/02/2021 09:13

AnitaB83 I am so sorry for your loss.

FTEngineerM · 14/02/2021 09:13

Sorry to hear that @AnitaB83 sending big hugs Flowers
