@Sitchervice I knoooow... I just wish I had options to manage the weight gain

Sitchervice · 27/03/2021 21:27

@Nesski I just rest in the knowledge that once this boy comes out its a quick weight loss 🤣

Waitingforbabypage · 27/03/2021 22:53

I am flipping miserable this evening! I felt pretty good this morning so we got on with tidying the garden, OH mowed the lawn and power washed the patio and I was emptying the flower boxes and weeding the flower beds. I don't feel like I over did anything. When we had finished we sat down for some lunch and well that was that! Could I move after lunch? Could I heckers like. I now cannot walk properly, I had to crawl up the stairs, I've spent hours in the bath trying to ease the pain, it hurts to sit, stand, lay down. Its constant. Paracetamol hasn't touched it, bouncing gently on the ball didn't help, I'm currently laid in bed with 4 pregnancy pillows wedged in various places and I'm still so uncomfortable
Not impressed.
I've been referred to physio but got told not to hold my breath, there are only 2 people in the area qualified for maternity purposes 🤷🏼‍♀️
Sorry for the long one, I'm just grumpy!

Nesski · 27/03/2021 23:43

@Waitingforbabypage Sad can you afford to go private? If you can do it, rather than suffer through

AlRRRR · 28/03/2021 07:28

@Waitingforbabypage I did all my garden last sat , and was exactly the same, although I did mow it all and kept going and I also had to crawl around 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.

I do some stretches 3 times per day and stretch out the back followed by some deep squats and that really relaxes the back but really all that works is having a full nights sleep.

I walked yday for the first time in 2 weeks for about an hour through the woods and I was crawling again when I got home! so funny, so i’ll have to do the stretches again today.

Can you see someone private? I’m seeing an Osteo/physio private every 2-3 weeks, she charges £55, and it helps loadsaa :)

pookypup · 28/03/2021 08:45

@Waitingforbabypage I suffered with SPD in my first two pregnancies, and had chiropractic treatment throughout.

Thought I was doing ok this time, but it came on fast in the last week or so, from being fine to hobbling around like an old lady! I decided to try out a support belt before paying for chiro etc this time, and OMG It’s brilliant. Only been wearing for a day, when I am stood up or walking for a long time, but so much better already. It’s was only £22 so worth a try.

pookypup · 28/03/2021 08:47

It was babygo support belt from Amazon. Comes with a book of stretches too.

Waitingforbabypage · 28/03/2021 09:00

I have a belt somewhere, got it and my bump was too small so I've put it somewhere "safe" and cannot for the life of me find it.
I can't afford to go private :(
But I have borrowed a pair of crutches to help me on the school runs.
It's just so sore all the time, when I'm laid down I feel like I don't even have a mattress, it's painful to touch as if it's bruised etc.
I feel very sorry for myself.

PinkPlantCase · 28/03/2021 11:41

@Waitingforbabypage a tens machine might be worth a try. They aren’t just for labour, pharmacy’s sell them. They can really help with relief for chronic pain and stiff joints.

It might take some getting used to but you can leave them on all day if you need to.

Jinglebells87 · 28/03/2021 13:37

@Waitingforbabypage I feel your pain! I did the same thing yesterday!! Over did it making flat pack furniture and generally sorting the house out (daughter has just moved into a new room we have just finished to make room for the baby).
When I stopped at 5pm I was in agony too. I could barely move and just ended up crying uncontrollably. I knew it would be a bad night too and it was but it feels easier to move around again today. I am desperately trying to redecorate baby's room before it gets any worse.
Sorry I don't have any advice to make it better but just letting you know you aren't alone. Flowers

Waitingforbabypage · 28/03/2021 14:32

I'll absolutely try a tens machine, never thought of that, thank you @PinkPlantCase

Aw @Jinglebells87 bless ya! It's awful isn't it? I've pulled my house apart trying to find my bump band but I honestly cannot find it anywhere! I could actually cry.

TerryRose · 28/03/2021 18:57

@Waitingforbabypage just in relation to TENs machine even though they aren't just for labour , you have to be careful where you use them when pregnant as it could cause contractions to begin so just to be mindful of that, I was advised my by midwife .

Note taken, I'm seeing a midwife on the 6th April so I'll have a chat with her before I possibly get one. Best to be safe than sorry 😊

Nesski · 29/03/2021 15:32

Has anyone hit a wall of tiredness at all in their third trimester? I think mine is due to the sleep, it's not that it's been bad quality but side sleeping makes my hip hurt and unconsciously moving quite a lot at night I reckon...

Sitchervice · 29/03/2021 16:39

@Nesski I'm so tired. Got to keep going trying to sell our flat....

Nesski · 29/03/2021 16:46

@Sitchervice I honestly can not think of anything worse to do right now, you got this though!! We are getting a decorator come in to do the nursery and even picking a colour is exhausting...

Edelweiss2020 · 29/03/2021 17:10

I have also hit a wall of tired! Sleeping badly definitely isn't helping! It's like 1st trimester all over again :(

Had a 'booking appointment' today over the phone with the health visitor. It took an hour and a half! Will be 30 weeks tomorrow and she wants to talk to me every 3-4 weeks til he arrives, just to check in. Didn't know antenatal contact from them was a thing, but I guess it's nice to have an extra person to go to for support 🙃

Sitchervice · 29/03/2021 17:15

@Nesski got no choice, thanks to mine and my husbands work places working from home is set to become more permanent. We've lost our spair room 😭

Still I'm pretty cool about it. If he comes before he was always going to bunk in with us for a while anyway.

PinkPlantCase · 29/03/2021 17:22

@Nesski I’m also knackered 😂 I had a nap in the afternoon on both Saturday and Sunday.

I have sorted things out with work now too so feeling much happier about that. I’m now finishing at 35 weeks and working 4 day weeks between now and then (I’m 30 weeks tomorrow!).

I don’t really mind if baby is 2 weeks late either 😂 I’ll happily potter round the garden until then. I’m more relieved that if baby needs to be induced early or be a c-section for any reason then atleast I’ll have time to properly decompress before he or she arrives.

LittleMimi · 29/03/2021 17:40

I’m lucky as haven’t felt tired yet.

I had my 30th week growth scan today. Luckily low P-APPA doesn’t seem to be affecting growth as baby is bigger than average.

Nesski · 29/03/2021 17:43

@PinkPlantCase same I literally cannot imagine working past 37 weeks, I have some friends who will work right up to EDD, which I think is absolute bonkers! Horses for courses though, hope they've got their shit together incase the baby makes an early appearance!

@Sitchervice great mindset, just don't stress about it, if you're on mat leave after you have time Smile

@Edelweiss2020 I have no idea either! Not been contacted by any health visitor! I do still feel like I have no idea what I'm getting myself into!

Sitchervice · 30/03/2021 09:28

It's my wedding anniversary, and I got my self an appointment with the midwife.... Yay.

Jokes a side it was pre booked 🤣

maloney123 · 30/03/2021 21:41

I’m exhausted as well, did some exercise on Sunday and some jobs round the house and then fell asleep for the afternoon!

TerryRose · 30/03/2021 23:03

Yup exhaustion hitting me as well like every second day , I wake up about 7 but then come 9 I need to have a nap , thankfully I'm working from home and work later in the day as mornings just a no go for me 🤣

Anyone else struggling with heartburn ?

Nesski · 31/03/2021 06:53

@TerryRose since week bloody 16, I was taking omeprazole but leave a nasty sour taste in the back of my throat, so I'm just trying to take it sporadically and manage through diet, it's the worst in the evenings...

@Sitchervice happy anniversary to you!
