Hi!

I got my BFP a few days back (well a lot of BFPs as I'm a POAS addict) and my due date is likely to be early August 2021.

Any other ladies out there with similar exciting news in need of chat and support in these strange times please jump on board!

I got my positive test today, how exciting! Due around the 2nd of august and this is my second pregnancy 😍 I’ve had sharp twinges when I move quickly or sneeze that I had when I was in the second trimester with my first, did a test and it’s positive and my digital test said 2-3 weeks!

MushroomQueen · 29/11/2020 23:36

@Clairey844 Yes some more this evening, but it's still very light and none on a pad 2 drops on underwear so I'm open to all possibilities atm. I'll wait and see what happens tomorrow

@booksandmore

So many new bfps - welcome and congrats to everyone! It is so helpful to have a group to chat things through with, especially if you arent telling anyone in real life!

@Mumtoalittlegirl Interesting you mentioned the August-born worries. I am in Scotland so our years run differently but I know it is a big thing for some people im England. My daughter is a February birthday which is the youngest month in the Scottish year and it did cross my mind but tbh we were just so thrilled to finally be pregnant!

@LoulabelleSunflower Glad to see a fellow IVF-er here! Was it your first cycle? We had quite a journey this time round but has been much quicker than with my first.

@booksandmore We had been trying for some time, but this was our second cycle. I've not told any one yet so is great to find this thread yesterday. Can you add me to the Facebook group? Great to chat. Good luck all.

Congratulations! We did a digital last night and it’s really nice to see it there in writing

It’s funny you mention the twinges. I have been exactly the same second time around. I couldn’t really feel much the first time but now at only a few weeks there’s a heaviness and I can feel everything much more! I guess it’s all going to feel a bit different this time round now our bodies have been through it already. Smile

Just hoping that it’s true what they say that birth is easier the second time around. Smile

Hi all I hope booksandmore doesn't mind me doing this but to help with them not having a million dm's search Sunday of Summer on Facebook for the group Smile

NestinginNL · 30/11/2020 08:48

@Clairey844 hello! I was wondering if you'd join here ☺️ how are you doing? Has the spotting stopped? The 3rd of august is my mum's birthday, it's a good day 🙂

@Daniellea96 congratulations! ☺️

@booksandmore I've requested to join the group but didn't send a DM as I'm on the app, but my cover photo is a wedding picture so you know it's me and not a random 😅

Daniellea96 · 30/11/2020 09:01

It’s so strange isn’t it! It’s like a sharp shooting pain that doubles you over in pain😂 I distinctly remember it from my last pregnancy later on and that’s the only reason I’ve done a test 😂 I feel really bloated this time and yucky already yet my last pregnancy I didn’t find out till I was 8/9 weeks gone with no symptoms till the sickness started. No sickness as of yet with this one so got everything crossed this pregnancy is more pleasant 😂

Do you find it more daunting this time knowing what you’ve got to go through with labour?😂 I’m dreading it already lol my last birth was rather quick so I’m hoping for the same again!

Daniellea96 · 30/11/2020 09:02

@Mumtoalittlegirl

Sleeeeeepy · 30/11/2020 09:18

@Daniellea96 I did hypnobirthing second time around which was amazing. Doesn't stop it hurting but you can deal with it so much better, I found it empowering whereas first time I was just terrified!

On the FB group the description is now "a private group to discuss our celebration in 2021" if you're searching for it. People can see the description and who the admins are (members list is private) and I don't want anyone finding out by mistake Smile

@Sleeeeeepy aw wow yes I’ve heard about that! Is that something that you can do within the hospital then or how does it work?
I’m just going to take every pain killer that’s offered this time😂
How do I find the Facebook group?

Sleeeeeepy · 30/11/2020 09:50

@Daniellea96 It's a way of training your mind to be able to deal with it, lots of positive affirmation and unlearning the fear we have instilled about birth. I was skeptical but found it really useful.

If you search for Sunday of Summer on FB you should be able to find us

Yep! I find even picking up my 2 year old seems to be a bit more challenging (maybe I am just imagining it).

Hopefully you will have a nice quick birth if your first one was. DD’s was quite complicated, it took me like 20 hours to get to 3cm. She was back to back and I found the pain unbearable. Had to have a drip etc., I had an epidural eventually though so it was fine! Any hypnobirthing went out the window but I might give it another go.

Would love a quick water birth but I’ve learned from experience you can’t plan it and just go with the flow. I’m very much open to taking any drugs that I think I need. Grin. Although part of me does want to experience it without.

Mumtoalittlegirl · 30/11/2020 10:08
  • about 30 hours not 20 haha
Daniellea96 · 30/11/2020 11:04

@Sleeeeeepy wow that’s really interesting! I’ve requested to follow the group.

@Mumtoalittlegirl yes I agree I also have a 2 year old too lol! wow that sounds traumatic! Hope this one is a lot quicker and smoother for you! Mine was only 8 hours from start to finish so I was really lucky but it felt like a life time!
I found when I was in water my contractions hurt more than out of water, I don’t know whether it was in my head or what, but I got in the bath when with my first and had to get out immediately as I couldn’t cope 😂

How do you feel about the covid situation? I hope it’s more normal come august time!

LoulabelleSunflower · 30/11/2020 12:11

Yeah, great cryptic title, I've requested to join my profile pic is a deer!
Mumtoalittlegirl · 30/11/2020 12:12

@Daniellea96 thank you! I guess it was quite traumatic but because it ended well and I was calm by the end it didn’t feel traumatic if you know what I mean? I definitely couldn’t handle the contractions, I don’t think it helped that they broke my waters for me. I know what you mean about baths! I tried having a bath while at home (I was barely even 1cm) and just couldn’t stand it. I think with her being back to back though I just couldn’t even sit down during a contraction and after a night of no sleep it wore me down.

At the very least I think I’ll be a bit calmer knowing what to expect and what is active labour/ when it’s best to stay home. If your first was 8 hours you may be leaving for the hospital fairly soon haha!

I must admit I haven’t researched much about the covid rules? Are partners still not allowed in scans etc.? We will be moving to the East Midlands soon so not sure how the rules will change. I agree though I think by August it might all be okay with the new vaccine. Fingers crossed! Xx

Daniellea96 · 30/11/2020 14:01

@Mumtoalittlegirl yes it sounds it but all worth it in the end isn’t it, as soon as they hand you baby all is forgotten!
I remember them saying at the anti natals that back to back was agonising so I feel for you there!

A know 8 hours,This baby is probs gonna literally fall out of me😂😭

I’ve heard you’re allowed 1 person to a scan, no children and if you’re in labour there not allowed on the ward you’re on your own and then when your in proper active pushing labour there then allowed in... got everything crossed it changes by august!

Sallyjo27 · 30/11/2020 16:21

Hi ladies hope you all well, has anyone else had trapped wind cramps coming and going? I had them for the last week but all of a sudden they’ve disappeared and I’m worrying now that something has gone wrong 🙄😩 (I’ve had 3 losses so very anxious anyway)

Everybodyfednobodydead · 30/11/2020 18:14

Could I tentatively join please. I had a miscarriage at just under 6 weeks. Bleeding began 30/10. I logged that as cd1 but haven't had a period since so can't be exactly sure of dates. I reckon I'm due around 8th August. Was worried it could be left over hcg but my tests are getting darker and the clear blue digis are rising from 1-2 to 2-3.
Congratulations everyone

Pika93 · 30/11/2020 18:33

@Everybodyfednobodydead I am pretty much the same my bleed started 15/10 and had surgical management 28/10 so I don't know how far gone we are GP is saying to give it 2 weeks then they will book me in for a dating scan

JanQi · 30/11/2020 18:38

Thanks for setting up the group @booksandmore!

Everybodyfednobodydead · 30/11/2020 19:37

@Pika93 so sorry to hear about your mc. But congratulations on your bfp! It's so nerve wracking isn't it. I haven't spoken to my gp yet. I'm still in a bit of disbelief. We werr going to wait till I had a af to start again but got a bit drunk 2 weeks ago. It was the only time we've had sex since the mc. But my tests are getting darker so praying it's a good sign. I hope your scan goes well. I'm sure it'll be perfect

Pika93 · 30/11/2020 19:46

@Everybodyfednobodydead we started trying as soon as my bleeding stopped we went almost a year trying to conceive the first time so thought we'd best be getting back on it. Needless to say seeing 2 lines caused a lot of shock. I'm strangely chill about it all, statistically we are more like to carry to term this time and if it happens again at least we know what we will be going through
