As the other thread was about to be full, I thought it made sense to make part 2!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

@jbx10 I guess they need to test us to put us somewhere different if we were positive? When I went in for reduced movements, the first thing I was asked whether I had an symptoms or had tested positive. They must where different PPE if you are positive

jbx10 · 05/01/2021 17:31

@Stef92 @Muriel84 yes that's true but like you say doesn't make much sense to then have a back up birthing partner if we were to test positive. I'm really grateful we are both starting to self isolate on Monday through to when I go into labour just in case but it is still a worry and feel for those who are unable to isolate xxxx

babbit87 · 05/01/2021 17:55

Yes, they are basically saying "go on, pass it on to someone else!" I don't know........ fingers crossed we are all safe and have good experiences

OnNaturesCourse · 05/01/2021 21:36

That's what worries me!

My DP driving me the long journey to the hospital only to be turned away himself, my back up is my Mum but she is also a good 40 minutes away from the hospital.

He also works on in construction so can't isolate Angry and has set holidays so can't even take annual leave in the lead up to my due date.

Char41zam · 05/01/2021 21:38

It’s all really giving me anxiety even more than I have had! Not feeling to great this evening have a bad tummy and sore back think she is positioning herself head down, has given me the runs and a throbbing back

OnNaturesCourse · 05/01/2021 21:49

Oh my goodness, me too... I just said to DP I feel like my period is on the way / raging war on the first day on. It just won't ease up. Had bad braxton hicks earlier but they have gone now and left this cdanpy ache.

Hope it passes for you, have you tried some heat on your back?

Char41zam · 05/01/2021 22:42

@OnNaturesCourse I had a hot shower and I have been in bed since but my back is still achy it’s exactly as you described like when you are going to get your period, I reckon it’s things getting ready! Makes you feel crappy but also getting closer to us meeting our little bundles

OnNaturesCourse · 05/01/2021 23:07

So long as it doesn't cramp like this for the next 6 weeks lol. Never had this with my first. Barely felt a thing with her. She was two weeks early so I'm praying this one will be too!

Char41zam · 06/01/2021 00:02

I have always gone over with my others but I will only get to 39 weeks the latest so I hope I don’t have this cramp and pain until then either, this has been the most challenging pregnancy by far

OnNaturesCourse · 06/01/2021 00:06

How many kids do you have? Sorry if you've said already, my memory is terrible!

I was induced with my first but had already had my show plus was dilating when I got taken in.

Char41zam · 06/01/2021 00:37

I have 3, oldest is 18 middle 16 and youngest 12! This little lady is a total surprise to me and my partner at age 42 and 43 lol

OnNaturesCourse · 06/01/2021 01:15

Aww that's lovely. ❤️

How are your other kids feeling about their new sibling? I was older when my baby brother arrived and I was thrilled, he was my wee best friend all through his younger years.

Char41zam · 06/01/2021 01:33

They are excited! Oldest wasn’t chuffed at first as she couldn’t get her head round the fact she was off to uni and I was having a baby but she soon came round. It’s me that’s actually been in denial for ages and I kinda still am! I have scans every 4 weeks and I still can’t believe that I am having a baby lol I don’t think it will hit me properly till she is born. How many kids do you have? And how old?

OnNaturesCourse · 06/01/2021 15:03

This is my second, my first is 3 and I'm 31.

Said I'd not have kids after 30, but here I am having our 2nd and already considering our 3rd 😂

Char41zam · 06/01/2021 15:13

@OnNaturesCourse I was the same I was 29 almost 30 when I had my son and said I wouldn’t have anymore but hey this baby was meant to be! Didn’t think I would be 42 mind you lol but I do feel I’m a young 42 anyway, my body isn’t saying the same thing just now though 😆

Muriel84 · 06/01/2021 16:29

I still feel like a kid. This is my first baby at 36 and I have to remind myself I’m not a young mum! 😂

OnNaturesCourse · 06/01/2021 16:37

I felt like a young mum until I got pregnant again 😂 I no longer have the energy to do anything so feel super old lol. Hoping it passes once baby is here. Got unbelievable pressure going on today, and my period pain back is still going along with braxton hicks. Did have a massive lump of discharge this morning, called midwife who said mucus plug could be coming away but she expects more in terms of volume. Apparently it can come away and reform if baby isn't quite ready. I remember it came away between 35&36 weeks with my first, bit by bit every day then ended with my bloody show at 37 weeks. Wonder if this one is going to follow a similar timescale.

Newmumfeb2021 · 06/01/2021 16:40

I am 31 and this is my first baby. I was not planning one last year and hubs was totally against considering COVID, but then things happen... lockdown began to ease we thought its going to be okay. I managed to convince. :)

Stef92 · 06/01/2021 17:02

I'm 28 and hubby is 33 next week. This is our first. We got married in 2019 so had been trying but once Covid hit we were a bit unsure whether to keep trying when he was furloughed and I was give a pay cut but we just carried on lol

Char41zam · 06/01/2021 17:07

@OnNaturesCourse I have had a bit of discharge since last night too so I definitely think it’s things getting ready, I felt super young until being pregnant and I totally feel old at the moment so hopefully when I have baby I will feel so much better! Being pregnant in your 20’s compared to your 40’s is a massive change!

Muriel84 · 06/01/2021 17:15

After 20 years on the pill I thought it’d take us ages to conceive but my cycles started up straight away and I got pregnant the first month we tried. Unfortunately lost that one, and the next one (probably because of my uterus being an odd shape) but third time lucky! 🤞🤞

I would love a sign that things might be starting to move... 35 weeks today. I can see this baby coming late. If it ever decides to turn the right way round. 🙄 x x x

jbx10 · 06/01/2021 17:17

I'm 27 & my partner is 30 with our first baby. @Char41zam that's lovely. I have a 13 year gap between me & my little brother and I absolutely loved it!

Had my growth scan & midwife appointment today she's still measuring small growing on her own curve but still small. They recommending I give birth on labour ward rather than birth centre which I was a little disheartened at first but come round now. I was picturing having to be attached to all the monitors etc. Which MF has said isn't the case so feel positive about it. They've also mentioned I might need to be induced at 37 weeks - do not feel organised!! xxx

Char41zam · 06/01/2021 17:25

@jbx10 I’m getting induced at 39 weeks and she is measuring smaller but still growing well so I wouldn’t worry to much, I have never had a big baby anyway and all 3 of mine were late so I’m expecting this one to be about 6ish pounds

jbx10 · 06/01/2021 17:38

@Char41zam are they inducing you because of the babies size? I think it just threw me off because I wasn't expecting it! Starting to wash all baby clothes this evening to try make myself feel slightly more organised 😂

babbit87 · 06/01/2021 18:33

I'm 33 and dh 37, this is our 3rd, we will have 3 under 4, I often wonder what have I done! Haha. I was on labour ward with both previous babies as I needed antibiotics, it was fine. Had a lovely midwife and I still managed to have birthing pool for first one. No time for the 2nd he came too quick! Am so worried this baby will fly out, I have NO pelvic floor left! Anyone else feel like that? Those of you on your 3rd, 4th or more did they come quicker with each one?
