Hi ladies! New to this board just moved over from conception! Cannot quite believe it! I'm panicking as it's been a year (exactly!!) Since my miscarriage, and now I have backache and light cramps! Is that normal at four weeks can anyone put my mind at ease? X

@AnxiousAnnie86 not well. I need that scan. I had a bit more nausea last night including actually feeling sick but my breast soreness is definitely fading away day but day and I'm terrified of finding out next Saturday that it's a MMC.
I'm very stressed.
We have to go for genetic testing ASAP to determine the risk to the baby of salt-wasting disease (which causes severe infant dehydration). If my husband carries a gene too we have to find out the sex of the baby via a blood test before 10 weeks because the impact is negligible on a boy but worrying on a girl.
Apparently the obstetrician might refuse my referral because I'm not a "geriatric mother" and I'm not at high risk of things like pre-eclampsia, and Covid has started getting in the way of ante natal care where I live (which is worrying). I've been keeping off here because I'm trying not to think about the pregnancy too much, or I find myself unable to cope very well.
Unfortunately the genetic condition I have actually means my body doesn't produce cortisol, the hormone which helps people to manage stress and cope, so it means when I panic my body can't regulate itself properly. I don't think it necessarily makes my stress feel worse than someone else's but it means it comes on more easily and affects my body chemically worse than it should, which isn't good for the embryo.

Private scan in 9 days, but the endocrinologist is pushing for the obstetrician to accept my referral and get me scanned next week to reduce the stress. I'm 6+6 today.

AnxiousAnnie86 · 21/01/2021 09:28

@TheOrangeMonster oh I'm so sorry you are having such a hard time! Honestly the boobs thing try not to let that concern you, mine had all but gone pain wise at 6 weeks! My sickness started at 6+4 and gradually got worse.

I hope they can scan you early for peace of mind, I had my scan at 7+2 I think it was. Can you get cortisol injections I have a friend who is pregnant and she has to Inject herself daily throughout pregnancy for a condition she has been diagnosed with which made it hard to get pregnant, but I can't remember the name of it!!! X

@TheOrangeMonster I hope you are ok and manage to keep stress to a minimum. My OH's son has the same/similar condition to you (addisons disease). I will keep all my fingers and toes crossed for you ❤️

Blossom428 · 21/01/2021 10:13

@TheOrangeMonster really sorry to hear all the anxiety you are going through.
I literally had hardly any symptoms at all so I can understand how you are feeling on that front, but in a positive way good that's you've felt a bit sick.
Really hope you get your scan soon and the referral that is needed 💗

TheOrangeMonster · 21/01/2021 11:15

@AnxiousAnnie86 so they can't actually give me anything now because steroids have to be started before conception and they only did the final diagnosis when I was 4+2, so they won't start me on it.

@SS123456 yes it's similar, mines called "Non Classic (Late Onset) Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia". What a mouthful! NCCAH for short. "Enca".

Spent this morning rushing around trying to get things done before my work started and just realised I forgot to go to the loo when I woke up! That moment when you realise how badly you need it - haha! Pregnancy is doing weird things, my pee is orange now (tmi sorry). I think I just need to drink more.

Hope everyone is doing ok and not affected by the flooding I've been hearing about!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 21/01/2021 11:57

@AnxiousAnnie86 i heard about orange pee there is a reason for it but i cant remember! i seem to go from not needing it to needing it instantly!!

we have really bad flooding round us! we always do! both roads closed in and out to our house so we are now an island! not that we can go anywhere anyway!

TheOrangeMonster · 21/01/2021 12:48

@AnxiousAnnie86 tagging yourself? Haha 😂 must be one of those days. Yeah me too, that gets annoying!
Oh what a pain! But hopefully no flooding in the house? Luckily no scans to attend today!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 21/01/2021 13:00

Blossom428 · 25/01/2021 08:03

Morning @AnxiousAnnie86 yes, I asked about books. I haven't yet bought one. My mum bought me one called Mindful pregnancy which has a few interesting things to do in it. Have you bought any yet?

@Mctm123 aww congrats for a baby boy!! I can't wait to find out now. OH won't let me book an early scan 🙈 so impatient! Haha.

AnxiousAnnie86 · 25/01/2021 08:29

@Blossom428 oh no how come?!?! So when will you find out then?

I think I want one that goes on to what do to with a newborn too haha 😂 but I can't find one that isn't dreary! X

OP posts:
Blossom428 · 25/01/2021 09:43

Haha yes I want one like that.
I did make a list of books, just not got round to ordering yet-
Expecting better
What to expect when expecting
How to grow a baby
The blissful baby expert

@AnxiousAnnie86

I dunno why, he just says we may as well wait till the 20week scan as only a few more weeks. 🙈🙈

AnxiousAnnie86 · 25/01/2021 09:55

@Blossom428 that's sooooo annoying!!! 😂 when will you find out then?

Thanks I will take a look and see. I will let you know if I find any good ones for newborns! X

OP posts:
Blossom428 · 25/01/2021 10:08

I know. I do keep asking him daily 😂 @AnxiousAnnie86
Im20week scan is booked for 4th March. And then we would want to do a mini reveal for my family, so whether we find out on that day or wait a few days till we share and all find out together. Will have to see haha! I can't keep waiting longer and longer.

Blossom428 · 25/01/2021 10:24

Do you get like uncomfortable aching feeling across your tummy? I've been getting It past few nights about 5am and it's waking me up, not painful but just uncomfortable. It's probably growing pains and things stretching. It improves when I get up, it's just annoying as it's keeping me awake!
@AnxiousAnnie86

AnxiousAnnie86 · 25/01/2021 10:40

@Blossom428 really bad! Mainly at night! I keep saying to DH my stomach feels so heavy and achey at night!!! I sleep wirh a pregnancy pillow and sleep on my side that helps, I look about six months pregnant now though! I didn't show properly until about 24 weeks previously! But I was 14 years younger 😂

OP posts:
TheOrangeMonster · 25/01/2021 11:28

@AnxiousAnnie86 they say with 2nd pregnancies you show a lot earlier than with 1st ones. My mum told me that she didn't start showing until 7 months with me! 😱 I hope I don't get that far without showing or people will think I'm imagining it! 😂
A fair few of you lot are nearly halfway through now, right? @Blossom428 + others?

My "sickness" thing has sort of turned into more like food aversions (to most food), and everything smelling bad. I haven't really felt nauseous, just like I don't want to eat - refluxy/burbley stomach type thing. Just got to make it to Saturday!

SenoraSurf · 25/01/2021 12:19

Can someone make an October 2021 thread? I'm so desperate for one but feel like I struggle too much with keeping up in threads to be the one to make it Grin

AnxiousAnnie86 · 25/01/2021 13:34

@TheOrangeMonster thats how mine started!! all i wanted was potato waffles!! the smell of our puppy literally made me sick! i couldnt go near him!!

OP posts:
AnxiousAnnie86 · 25/01/2021 13:44
