Hi ladies! New to this board just moved over from conception! Cannot quite believe it! I'm panicking as it's been a year (exactly!!) Since my miscarriage, and now I have backache and light cramps! Is that normal at four weeks can anyone put my mind at ease? X

@theorangeMonster I feel the same way still. I can't get excited I'm scared it will be taken away and I won't be able to cope so I have been negative all the way through so far which my husband has struggled with my 'negativity' lol
We would like to know the sex. For us I think it would add to the excited if we knew what we were having.
It is such a strange time to be pregnant, my husband can't be there for my 12 weeks scan which is actually at 12 weeks 6 days.

SS123456 · 12/01/2021 14:50

@AnxiousAnnie86 Oh really! We both want a girl so we shall see 🙈. My OH has one of each and I have a boy so it would be nice to have a girl of my own so I'm not living in a house with 3 boys 😂. I really wanted a girl with my DS and was so glad i found out at my scan as I was really disappointed at the time. I soon got over it but if I had had that news after the no pain relief forceps birth I had may have pushed me over the edge lol

AnxiousAnnie86 · 12/01/2021 14:57

@SS123456 well I just read and they say over 140 is a girl, but think it's all Myth to be honest, my sister is absolutely adamant from my scan photo she can tell it's a girl, and I mean absolutely adamant. My SIL is adamant it's a girl as she does not want me to have a girl in the slightest so is being a martyr I think..... I can't tell from scan photo and I just have a feeling it's a boy, which I don't mind but I just don't like any boys names at all! Have my girls name picked 😂

@AnxiousAnnie86 Isn't it a girl you have already? I don't like any boys names either, I have a fair few girls ones though 😁🤞🏻

TheOrangeMonster · 12/01/2021 15:07

@Klprr93 @AnxiousAnnie86 it's actually good to know that this is not an unusual thing to feel. I want to be happy about it, just can't.

@Blossom428 well I'm 5 weeks 4 days, I think, so if they were going to give me an early scan as endocrinologist suggested they should they need to book me in for one in the last few days of January, and because of how overstretched the NHS is at the moment I just don't think they will remember. I don't want to be a pain either and bother them. DH doesn't want to book a private scan until the last minute, if we get to 7 weeks and we haven't had a letter I think that's when he will agree. It's not a money thing, he's just trying not to think about it or plan too much - I think he has the same worries as I do.

I don't know if I'm craving burritos/tacos/fatty fried cheesy meat stuff because I'm pregnant, or because I'm just craving them (It wouldn't be unusual haha!)

AnxiousAnnie86 · 12/01/2021 15:11

@TheOrangeMonster definitely felt like that, I cried to my husband and said I'm just so miserable and scared all of the time, it's not nice and it's not fair this excitement has been taken from you :( hopefully soon you'll feel differently when you see it on the screen wriggling away!

@SS123456 yep a girl, she is 14 but she's so so so ungirly, my SIL has a young daughter who is "the star of the show" adored by DH husbands parents and spoiled beyond belief by SIL, she did not want me to have a baby and was very vocal about this... so part of me feels it will just be easier to have a boy, less drama 😂

TheOrangeMonster · 12/01/2021 15:14

@AnxiousAnnie86 your SIL told you she didn't want you to have a baby? Sorry but where does she get off?? None of her freaking business. Sorry, that just makes me so angry.

Anyone here got any cravings yet? My mum said that she used to drink litres of milk when she was pregnant with me. I've read about some weird ones - I hope if I start getting them I don't start wanting to lick walls or something!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 12/01/2021 15:27

@TheOrangeMonster Nando's! Morning noon and night! Unfortunately I can't get one 😂 the first 10 weeks I wanted Costa hot choc too!!

Yep, she's was quite mean about it, she can't have anymore she already has one, but said she had told her parents her daughter had better be there favourite and made it clear her daughter isn't happy about sharing, even though my daughter calls them grandma and grandad, my husband is her step father but her father if that's makes sense, she doesn't see her dad. When we told her about pregnancy she said I had to understand how difficult it was for her 😂 bearing in mind I've had a two year battle to get pregnant and suffered a terrible Mc!

Anyway, it doesn't matter, just bitterness for her to live with not me.

@AnxiousAnnie86 that's super inconvenient. I've just made some bread dough because I want fried dough balls with cheese - the fact I'm going to 3-4 hours effort to make them suggests it might be something other than a standard nothing-to-do-with-pregnancy craving.

It is her problem, it's sad for her that she can't have any more children and people just shouldn't judge, you never know how hard someone has tried. It seems like a lot of people on this thread have had a struggle - this one is a bit different to some of the others, it's so helpful.

One of my husbands' cousins got married 6 months before we did, and they're in their mid thirties now. Recently they got a puppy - nobody has mentioned anything but we think they might be struggling to get pregnant (hence the puppy when having lived together for 12 years or something they never got one before). So it's a bit of a conundrum how to tell the family without possibly upsetting them. I think husband will just send a regular old update email around with lots of normal news (or as much as we have) and drop it in in the middle so as to not make a big thing about it. If we get that far, that is.

Right, I've got to get off here now, I'm procrastinating work.... 😂

TheOrangeMonster · 12/01/2021 15:34

@AnxiousAnnie86 *but people shouldn't judge (not and)

AnxiousAnnie86 · 12/01/2021 15:46

@TheOrangeMonster well we all but gave up, we were going to start fertility treatment this year, so anyway we stopped focusing on it and we bought a puppy in October last year, the day after we paid his deposit we found out I was pregnant!!! What a shock! But we got our little Boy- which we wouldn't of done had we known we were going to get pregnant! What's meant to be is meant to be ey! We are OBSESSED with him x

SS123456 · 12/01/2021 15:58

@AnxiousAnnie86 oh wow that is shocking of your SIL! My SIL is currently 21 weeks with her first baby so I'm hoping it will nice to have babies with a few months gap between us. We were due to start fertility treatment in December when I fell pregnant too!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 12/01/2021 16:03

@SS123456 awww that will be so lovely! I have four nieces ages between 4-7 so they are all really close, my three best friends are currently trying for a baby, one is due to start ivf treatments Thursday so I'm hoping there will be some more babies around soon! X

OP posts:
SS123456 · 12/01/2021 16:43

@AnxiousAnnie86 oh fingers crossed! Is your DD pleased about the baby?

AnxiousAnnie86 · 12/01/2021 17:05

@SS123456 she knew we were trying as we told her the last time but it didn't last, and she was not happy then, she was slightly more happy this time but has slowly come round to the idea and I think it starting to get quite excited! X

OP posts:
SS123456 · 12/01/2021 17:23

@AnxiousAnnie86 teenagers eh 😂. My DS doesn't seem too fussed but he did say he wants a sister not a brother so he doesn't have to share his toys lol

AnxiousAnnie86 · 12/01/2021 17:43

Hahaha how old is your son @SS123456 my daughter originally said a boy but she isn't too bothered now x

OP posts:
SS123456 · 12/01/2021 18:03

@AnxiousAnnie86 he'll be 9 in April so in a real gamer stage at the moment. He is worried a boy will want to share his ps4 😂. I did tell him that girls can like those things too but he's still wanting a sister

Blossom428 · 13/01/2021 12:48
