I've got the app from last time. It stops at week 11 and when I click it, it says sorry your baby died which is lovely(!)

TheDaydreamBelievers · 05/10/2020 21:10

Thanks @Sexnotgender and @rosegoldivy

Jeez @GrandTheftWalrus... NHS maternity services needs some serious input from Psychology in designing its app / providing some actual humanity

I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself tonight. Following DD getting a negative covid test at the weekend and now being perfectly fine I've take unwell today.

It feels like I'm getting bronchitis or a chest infection. My throat is like I've swallowed razor blades and I feel generally unwell whilst resembling rudolf due the amount of nose blowing I'm doing.

I've got a real vicious chesty cough which has made my being sick way worse, anytime I cough I'm sick. I'm exhausted but will have to go get a covid test tomorrow and call into work sick.

I've sent DH out to buy me some bottles of lucazade sport in the hope I might keep it down and replenish some of what I've lost.

Can anyone recommend something for my throat? Paracetamol isn't touching it and most things seem to say not for pregnant women

Hats off to you @TheDaydreamBelievers for keeping track of everything!!

How's everyone this evening? I've got a very dodgy tummy so spend most on the loo (sorry!!) but other than that feeling ok so hoping something's just got agreed with me as haven't eaten anything out of the ordinary!

GrandTheftWalrus · 05/10/2020 21:48

I also use ovia pregnancy app. Its American but a good app for keeping track. It also has a part where they have a hand and show you what size their hands are at each week.

ScottishLassie91 · 05/10/2020 21:55

I'm using the bounty app and love it. You get a wee fact each day and it gives you an image of what you're baby looks like and the size of its feet! Every morning I wake up and we check our fact lol 🥰
Also you get some amazing vouchers and freebies on there! Free mum to be and newborn packs from boots and some of the deals are so good, £500 off travel systems, 70% off pregnancy pillows, £600 off nursery furniture.

@SugarPlumRoar sorry to hear you're poorly! Could you try some homemade honey and lemon to coat your throat a bit? X

ScottishLassie91 · 05/10/2020 22:00

Heres my little tadpole lol 😂 around 1cm and the size of a baked bean, today I learned their brain waves are now strong enough to be detected! 🥰

I use various apps, Pregnancy +, Ovia & BabyCentre.

Looks like an actual person 💕

GrandTheftWalrus · 06/10/2020 07:56

According to my ovia app it has hands and feet now.

ladymary86 · 06/10/2020 08:02

Thanks for all the pregnancy app recommendations. I've now got the baby centre one and ovia.

Anyone else wishing they could just fast forward things a bit. I'm only 4+1 and already I feel like this is going to be the longest pregnancy ever!!!

sunnysideup3 · 06/10/2020 08:23

I use the What To Expect app. It's pretty good, I mostly like knowing what size the baby is each week (it's poppy seed sized this week!)

I agree @ladymary86 the time is going so slow! I wfh so all days blend into one.

rosegoldivy · 06/10/2020 08:54

@grandtheftwalrus I love the ovia app, I used loads last time but that one was definitely my favourite. I loved changing the size theme to see what baby was measuring the same as compared to the bakery, cute animals, weird animals and fruit and veg haha

Is everyone going to find out what they are having or keep it a suprise.
We kept it a suprise last time and will keep it a suprise again this time

ScottishLassie91 · 06/10/2020 09:25

Were finding out what were having, I'm so impatient haha!
Anyone else have like a gut feeling on what they're having? X

rosegoldivy · 06/10/2020 09:39

@scottishlassie91 I'm convinced I'm having a boy this time. Think only a boy could catch me out and suprise me by finding out we were pregnant 😂

Last time even though we kept it a suprise I always knew I was having a girl. So weird.

GrandTheftWalrus · 06/10/2020 09:40

We kept it a surprise last time but I am finding out this time so we can plan. If its a girl we still have so much baby clothes from dd so won't need to buy a lot

sunnysideup3 · 06/10/2020 09:48

I really want to keep it a surprise but still need to convince my other half haha! He really wants to be prepared in advance

ScottishLassie91 · 06/10/2020 10:25

Oh how exciting!
Before pregnant, we always thought we'd have a boy but now we're thinking girl, not sure why lol x

sakuramiyagi · 06/10/2020 10:34

Looks like NHS Scotland are going to be offering NIPT as part of standard screening. I just got this letter today.

I'm really pleased as we had booked for a private test, so this is saving us £525!

First Trimester Scottish Mamas
Sexnotgender · 06/10/2020 10:39

I’ll be finding out! I’m far too nosy and impatient to wait.

Yes @sakuramiyagi they are offering the NIPT now. It literally changed about 2 weeks ago. I opted to have the testing done, waiting on the results. The NT measurements were well within normal parameters which is a good start.

ScottishStardust · 06/10/2020 10:48

Yeah we're going to find out what we're having! I've never been fussed but DH is keen! Plus we're never going to settle on a name so at least this will take out a whole set of potentials.

I think we're having a boy, but DH and my sister say girl! I've always been right with gut feelings for other people it's weird how I can't get a proper gut feeling for my own!

barbiemummy20 · 06/10/2020 10:50

We'll be finding out for sure we did with 1st, I went bang on 16 weeks last time 😂 we are planning to get them to put gender in envelope and give it to balloon girl and then have our dd pop it as a surprise x I am feeling so thankful for working from home as I am currently still in pjs and camera off for calls 😂

TheDaydreamBelievers · 06/10/2020 10:51

Time is slowwwww @ladymary86 Hurry up November so can see them on a scan and relax a bit (maybe)

We are not gonna find out @rosegoldivy - it's our first so happy either way as long as we make it and its healthy. Planning to think of 2 names for each sex then decide when they arrive. I think it's a boy though!
