@mrswilso Ooft keeping you waiting... I don’t understand how they can’t give appointment times for the phone call. They would have to give you and appointment when you physically had to visit? Is it just so they can cram more into the day?

PandemicBabyPlz · 05/10/2020 10:30

@mrswilso no way! That’s rubbish. I hope you aren’t put back on a list!

Fruitloops34 · 05/10/2020 10:33

Is there something in the water in East Ayrshire? 😂😂

TheDaydreamBelievers · 05/10/2020 11:27

@mrswilso that is so rubbish. Giving a telephone appt without a time is also useless for 99% of us. I've had a couple of appts in my TTC journey where the GP couldn't give a time and I had to plead 'I have my own clinics as the provider' to get them to give me at least a window!

For some reason today I am super paranoid and googling about MMC. This whole process is just an endless worry, isn't it?

Hi ladies - great to see so many new (virtual) faces.

@Buffbeag sounds like you are having as much luck as me with FV. Nothing in the calendar for me at all just yet which feels frustrating.

Bit of nausea here at the moment, sore boobs and just tired from poor sleep.

@TheDaydreamBelievers try to stay away from google! I feel your pain with the worry - it's so hard to not worry constantly.

mrswilso · 05/10/2020 13:16

The midwife I spoke to was really apologetic and said she'd call back later today with another appointment. If I don't hear back today I'll be on the phone first thing tomorrow.
To be honest, I've actually seen a post from a girl I know on Instagram who's recently found out she's pregnant too - she's further along but she had a horrendous time with her first choice team and ended up switching to another health board so if it continues to be a rubbish service I might do the same.
She's gone with Forth Valley and from her post, they seem to be treating her exactly as you would expect...

SugarPlumRoar · 05/10/2020 14:08

@mrswilso if it makes you feel any better I called up over a week ago to make my booking in appointment with NHSA&A they can't and won't give me a date or time, not even a rough time frame.

I've heard nothing since and have no idea when to expect this booking in appointment.

I sort of feel like we've just been left adrift and forgotten to an extent

ladymary86 · 05/10/2020 15:54

Got my booking appointment at first scan sorted!
Booking appointment is on the phone on a Saturday in November and first scan is the 3rd December. But we've also booked a private scan as well for November when I'm about 9 weeks.

mrswilso · 05/10/2020 16:46

I agree @SugarPlumRoar - it's ridiculous. I'm actually disgusted and a bit sad to be honest. They're making what should be an exciting time so much more stressful than it needs to be...

SugarPlumRoar · 05/10/2020 16:55

@mrswilso it's certainly a very different experience to when I had DD that's for sure. This time round it feels so clinical and impersonal and I'm struggling with it.

DH is struggling to an extent to, he's seeing me throwing up and feeling dreadful and last time he would just call my midwife but since we don't have one he's feeling helpless and he's stressing about not being allowed at scans.

Buffbeag · 05/10/2020 17:14

Anyone else having a 'meh' day? Don't know what's wrong with me, can't seem to get the motivation to do anything.

sunnysideup3 · 05/10/2020 17:59

Hi all!

So glad to find a thread for Scottish mamas.
I'm around 4w+4 (DD early June)
It's my first so I'm very anxious about everything.
I'm in Glasgow Smile

I've had many symptoms from very early on - nausea, sore boobs, crazy hunger, odd sleep pattern... It's been reassuring to have them but I'm also getting tired of them haha. We ordered takeout last night and I couldn't eat any of it!

butterfly193 · 05/10/2020 18:02

I've not moved from the couch all day 💤

mrswilso · 05/10/2020 18:13

Well I'm officially fuming...no call to rearrange appointment at all. I'm gonna phone tomorrow and let them know I'm not impressed at all.
If they can't give me at least a booking appointment time I'm gonna get in touch with the midwifery council. I'll take it right to the top.

mrswilso · 05/10/2020 18:14

Sorry to hear it's affecting you both so badly @SugarPlumRoar
I really can't believe how little care there seems to be right now x

Buffbeag · 05/10/2020 18:27

@butterfly193 glad it's not just me 🤣

CakeSchmake · 05/10/2020 18:59

Hi all, hope it's ok to join! I'm NHS Lothian, 6+4 today, due date 27th May I believe. This will be my second. I'm struggling with anxiety, and also finding it hardgoing with my toddler right now because of the constant nausea!

Sexnotgender · 05/10/2020 19:01

Struggling today, feeling nauseous, not helped by eating too many Percy pigs!

Make sure you check your maternity notes app if you have access. My scan appointment appeared on there well before I got a letter.

rosegoldivy · 05/10/2020 19:06

@mrswilso what mw are you with? I'm under mw in caladonia and when I phoned them last week when I found out was pregnant they just said they would be in touch in a few weeks and that was it.

@sexnotgender I've still got my maternity app from last time, hadn't even considered checking it again. Obv off to do that right now

mrswilso · 05/10/2020 19:27

I'm under the central hub for Lanarkshire at Airdrie I believe @rosegoldivy I was given the number by my practise (Twaddles/Abronhill).
I think I'm gonna try to speak to a midwife in any other area tomorrow if I can get one on the phone and see how easy it is to switch over. I'll try GGC and FV I think.
I've got little faith in the Lanarkshire girls after how they've handled me today, I cannot understand how a midwife can call in sick to work and NO-ONE has to call and cover/cancel/rebook her appointments!? On top of that, it's not as big a deal BUT I was sitting waiting, all excited about finally getting the ball rolling today and it was really disheartening to feel that I had been forgotten 🥺

rosegoldivy · 05/10/2020 20:09

@mrswilso yeah that's a bit of a joke that No1 can call you back even just for a curtosey call. I know I'm getting the same mw as I had last time as I asked when I called the central mw number. She was great past time but it's all changed so much since my last pregnancy
I would phone them back first thing in the morning and ask when they can reschedule your app

mrswilso · 05/10/2020 20:26

I'll keep you all posted. Hopefully I'm feeling a bit more optimistic tomorrow ✨

TheDaydreamBelievers · 05/10/2020 20:49

@Sexnotgender I've not heard theres an app! @mrswilso that blows and I'd feel annoyed too!

Hey new faces!

@TheDaydreamBelievers

You should get the details at your booking appointment.

rosegoldivy · 05/10/2020 21:00

@sexnotgender I've still got the app from last time but nothing new had been updated on it.

@Thedaydreambelievers the mw needs to send you details for the app or register you for it if I remember correct.
