Im 5+3 weeks, first time mum
Midwife telephone appt 13/10

I’m getting waves of nausea in the afternoons but nothing major yet! I do have a new found love of cheddar cheese though, which is weird because I’m lactose intolerant and never eat cheese. Can’t get enough of it, and anything minty or lemony!

rosegoldivy · 17/10/2020 12:44

What a morning. Was up last night with sharp shooting pain in my left ovary, called FV EPU this morning and they told me to come straight through.
ANYWAY after a lot of prodding and probing and tests I was able to see BOTH heartbeats on screen.

Yup. BOTH HEARTBEATS. as in twins. TWINS.

Fuck me if there was ever a time I needed a gin. Its now.

swiftt · 17/10/2020 12:58

@rosegoldivy oh my GOSH! Congratulations! That’s absolutely terrifying but also super exciting!

sakuramiyagi · 17/10/2020 13:36

@rosegoldivy What amazing news, congratulations!

mrswilso · 17/10/2020 14:24

Oh my gooooooodness! 😍
@rosegoldivy double congratulations!! 💕

Queenbee95 · 17/10/2020 14:36

Congratulations @rosegoldivy

rosegoldivy · 17/10/2020 15:02

Thanks ladies, to say I was abso speechless was a bit of an understatement 😂 I was myself at FV so came home and told my DH and he is over the moon and is as shocked as me as neither of us have twins in our families.

They did say as I'm measuring at 7+3 it's still early days and sometimes in twin pregnancies only one baby ends up being viable. They said this risk massively decreases after 12 weeks so once had the booking scan we will have confirmation.

So all going well I will have 3 children under 2years old. Jesus.

singleandttc · 17/10/2020 15:12

@rosegoldivy wow! Double congratulations! Very exciting times for you! Did the pain stop?

rosegoldivy · 17/10/2020 15:27

@singleandttc no the pain is still there, they said highly probable as there is 2 babies in there that it's just everything stretching twice as fast as it should but to keep an eye on it and if it gets worse then to go back through

CardiganBlobby · 17/10/2020 15:49

Congratulation @rosegoldivy! That's amazing!

singleandttc · 17/10/2020 15:49

@rosegoldivy ouch, poor you. Fingers crossed for you that it doesn't last too long.

Welliedays · 17/10/2020 16:15

@sakuramiyagi @queenbee95 @heydw96 I was absolutely dressing my scan as I waa sure Id had a mmc (my symptoms disappeared literally overnight when I was about 7 weeks). As I wasn't sure my hubby can make it for the NHS scan next week we booked a private one last night so I wouldn't have to go alone... And all was fine. They dated me a week ahead of my dates, so 13 weeks not 12. I totally get how you're feeling so thought I'd share my positive story!

PandemicBabyPlz · 17/10/2020 16:17

@rosegoldivy oh wow huge congratulations what a surprise for you! Double trouble! Bet that’ll take a while to sink in! Like the others have said - hope the pain eases soon and no more frights for you!

Welliedays · 17/10/2020 16:17

Congrats @rosegoldivy (although rather you than me 😂), I was slightly concerned we might have twins as I am a twin and they run in our family.

sunnysideup3 · 17/10/2020 16:44

Double congrats @rosegoldivy 😄 hope the pain goes away soon though.

ladymary86 · 17/10/2020 17:28

Oh wow!! Congratulations @rosegoldivy !!! That's lovely news!!

Buffbeag · 17/10/2020 17:42

@rosegoldivy massive congrats to you guys!

I had a second private scan this afternoon as I still haven't had any NHS appointments yet. Baby was wriggling around all over the place and she had trouble getting a good image lol but still tracking at 10+4 so all where it should be and seeing the wee heartbeat again is so amazing! 😍

Fruitloops34 · 17/10/2020 17:57

@Buffbeag I cannot believe you haven’t had an appointment through. Mine came through so quick but the midwife did tell me if I didn’t have my appointment by 10 weeks I was to call.

Might be worth giving them a bell(thats obviously if you haven’t already done so lol) 😉

TheDaydreamBelievers · 17/10/2020 18:25

Oh my godddd @rosegoldivy !!! Are they identical? More likely if there are no twins in the family! How old is your other little one?

@Welliedays glad your scan went well! Counting down the 2 weeks till mine

Buffbeag · 17/10/2020 18:43

@Fruitloops34 I have a booking appointment for tues which only came through this week but as not been seen yet no idea when my scan will be so we just wanted to get a private scan so we knew everything was as it should be 🙂

rosegoldivy · 17/10/2020 19:25

@thedaydreambelivers do you know I didn't even ask if it was identical twins 😂😂 I didn't even ask anything as I was too busy panicking 🤣🤣
The twins will arrive in May and then DD1 will be 2 in the July. Its going to be absolute chaos.

Just need to try to get to 12 weeks for dating scan to confirm that both pregnancies are viable, think as there's still that chance it could end in one pregnancy, I don't want to get too excited/scared about twins.... Easier said than done.

No wonder I've been feeling so ill this time compared to last time 😂😂

Welliedays · 17/10/2020 20:18

They'll likely manage to get you in for a scan at the right time @buffbeag they're usually done between 12 and 14 weeks so I'd be surprised if you don't get in in the right timescale

ScottishStardust · 17/10/2020 22:38

Since the chats yesterday about MMC's it's been in my head! We just 10 days until our scan and I know I can't think like this for until then! I just try to keep thinking it's out with my control and what will be will be. But then at the same time these sad things 'have' to happen to someone so why not me!

We seen baby's heartbeat @ 6w following an private early scan so focusing on that can be a positive and reduce risk further!

barbiemummy20 · 18/10/2020 07:48

@rosegoldivy wow twins congrats, hoping everything goes well 💕

Yesterday was a right off for me, felt so unwell and no energy spent the day in bed and managed to stumoch some toast, I am determined to not let today be the same so hubby and wee one are taking dog a walk and I am gonna get up and get showered and get a washing on!

I hope everyone is keeping well and has a great Sunday 💕

Welliedays · 18/10/2020 09:51

@scottishstardust if you've seen a heartbeat then you're chances of a mmc are already smaller. And if you haven't noticed a complete change in symptoms (from all the symptoms to none) then you really shouldn't worry
