@rosegoldivy I'm feeling exactly the same. Since 5 weeks I've managed one meal a day and that is through necessity rather than wanting to eat.

I'm nauseous all the time and so many things are making me gag.

Discovered apple and mango juice the other day when prowling the aisles for something I could stomach. Drank a family sized carton in one day! Oops!

PandemicBabyPlz · 15/10/2020 16:36

I think it’s the fatigue making me unable to contemplate dinners. Like the eating part is fine but the thought of actually preparing anything. I swear I’m going to be takeout queen... My DH still doesn’t think it’s possible to have symptoms early on so he still fully expects normality whereas I’m nodding off on the couch full on baby brain. Found a bag of frozen peas in the fridge. Must have forgotten to put them back in freezer 😆

Welliedays · 15/10/2020 17:53

@sakuramiyagi I was exactly the same at your stage...waant hungry and felt sick. I found forcing my self to eat cereal actually helped the nausea as it turns out an empty stomach was making it worse... Which is not easy when thr idea of food makes you sick! I lived on bread for a week and cereal for the next week 😂 then my nausea miraculously vanished and has (quite concerningly) never returned.

sakuramiyagi · 15/10/2020 17:58

@Welliedays I've been trying to eat cereal as I thought something bland might be good. Only issue is I have to eat it really quickly as when it stops being crunchy I start gagging when eating it. Must be a texture thing 😩

I've went of chocolate and ice cream too. I could actually cry!

Welliedays · 15/10/2020 18:00

@sakuramiyagi I've gone off chocolate... And coffee!! Can't stop eating crisps though try plain or salt and vinegar walkers.. Sound awful and you don't feel like them, but they do help!

Buffbeag · 15/10/2020 18:06

@Welliedays how far along are you?

I can't stomach tea which is making me want to cry 😫 I agree about the crisps though, plain are my savour just now

TheDaydreamBelievers · 15/10/2020 18:54

7+4 (I think, losing track) and I'm wanting to eat EVERYTHING.

Time is moving so slowly. I just want it to be the scan so I can see it all looks okay

OP posts:
Welliedays · 15/10/2020 19:16

I can't do tea either @buffbeag! I'm 12 weeks I think, scan soon to confirm. How far along are you?

Buffbeag · 15/10/2020 19:17

I am 10+2 @Welliedays so it is reassuring to hear that your nausea lessened too as I was worrying about it lol.

Don't get me wrong I still feel sick in mornings and evenings but not so much during the daytime now.

swiftt · 15/10/2020 19:25

@PandemicBabyPlz my partner is the same, every time I tell him about either sore boobs or feeling sick or tired, he says that surely it’s too early for any of that!

rosegoldivy · 15/10/2020 19:35

@buffbeag I can't stomach tea (or coffee either) . Happened last time I was preg and (sorry to give you bad news incase it happens to you) I couldn't face a cuppa until baby arrived 😫

I honestly don't think the guys get how fuckin exhausting it is growing a human. I've had 2 naps today and I'm still moaning I'm tired 😂

@sakuramiyagi apple and mango juice sounds right up my street

@PandemicBabyPlz I would normally happy live on takeout but the thought of anything hot or anything cooked honestly turns my stomach.

I wandered about tesco today looking for inspiration for something to eat and ended up with salad and it honestly hit the spot. no had a salad in about a year. Pregnancy is weird.

Buffbeag · 15/10/2020 19:49

@rosegoldivy doesn't surprise me that it last all pregnancy. I have been drinking decaf tea for two years but I still miss that first cup of tea in the morning.

Must admit though pregnancy has been good for my evening snacking, after my dinner I can't face eating anything else lol

ladymary86 · 16/10/2020 08:01

@Buffbeag @rosegoldivy I've also gone right off tea. I used to live for my morning cup but now I just can't face it and I'm gutted!!

butterfly193 · 16/10/2020 08:42

I've went off coffee too and I usually love it but makes me feel so sick 🤢

swiftt · 16/10/2020 08:47

Has anyone told their work? I’m a pharmacy technician in community, and accidentally told my boss when I found out because I was in a bit of a flap about it. Turns out they’re glad I told them early because they want me to avoid patient contact until I’m 12 weeks, and then after 28 weeks but obviously they’d prefer me to avoid most of it the entire time. This is fine by me, the difficulty I have is that I work in multiple (40+) pharmacies across the country so I potentially have to have an awkward chat with each branch I visit to let them know I’m avoiding patient contact but without saying why at the moment. They’re being careful with trying to keep me based closer to home for now to minimise risk, but I’m still finding it quite an awkward topic to broach. I wish I could just tell them so they knew what was going on, rather than looking like I’m being difficult haha!

Fruitloops34 · 16/10/2020 09:54

@swiftt

I told my boss the morning I did my test, think cause I was in shock and had been away from my desk(wfh) for about an hour she had been trying to get me. I just blurted it out.
Glad I told her though cause she’s been good at letting me take extra breaks during the day and stuff when I haven’t been feeling too well.
Plus she’s a mum herself and would have understand had anything went wrong.

singleandttc · 16/10/2020 10:33

@swiftt wow your boss is so nice! I'm a pharmacist in community but my boss wants me to keep doing everything. I asked about vaccinating- because I'm not really comfortable at this stage increasing my contact with strangers, but no, I've to do that still. I didn't want to be awkward so I've given it a go, but with my nausea I'm thinking I'm just going to outright refuse to do them saying I can't do the cpr without vomiting on someone. Their only advice was to wear my ppe. I was even asked to work back an hour I asked for off for a midwife appointment. I had to say no, I'm legally entitled to paid time off for it.

swiftt · 16/10/2020 10:36

@singleandttc oh my gosh, that’s awful! I do know a pharmacist who is pregnant and who does have to do face to face consultations and vaccinations etc, but luckily as I’m ‘just a tech’ I can avoid much of it when there are other staff around.

sunnysideup3 · 16/10/2020 10:45

I agree with those that mentioned the time is moving so slow... I wfh and everything is shut of course so I feel like I can't fill my days with anything. And I'm so tired that I don't want to do anything anyway 😓

It's weird how food tolerance changes week by week too - I've been drinking this green kale/apple juice for the past week and loved it, tried drinking some last night and hated it.

ladymary86 · 16/10/2020 11:28

@swiftt I've told my boss at work too. I knew I would start to feel nauseated and it would be so obvious. I've been off work this week and it's really kicked off... I have no idea how I'm going to cope going back on Monday...

TheDaydreamBelievers · 16/10/2020 11:51

Im planning to tell my bosses etc after the scan, assuming everything is fine. To be honest if it isnt fine I can anticipate needing some time off so may have to tell them then too!

butterfly193 · 16/10/2020 12:06

I told my boss as I work in a ward but they seemed ok I've just to keep away from Covid patients but still scary 😫I caved today n booked a early scan for next week.

mrswilso · 16/10/2020 12:22

I can say after having this scare I'm really glad I told my boss early - he's been amazing this week and really understanding. If I hadn't told him I would have been really stressed about taking time off, it's allowed me to put myself first this week without feeling too guilty about it.

I had some FRERs delivered this morning and just got my first beautiful dye stealer - wish I could really enjoy it but I'm still trying not to get too carried away. I'm interested to so another one in a day or two and see if there's any difference between them, but at the same time I know I won't settle until I've seen another scan.
Call me crazy-mental BUT...can anyone else see the teeeeeniest little glimmer of hope in that empty looking sac? ✨ up at the top near the middle? I swear I can see the absolute faintest outline of a tiny circle...

singleandttc · 16/10/2020 12:23

@swiftt there's no 'just'

My work were awful with my first pregnancy too. It's a different boss this time so I was hoping things might have improved but I'm just going to be forceful. I'm just refusing to do consultations with anyone that's got a rash or cough. Anyone potentially contagious. I have someone in each shop that knows l'm pregnant and can speak to them for me. I'll speak to my boss next week about stopping flu jags. I've got my review soon so I'm going to make sure my proper risk assessment is done then too.

mrswilso · 16/10/2020 12:24

I mean you really have to pinch to zoom in...maybe I am just seeing things 🤣
