@ScottishStardust hello! We moved here at the beginning of the year and obviously lock down has meant that I don't really know anyone here yet, so it's nice to 'meet' you!

They always find it difficult to get blood out of me too - last time they went for my hand 😂 one nurse suggested to make sure I was really hydrated and to drink some hot drinks beforehand...

@Buffbeag I'm totally the opposite to the 'norm' when it comes to telling people. I've already told a fair few...🙈 but not in an announcement way, more of a 'this is the situation, hopefully it'll be ok this time' sort of way. How far along are you?

Buffbeag · 13/10/2020 19:09

@Daffodil21 Hi!

I am 10 weeks today but have had two previous MC so we are very nervous about telling people. Besides haven't even had my booking appointment yet.

Welliedays · 13/10/2020 19:20

I'm not @buffbeag

Daffodil21 · 13/10/2020 19:27

@Buffbeag hi! I'm so sorry to hear that, I've had 2 mcs too which was actually my reason for telling some people really soon. We've told both our parents and our close friends, who all knew our history and that we're TTC. It's such a personal decision and depends on so many factors. I told the same people last time and I was glad I did because I needed their support in the end, but it's not for everyone. I hope you're still managing to find enjoyment in this pregnancy where you can ❤️

rosegoldivy · 13/10/2020 19:28

@buffbeag I've told my 2 best friends and my manager and I'm planning on telling my mum and dad this week. Everyone else can wait till after 13 weeks.
Deliberately not telling the MIL as last time she fuckin blabbed to everyone as she was too excited to keep it to herself. Cow.

Buffbeag · 13/10/2020 19:31

@Daffodil21my family are not aware of our history as want to keep it an exciting time for them. My best friend is aware of the MC but we still just decided to keep it until we were past the 12 week mark before telling anyone.

@rosegoldivy I am waiting to tell me work as I only just got a perm position so I don't want to tell them straight away in case they think I was hiding it just to get a perm position lol

Queenbee95 · 13/10/2020 19:38

Anyone else struggling with Dysgeusia. It’s making my life a living hell right now. The sickness tailed off around 9 weeks for me but since I’ve had this and I really don’t know what’s worse 😭

rosegoldivy · 13/10/2020 20:14

@queenbee95 I'm not going to lie, I had to Google what that was. It sounds horrible

Queenbee95 · 13/10/2020 20:18

I didn’t know there was a fancy name for it either till I googled what the heck it was. I’m hoping it goes away by the start of second trimester or it says I could be stuck with it till birth which I soooo do not want. I cannot stand it anymore, I think I’d rather feel nauseous all day again!

ScottishStardust · 13/10/2020 20:28

Aww what a nightmare!! Grampian is a large area but perhaps once we are passed scans dates we can reveal more info and see if we're close by! Haha!

She tried both my hands! But thanks for the tip, tomorrow will be a morning of lots of fluids to see if that helps! I'm just worried where they'll try after my arms/hands.

sunnysideup3 · 13/10/2020 20:41

We're not telling anyone until much later. I don't really want to deal with explaining stuff if things don't work out.

Perhaps a silly question but what do I tell work when I need to go to the booking appointment and the scan? It'll still be early days, I don't want to tell my work unless it's necessary. I don't really like my manager and I don't trust him not to tell anyone. I was going to book time off and not tell anything. Just wondering what others were planning to do 😊

rosegoldivy · 13/10/2020 20:47

@sunnysideup3 can you say you have a doctors appointment or a dentist appointment or something similar to get time off?

TheDaydreamBelievers · 13/10/2020 21:12

Yeah @sunnysideup3 I've gone for vague "medical telephone appt", "hospital appt". I'm nhs though so managers know they can only ask if you need any additional support, not directly ask what's up

ScottishStardust · 13/10/2020 21:27

For my booking appointment I just said it had an appointment' and then the other day for bloods I just said I had another. Luckily my manager was off for the first appointment so wasn't really aware.

But since I have to go back tomorrow AM I decided to tell her to avoid speculation and also worry that something was up! My thoughts were if things were to go wrong then she'd know why I was off.

Just do what you feel comfortable doing! And other folk have said they don't need to know why and details - if they do then just ask to be referred to Occupational Health and you'll advise them.

sunnysideup3 · 14/10/2020 07:36

Thanks sharing the way you've done things ladies 😌 I'll just go with 'doctor's appt' for now.

In other news, today I can't decide whether I'm starving or nauseous! Such a weird feeling haha

Welliedays · 14/10/2020 10:15

@sunnysideup3 my booking app was over lunch and I'm working from home so I just went without saying anything and then worked later to make up the extra bit of time I took. I'm taking holiday for my scan... I have loads of days to take and I decided if it's good or bad news I won't feel like working afterwards either way! It's a Monday so it's easy to say I'm having a long weekend with no questions asked

mrswilso · 14/10/2020 12:16

Bleeding has eased up today, I've just moved my private scan forward. Going tonight at 6.40pm. I'm 6+4 so not sure what I'm expecting to see and it might not give me anymore reassurance but I can't just sit in limbo any longer 🥺

ladymary86 · 14/10/2020 12:46

@mrswilso I hope the scan goes alright and you get some reassurance

singleandttc · 14/10/2020 12:51

@mrswilso good luck tonight. We'll have everything crossed for you.

MumToBeMaz · 14/10/2020 13:10

@mrswilso We will all be thinking of you and sending our positive thoughts. That anxiety waiting in limbo is awful, I'm glad you're seeing someone tonight!

mrswilso · 14/10/2020 13:27

Thanks girls 💕 hopefully I'll update with cheery news later 🤞🏻✨ x

TheDaydreamBelievers · 14/10/2020 13:31

Crossing my fingers and toes for good news @mrswilso !

Is anyone else doing the same as me- my husband says that in one breath I'm complaining about how I have no symptoms and I'm worried about MMC . Then in the other breath I am complaining about feeling v tired, and hot, and my giant boobs, and hungry but also dont want anything and nauseated, and tearing up at Dr Who...

swiftt · 14/10/2020 13:33

@mrswilso good luck tonight! Will keep my fingers crossed for you. X

Daffodil21 · 14/10/2020 14:12

@ScottishStardust absolutely! Maybe via PM though haha. How did you get on with your bloods today?

@TheDaydreamBelievers I'm a bit worried I don't really have any symptoms anymore. I wake up feeling really groggy and feel sickly in bed at night (but never actually sick), but that's it. A bit worried that's side affects from the drugs, and that I don't really have any symptoms.

@mrswilso so sorry you're in the awful limbo stage. Hopefully you get some reassurance this evening. Thinking of you and hoping all goes well x

Fruitloops34 · 14/10/2020 14:30

@Queenbee95

I’ve just googled that and oh my goodness tv has terrible! I really hoped that subsides soon.
