@MumToBeMaz mines was an abdominal scan done in paisley at Elite Ultrasound. It was £55 and that included the pictures as well 😊

Buffbeag · 13/10/2020 12:03

@sunnysideup3 glad it is not just me. I feel like I have been living off a beige diet this last few weeks but it's seems to be the only things I can keep down. Hoping that once I am past first trimester that I will start to enjoy food again 🙄

Fruitloops34 · 13/10/2020 12:11

Thanks for all your comments ladies!
It really was a new one for me, honestly thought that only happened in old age haha!

Think I’ll give the burgers a miss for a while and stick to toast and soup. My mum said to me it might not even be proper sickness, it could be that it was just too heavy for my stomach and it wasn’t digesting fast enough so my body just thought right we need to get rid of this, and out it came forcefully lol.

Where are we all at? I’m 11 weeks tomorrow. When I look back I think it’s went fast so far but at the time it feel slow, not sure if that makes sense.

Buffbeag · 13/10/2020 12:22

@Fruitloops34 I am 10 weeks today. Feels like it has been a long few weeks but looking back I can't believe we are nearly half way though October!

GrandTheftWalrus · 13/10/2020 12:40

I should be 9wks today but as the scan put me back I'm 8+5. I found out at 5+3. Time is going so slowly. My booking appointment isn't until the 21st and ill be 10wks i just want time to hurry up till 12wk scan so I can see baby again and hopefully its all going well still.

singleandttc · 13/10/2020 13:02

I'm only 7+3 and it feels like I've been feeling sick forever. It's really dragging. I'm so fed up of being scared to eat or move. I really hope it doesn't last 32 weeks like last time.

Welliedays · 13/10/2020 13:11

@fruitloops34 I'm 12 weeks on Thursday until my scan tells me otherwise anyway!

Queenbee95 · 13/10/2020 13:36

I’m 11+2! Dating scan next Tuesday so we’ll find out exactly when baba should be roughly arriving 💞

barbiemummy20 · 13/10/2020 13:59

Hey all, hope everyone is keeping well 💕 last night was my flu jag, just had my booking apt on phone with midwife there took about 25 mins and just lots of questions, I felt so boring answer was no to 90% of them I have my bloods on Thursday and have to confirm if I wish any screening so she can request scan, I am in 2 minds but think we are going to say no as the results wouldn't influence the outcome for us! My first morning being actually sick instead of just feeling nauseous which is super feel like a new human, being sick and getting on with day rather than the awful yucky feeling all day long 😂 loving rich tea biscuits just now can't get enough of them 👌🏻

sunnysideup3 · 13/10/2020 14:03

Wow everyone is so much further ahead! I'm only 5w+5. 😅

Daffodil21 · 13/10/2020 14:06

Hi ladies,

Can I join..? I'm not technically Scottish but I do live in Scotland - is that enough? Grin

I think I'm around 5+2, so super early. I've known for a couple of weeks because I got an early result, but I've been refraining from joining the pregnancy groups due to being so early and previous mc, but decided to take the jump.

I recognise a couple of names on here from other threads (waves at @Welliedays 👋)

rosegoldivy · 13/10/2020 14:16

I think I'm about 7weeks take or leave a few days, got a scan booked for Halloween so will have a better idea then.

No spewing for me today! (yet) though I have been on the fruit pastal ice lollies (last time I was pregnant they were a life saver) I was saying to DH yday I was needing something cold and wet (no idea what I wanted but just knew I needed something cold and wet) so DH brought home a box of fruit pastal ice lollies last night so am adament they have made me feel better.

Had my booking appointment today to, then in for my bloods in 2 weeks.
Mw also said due to difficulty in labour last time and ending up with an emergency section I would be classed as red pathway (?) basically means the choice of wither I want a natural birth or an elective section is totally up to me which I'm pleased about as I thought I would have to push to get an elective.

singleandttc · 13/10/2020 14:25

Hi @Daffodil21 welcome! If you live in Scotland then you're one of us now.

@barbiemummy20 the screening can be helpful to prepare etc if there is something. There's additional heart scans and things they can do. Though I got a low risk result result with my little girl who does have Down's syndrome, so it won't show everything. She's a happy and healthy girl so i wouldn't change her for the world, but I'm getting the NIPT so I know early this time if there is something. I have a scarily high chance of Edwards and pataus too though for some reason. I like to be super prepared when I can. It's totally up to you of course, I just wanted to put forward the balanced view of testing. Healthcare professionals can be very negative about it all.

MumToBeMaz · 13/10/2020 14:35

@sunnysideup3 You're a day ahead of me! Hahah

Are flu jags arranged through the midwife or GP? (I'm NHS Lanarkshire)

Welliedays · 13/10/2020 14:35

Ahhh good for you to have found me on this thread @daffodil21 I didn't realise you were in Scotland too. I'm also not Scottish but living here and didn't even think about whether that gave me rights to join or not 😂 I'm so pleased you're taking the plunge, I've realised that actually been on the groups is probably a good thing, if something goes wrong then there's support, and when everything goes well you haven't fretted on your own for no reason when you can put every little tweak and concern past everyone on the chat!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 13/10/2020 14:38

Hi @Daffodil21 of course you can join! What healthboard are you in?

I'm 7+2. I said yes to screening because we would likely choose to end the pregnancy for something that impacted highly on quality of life and for other genetic conditions we would like to be prepared even with those conditions that we would choose to.proceed.

@sunnysideup3

😂 I felt like that at 5w and everyone else was way ahead of me.

rosegoldivy · 13/10/2020 14:39

@mumtobemaz I'm pretty sure I phoned the GP I'm registered with to make an appointment for flu jag and just told them the midwife told me to make the appointment as I was pregnant.

Daffodil21 · 13/10/2020 14:44

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! I'm in NHS Grampian.

@Welliedays yeah, sometimes I just try and ignore the fact I'm pregnant and try and get on with my day (ha!), and then the rest of the time I just think I'll enjoy it while it lasts, and hopefully this time it will last.

@MumToBeMaz I phone the GP about that, and they gave me a phone number that was a general one about vaccinations who said they don't vaccinate until you're 12 weeks. It may be different in your area though?

I'm on a cocktail of drugs - clexane, prednisolone, cyclogest, high dose folic acid and metformin - anyone else in the same boat? Now have to self isolate thanks to the prednisolone!

Welliedays · 13/10/2020 15:06

@daffodil21 I'm exactly the same, even now. I know it's slightly different, but I don't know if you remember I hada chemical just before this one so I keep waiting for something to go wrong! I keep saying if I get to 13 weeks I'll relax a little bit... 10 days to go!!

Daffodil21 · 13/10/2020 16:07

@Welliedays yes I do remember ❤️ glad you're nearly 13 weeks!!

barbiemummy20 · 13/10/2020 17:48

@singleandttc thanks for the info, defo something to consider 💕
@MumToBeMaz midwife admin called me to make the appt they were doing an additional evening clinic I am in Lanarkshire too!

I have just ate a take away tapas and feel ready to sleep 💤

swiftt · 13/10/2020 18:02

6+1 for me. Absolutely ravenous today! Do you get a letter with your booking appt date, or do they phone?

Buffbeag · 13/10/2020 18:06

Anyone else waiting till after the first trimester to tell anyone?

Starting to get harder to keep it a secret 😌

ScottishStardust · 13/10/2020 18:33

@Daffodil21 welcome to the party!! I'm also NHS Grampian so it's nice to have someone in the same!

Regarding symptoms, mines have been subsiding for a week now (I'm 10w 5d) which has been great. Still not hungry but at least when I am eating I'm not put off by it! I've been lucky if the nausea and sickness front! Hope that's not a jinx!

I went for bloods yesterday and midwife had no luck after 3 attempts! I've never been very good at it ... so off to the hospital tomorrow to see who can get blood out of me! I suspect I'll be w bit of a pin pad!! Just as well I'm not scared!
