@TheDaydreamBelievers that's so weird that they just called you like that! I wouldn't want that as I have to attend a lot of meetings in my job. At least it's done now I guess.

@ladymary86 I know, the huge differences in the antenatal care are surprising to me, as we're all in similar area too.

I have a face to face booking appointment in November, hope covid doesn't mess it up. I hope the letter they send me will have a bit more information on the timeline of all the tests. So far it's all been very vague.

ladymary86 · 12/10/2020 16:13

@sunnysideup3 it's the fact that people within the same health boards are having different experiences!

I'm so glad we've booked our private scan now.

Has anyone had any experience in Scotland of trying to ensure they have a private room after birth? I had a bad experience with my son on a ward and I'd actually even happily pay for a private room for however long we may need to be in with this one...

CardiganBlobby · 12/10/2020 16:20

One down @TheDaydreamBelievers - good that you have that out of the way now and sorted ahead of the 12 week scan.

I got confirmation from the booking team this morning that the appointment I have on 3rd Nov will be my booking one (at about 10 weeks I think) and I will get the 12 week scan appointment sorted when there.

It feels like months since I found out I was pregnant - how does time pass so slowly?!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 12/10/2020 16:52

@sunnysideup3 they got lucky- I'm an nhs clinician myself so they just happened to call in a 45 min gap between appts!

I went for a private scan today. Saw the wee heartbeat. Been put to 8+4 so my due date is now 20th May which is the same day I got told I lost the last one.

Glad to hear things all look good @GrandTheftWalrus

GrandTheftWalrus · 12/10/2020 18:22

I couldn't even look at the screen until she said it was there and there was a heartbeat.

ScottishLassie91 · 12/10/2020 18:56

Fab news @grandtheftwalrus, that must have been emotional for upu and so glad all okay 💜 x

@TheDayDreamBelievers it's so weird even how in the same health board things are getting done so differently!

GrandTheftWalrus · 12/10/2020 19:05

It really was. I didn't cry but was very close. It was at the same place as last time so that made me nervous as well.

We just looked at each other and held hands.

ladymary86 · 12/10/2020 19:47

@GrandTheftWalrus that's a fab scan pic!! How lovely!

GrandTheftWalrus · 12/10/2020 20:31

It was great seeing the wee heartbeat. When she first put the wand on and i saw a bit of empty womb all I could think of was its happened again. But then we saw the heartbeat and I relaxed and enjoyed the scan.

ScottishLassie91 · 12/10/2020 20:44

Had our scan tonight and we have one little blob dating between 7 and 8 weeks atm with a nice heartbeat 🥰 x
A bit nervy at first as they were taking a bit of time to find it but apparently my fruit cravings have left me with a rather gassy tummy 😂 so total relief xx

rosegoldivy · 12/10/2020 20:47

@grandtheftwalrus great news and great scan picture

@mrswilso hope your feeling a bit better, did u phone the EPU

Its begun for me. Av been spewing my guts all day 😭 I was in the office today and had all the memories of my first pregnancy having to lie down in the disabled toilet floor 😂😂

Wfh for the next two weeks so at least I can lie on my own bathroom floor. Silver lining and all that 🙄

Feel sick, feel hungry, spew, feel sick, feel hungry spew. Repeat for the next 5 weeks until I'm passed 12 weeks 😭😭

GrandTheftWalrus · 12/10/2020 20:54

I've not actually thrown up yet. But just feel sick all the time. Was the same last time I was only sick a handful of times.

rosegoldivy · 12/10/2020 21:21

@grandtheftwalrus I was only really bad last time between weeks 8 and 10 I'm sure. I remember having to go to Newcastle with my work and getting them to stop the car on the hard shoulder so I could be sick. That's how I revealed to them I was pregnant 😂😂😂

ladymary86 · 12/10/2020 21:48

Great news @ScottishLassie91 !!!

singleandttc · 12/10/2020 21:59

@GrandTheftWalrus what a lovely scan photo.

@ScottishLassie91 aww, just the one?

So glad everyone's scans went well today :)

ScottishLassie91 · 12/10/2020 22:51

@singleandttc yeah just one in there lol! She made sure to double check 😂

Fruitloops34 · 13/10/2020 07:52

Morning ladies,

Think I hit a real low point in this first trimester business last night.

I had felt quite hungry for dinner so had a burger and some fries which I loved at the time. Anyway..fast forward about 4 hours to 9pm last night and something made me cough, straight away I hit the gag and had to run to the toilet. I projectile vomited up the burger and fries so hard and for so long that I ended up peeing myself a little. So yeah.....real low point in my life so far 🥴😷

How you all doing this morning? 😉

TheDaydreamBelievers · 13/10/2020 09:05

Jeez @Fruitloops34 poor you!!!

I feel a bit guilty saying I'm mostly fine! Needing to eat first thing otherwise I feel sick and needing to find a healthier option for that than croissants!

Aaw I'm so chuffed for you girls @GrandTheftWalrus and @ScottishLassie91 💕 the relief must be amazing!

I did call back @rosegoldivy - spoke to Wishaw EPU later on and the woman there was so lovely! She really helped to put my mind at ease, I know there's nothing I can do but wait and see but no matter how much you know it yourself, the reassurance of hearing a nurse say the same thing makes it a bit easier. She said it's too early to scan - which I expected - and that I should take another test in a week to confirm that bubs made it. Ordered some FRERS yesterday which should be here by Thursday latest so I'll probably rip the pack open on Thursday night 😂
The cramping eased off yesterday afternoon and the spotting had stopped reaching the pad by about 7pm. I've had two clean wipes this morning so far too so I'm cautiously optimistic and crossing my fingers so so tightly! 🤞🏻✨
Hope you're not feeling too terrible today 😘
I've taken today off work so I can have another day with my feet up. I'd be useless today anyway, I'd be in the loo every ten minutes checking myself 😂
I also got a call from GGC this morning who have sent a referral back to Lanarkshire for the booking appointment so that they can book my scan date - I'm past the point of caring who actually deals with me I'm just glad I've finally had some confirmation that I'm on the system now!

Buffbeag · 13/10/2020 09:20

Morning.

I haven't had projectile vomiting thank goodness but had it the other way around 😣 but I normally suffer with IBS so think the pregnancy hormones aren't helping with that @Fruitloops34

I'm glad @TheDaydreamBelievers that I am not the only one who feels like they are being unhealthy I need to eat first thing and so far it's been bagels or flatbreads and butter 🙄

MumToBeMaz · 13/10/2020 10:19

Morning everyone. Hope you are all doing okay today.

How exciting to hear about your scans @GrandTheftWalrus and @ScottishLassie91. I have one booked for my 8 weeks on the 31st. Were your scans internal? Or did they just go through the tummy?

I had my first new symptom last night. A migraine! Sad
Was in bed from 7pm last night to 4:30 this morning and just feeling nauseous ever since. Hope this isn't a regular thing but kinda glad that it's showing something is going in with my hormones!

I also had my first call with my midwife yesterday and have my booking appointment scheduled for the 5th November. It's exciting having a date to finally put in my diary!

GrandTheftWalrus · 13/10/2020 10:53

It was an abdominal scan. It was at baby scanning in Ingram house in Glasgow. It was 55 for the scan and then they emailed me the pics

sunnysideup3 · 13/10/2020 10:54

Morning all,

That sounds awful @Fruitloops34, hope it's just a one of and you can enjoy many burgers in the future.

I've been feeling mostly fine, just a light nausea sometimes and still really sore boobs. I really want the soreness to end finally, it's been weeks... I also feel really tired but I'm never sure if it's a normal tiredness or a pregnancy tiredness haha.

@Buffbeag I've been having bread and butter most mornings, I can't think of eating something with more flavour.
