At least it is something to aim towards @butterfly193

I am assuming mine is only quicker as I'm a wee bit further along x

TheDaydreamBelievers · 12/10/2020 09:15

Abysmal weather @Buffbeag!

I'm feeling happy to have hit 7 weeks. All feels a bit more real now as parents know. Also super nauseated today and right boob hurts (but only the right Hmm). Took another cheap strip test this morning (I'm down to one a week) and it still shows v strong so that's good. Not sure how I will last 3 more weeks until scan!!!

@Buffbeag I know just so impatient 😆

Buffbeag · 12/10/2020 09:39

@TheDaydreamBelievers yeah I would happily just stay in my house all day in my jammies but I have an eye appointment this morning so need to get myself organised lol.

@butterfly193 tell me about it, if I hadn't had a private scan already I would be pulling my hair out

sunnysideup3 · 12/10/2020 10:19

Dreadful weather, I just want to curl up in bed... I haven't had many symptoms recently, only constantly sore boobs. Trying not to worry about the lack of nausea haha.

@Buffbeag it's nice to have a date to look forward to isn't it.

Fruitloops34 · 12/10/2020 10:41

Morning ladies,

Horrible morning and at times like this I’m super glad to be working from home. Worked out as well that I won’t be back in the office as we aren’t going back until at least end of March and I will be finishing up for Mat leave then.

I woke in the night about 3am feeling horrendous, sore chest like I couldn’t breathe, blocked tubes in my face. Weak muscles, but woke up at 8.30 and felt fine again. Really really weird.

Hope you are all well 🙂

mrswilso · 12/10/2020 11:13

It's miserable here too - glad I'm off work today.

Glad I'm off for other reasons too. Although I'm not bleeding through to my liner I've been up since 4am with terrible cramping and it's darker pink/red when I wipe now.
Called EPU at the Royal and left a message so hoping I get a call back soon, just for some reassurance that there's nothing else I can do but wait it out. I'm just ordering some FRERS again now 😭 I'm gonna wait for the bleeding to stop then I'll test and take it from there.
Trying so hard not to worry too much but my gut feeling just isn't great today 🥺

Sexnotgender · 12/10/2020 11:24

Glad I’m WFH too, I’m currently snuggled under my heated blanket. Highly recommend it!

singleandttc · 12/10/2020 11:48

@mrswilso I hope you hear back from the EPU soon. Hopefully they'll book you in for a scan. Sending hugs.

I had my early nhs dating scan this morning and wow it was so disorganised. The EPU was running so far behind. I was there for nearly two hours. It was a 9.20 appointment so no idea how they managed that. The scan was really stressful. They obviously didn't have the levels right on the screen I could see, so they kept pointing at what looked like an entirely empty uterus. They eventually found a healthy baby measuring 7+1. So a day behind my dates but I'm not convinced by the woman scanning, so not worried.

I had to ask for a photo, which they didn't seem that keen on giving me, but here's my little jellybean blob 😀

TheDaydreamBelievers · 12/10/2020 12:38

@mrswilso I'm so sorry and crossing my fingers that they offer a scan and all is good!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 12/10/2020 12:38

@singleandttc how come they scanned you so early?

OP posts:
singleandttc · 12/10/2020 12:42

@TheDaydreamBelievers I'm getting the NIPT through NHS due to my daughter having Down's syndrome. I'm not sure why they wanted to scan quite so early, but they wanted an early scan to officially date the pregnancy, and then they'll book me in for bloods around 10 weeks.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 12/10/2020 12:46

Ah okay @singleandttc sorry to be nosy! Was just curious Smile my scan is 3 weeks tomorrow (12 weeks from LMP but I'm pretty sure I will only be 10 weeks pregnant) and it feels like FOREVER AWAY

ScottishLassie91 · 12/10/2020 13:01

Congrats @singleandttc, thats a great pic!
I have my early scan tonight and such a mixture of nervous and excited! Only thing stopping me from worrying is that I'm still being sick every. single. day lol

Parents and a few others taking bets on if its twins hahaHmm Feels liks its been ages as booked this a month ago!

singleandttc · 12/10/2020 13:02

@TheDaydreamBelievers no it's ok, it all makes very little sense to me, but glad to get the early reassurance. The wait for a scan is just horrendous. Waiting until I was 7 weeks was bad enough.

singleandttc · 12/10/2020 13:06

@ScottishLassie91 haha my mum was convinced I was having twins because I'm so bloated already I look 5 months already. But it's just the one. I'm always terrified before scans. It's great to see a little heartbeat though.

Queenbee95 · 12/10/2020 13:07

Hope all you ladies are well!

@mrswilso I hope EPU get back to you ASAP and are able to put your mind at rest.

My scan is 1 week tomorrow, I’m starting to look forward to it now (have been having awful dreams of miscarriage so I’ve been bricking it) I just hope the next week goes by quickly

ScottishLassie91 · 12/10/2020 13:10

@singleandttc haha! As twins run in our family, its like a standing joke but I honestly wouldn't be surprised either way!
Between husband and I, there's over 30 sets but thankfully I've read that his side doesn't count!!!!

Just hoping I get the same tonight and all is well and healthy x

singleandttc · 12/10/2020 13:37

@ScottishLassie91 30 sets?? Even just counting your side there must be a fairly high chance of at least twins! How exciting. You'll have to let us know after your scan later!

My sister had twins, which made my mum so convinced, but they're identical, so not the kind that run in families.

Welliedays · 12/10/2020 13:44

Twins run in my family too so I'm hoping I'm not having twins!!

ScottishLassie91 · 12/10/2020 13:54

@singleandttc yeah lol! Both his grandparents were twins lol! But my gran and auntie also had twins so definitely in the genes :D

Will be sure to let you all know! x

singleandttc · 12/10/2020 15:06

I'm a bit annoyed. The hospital just phoned me to book me in for the NIPT bloods. I'll be 11+2! It seems awfully late to wait a week extra. I won't be able to relax until that comes back. I potentially won't be able to announce my pregnancy to my family until 13 weeks (because let's face it, the nhs will take the full 2 weeks). I know it's just a week but I'm really hating having to openly lie to my family about why I'm sick, but don't want to tell anyone in case they come back and tell me the baby has edwards or Pataus. I may just pay for the thing to get it at 10 weeks.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 12/10/2020 15:11

I ended up having my midwife booking appt today randomly! She just called out the blue. Just a bunch of questions to be honest then it seems like all the bloods etc get done at the 12 week (10 week) scan .

OP posts:
ladymary86 · 12/10/2020 15:28

@TheDaydreamBelievers how long did your appointment take? Really weird that they just randomly called you!!

I can't believe the huge variations in the methods of care that we are all seeing on here! Some people getting face to face appointments, some video (this is what I have for my booming) some phone calls.

I have no idea when my first blood tests, that would normally be at booking, will be done? I'm finding the lack of communication quite concerning.
They made a mistake with my scan appointment too and if I'd just left it and turned up they wouldn't have seen me!!

All of this on top of already feeling quite hormonal and tearful is not a great combination.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 12/10/2020 15:30

@ladymary86 about 20mins? For me (NHS GGC) basically all the bloods etc that would be done now are being done after the scan
