@MumToBeMaz I'm nhs lanarkshire as well and they've been fine with me. I'm getting my booking appointment on 21st at 12pm. If anything they always phone me early. Last time they were very helpful etc. I saw the same midwife the whole way through.

It was her in April again before my miscarriage and its her again this time.

She got me a trace when she felt the heartbeat was slow and a growth scan at 36 weeks etc.

Also when she phoned yesterday she said she would contact my gp for extra folic acid and I picked up my tablets today.

@ladymary86 I've had such bad skin for weeks now and just got worse again this week all over my chin and jawline 😭

My hormones have definitely taken over tonight, sobbing hysterically after feeling exhausted from feeling unwell everywhere and then started thinking about my early scan on monday and what if somethings wrong and it's my fault for briefly saying jokingly 'this better be worth it lol' with how exhausted and sick I'm feeling 😥😥

barbiemummy20 · 09/10/2020 21:01

So we had our scan and it turns out I am 10 weeks, I am so overwhelmed and delighted that all seemed well the last 4 weeks from 1st scan have been so hard but we seen a wee heart beat and it was an active wee poppet 💕 have flu jag on Monday, booking apt on Tuesday and bloods for Thursday and it all feels so real now 💕 due date is now 7th May 💙

@FTMammaMaz and @MumToBeMaz are you the same poster?

I have one enormous spot right in the end of my nose... you can't miss the damn thing! I never gets spots anymore! 😭
Glad I'm not the only one though!

MumToBeMaz · 09/10/2020 21:53

@mrswilso Thank you for sharing! I’m so sorry that happened. How frustrating, especially at a time where we are feeling quite vulnerable. I will keep an eye on how things go on Monday but I didn’t even know you could request to swap to another area! So I’ve ;earned something here for sure!

@GrandTheftWalrus Thank you! Sounds like they are on top of things for you! I’ll definitely let you all know how I get on and will keep my fingers crossed for a caring team.

@TheDaydreamBelievers Yes! My apologies, I changed all my handles to the same thing and forgot to mention the change when I posted again tonight. Thank you for providing your organised lists. It’s very helpful to see people in the same area.

mrswilso · 09/10/2020 22:07

Aw amazing @barbiemummy20 💕 chuffed for you!
@MumToBeMaz I didn't know either...until a friend posted last week on social media about her midwifery care and after speaking to her more about it, I found out she's swapped from Lanarkshire to another health board too, for pretty much the same reason as me.
I really hope everything works out better for you though - it would have been much easier to stay local and I would have preferred it but I'm a worrier so I couldn't deal with the stress of it all anymore.

rosegoldivy · 10/10/2020 09:19

@mumtobemaz I know mrswilso has had a tough time with the NL midwifes but I've been totally fine. I phoned them and got through when I found out and they took my details and said they would call me back in a few weeks to arrange a booking appointment, and my mw from my last pregnancy phoned me last week to arrange the booking in appointment for this week.

As for sub teams I think it relates to what doctors practise your registered that your midwife is from.
So I'm registered to caladonia so my mw is based in there and she has her clinics on a Tues and weds. And I know diff MW in kennilworth have there clinic days on a Friday etc

@mrswilso could you maybe even try and request a different midwife?

rosegoldivy · 10/10/2020 09:30

@barbiemummy20 so glad your scan went well it makes it all so much more real

slp92 · 10/10/2020 12:10

Morning everyone! Feeling totally exhausted today but I slept for a solid 8-9 hours. Been thinking a lot about my dates recently, and I think I’m about a week behind what I thought I was. I only had sex once last month, and it was much later in the month than my ‘fertile days’. So I must have ovulated late. Going by that date rather than my LMP, I’m only 5 weeks tomorrow and I thought I would be 6. Genuinely feel like time is at an absolute standstill, and even more so now!

Fruitloops34 · 10/10/2020 12:21

Afternoon ladies!

I don’t want to jinx myself but the last few mornings and afternoons I’ve felt quite good, its more at night I start to feel sick but I try to keep biscuits by the bed to combat that. Really really hope I’m turning a corner now. 10+3 today and I’ve booked a cheeky wee private scan for 2.45 today.

Hope everyone has as good a day as possible 😊

Fruitloops34 · 10/10/2020 15:09

Scan went well, measuring exactly 10+3 and the wee heartbeat was perfect. Was so amazing to see “him” moving about.

Welliedays · 10/10/2020 15:18

@slp92 don't get too hung up on the date, when you have your scan it will likely change anyway. Remember ovulation to conception to implantation can vary loads too so you might be as behind as you think. Stick with your LMP date as that's the most accurate until the scan says otherwise

slp92 · 10/10/2020 15:29

@Fruitloops34 aw, so glad you had a great scan!

@Welliedays thanks, I’m trying not to but every day just feels like such a drag at the minute! I need to try and chill out!

Welliedays · 10/10/2020 15:31

@slp92 I know it just drags doesn't it! Do you have a booking appointment yet? I feel that when you start to have dates to work towards it seems to go quicker.. I'm also trying to remember to enjoy these weeks (in between the nausea) but it's so hard!

slp92 · 10/10/2020 15:54

@Welliedays unfortunately not! Had a phone call after I’d submitted my self referral and was told that someone would be in touch at around the 8 week mark. Have you? Yeah, I think it will definitely start to speed up when there are at least milestones to look forward to I think. At the moment I just feel like I’m in limbo a little bit, I don’t want to get too excited or over think anything before I’ve seen that everything is okay at the scan.

slp92 · 10/10/2020 16:11

@Welliedays sorry, I’ve just seen that you will have had yours as you’re ahead of me haha! And you’re tayside too! When did they tell you about your booking appt? I’m hoping they give me enough notice to sort something out at work, although I have already told my boss as I work in healthcare and a little concerned about the current covid situation!

Buffbeag · 10/10/2020 16:24

Afternoon ladies!

@Fruitloops34 so glad you had a great scan!

It's my birthday today and I keep fluctuating between nauseous and ravenous lol. Hoping I can keep some birthday cake down later 🎂

Hope everyone is having a good Saturday x

Welliedays · 10/10/2020 16:38

@slp92 I'm slightly unusual for the as I had a chemical pregnancy the month before I conceived this time and I hadn't been removed from their system so I got my appointment through for the previous one (I never called them so it's totally my fault that I got it through), so when I called to cancel I mentioned I might be in touch soon so she said to do the self referall. She then just called me to book the appointment. I think it was about 2 weeks before. For the first appoitment I got it through the post on the Wednesday for an appointment on the Sunday. If you can't make it then they're fairly accommodating if you need to change I think. Which hospital are you at? I'm just over 11 weeks now so a few weeks ahead, but not majorly!

slp92 · 10/10/2020 18:07

@Buffbeag happiest of birthdays to you!

@Welliedays aw, I’m sorry to hear about your chemical. That’s not so bad then, I’m hoping I’ll hear from them next week. I have no idea, I live near Dundee but registered with a GP in Angus as I’ve only recently moved and not sure I want to faff around changing surgeries at the moment. I’ve been to the Maty unit in arbroath for vitamins, so not sure if they’re my local or Ninewells. What about you?

Welliedays · 10/10/2020 18:17

@slp92 arboath could be your local then, but you'll probably be able to request ninewells anyway without any questions if that was closer. I'm arbroath too, but have to go to ninewells for my scan as they didn't have availability in arbroath as the person doing them there is on holiday the week I need them!!
