Just called to book my first appointment (I moved GPs so I was waiting to be registered in a new one).

Very easy and quick process. I got my first appointment on 11/11 (in person!) and a scan on 13/11. I know it's a month away but I'm very excited 😊

Ill be having this one in Wishaw as well. Had my dd there as well. I'm under Rutherglen maternity centre. But I live just down the road from you in cambuslang.

When are you due? I'm the 18th May at present.

@Buffbeag I had an email Wednesday too with a form after waiting 2 weeks and still haven't heard anything back yet it's a nightmare!

@Buffbeag I saw your post about your scan - amazing news! I booked in a private scan for tomorrow given how little I heard so am equal parts terrified and excited at the moment.

It's poor that you are further along than me and have heard nothing still. Extreme helplessness is not a good feeling to have while pregnant eh

@thedaydreambelivers I will be having baby at forth Valley again (even though I'm technically outwith there catchment area but Al defo be going)

How is everyone tonight, since the new lockdown rules come into play tonight we went out for dinner at the Fort in Glasgow this afternoon and am now lying in bed feeling about 9 months pregnant after 3 courses at Tony macaronis 😂

I'm actually still not officially with any board yet @TheDaydreamBelievers 😬 waiting to hear back from GGC about my GPS referral the other day...I reckon I'll be with the Glasgow gang next week 🤞🏻 I've given up on Lanarkshire and don't want to go with them even if they do get in touch - I still haven't had a call back to rebook the booking appointment that they missed! 😤

@GrandTheftWalrus I'm going to the Royal as far as I know for now. That's assuming GGC take my referral. I had tried to book in under the Airdrie team for Lanarkshire but it seems they couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery so I'm trying to switch now. If I get a knock back from Glasgow (I dunno how likely that is...?) I'll end up going Forth Valley cos I just don't want anything to do with my local team after my first experiences with them.

Anyone else's skin looking like a throw back to their teenage years?? 😭😭😭

@mrswilso I don't think any hospital can knock you back as such. My last mw (at the caladonia docs b4 it all changed) actively tried to talk me out of going to FV but I had already made up my mind. And its (time wise) the closest one to me and you in cumbernauld

@rosegoldivy that's good to know...GP had added that he "obviously couldn't say for certain" that they'd definitely take me on so you've reassured me 😌 I've never been to forth valley but my wee mum works with them as a kind of liaison between discharge patients and social care so I'd be up for going there if I had to ☺️

@mrswilso what's your experience with NHS Lanarkshire? I'm supposed to be having my first call with my midwife on Monday but not holding my breath now.. hahah.

@ladymary86 I'm actually looking clearer than usual...fully expect to be spotty soon though, my sisters face erupted around 8/9 weeks 🤣
My colleague (the mammy of the team - I told her when I told the boss) told me this afternoon that I had "the mask" 🤭 I haven't noticed it myself though...

@MumToBeMaz I've found them to be totally unorganised and to be honest quite uncaring in my few interactions with them. That doesn't necessarily mean that they'll be the same with you though so please don't worry too much.
Basically I called them to book in and got the answerphone, they called back and were so vague and disinterested, initially told me that I'd get a random 45 minute booking call that they couldn't give me a time or date and that I would have my first scan at 16 weeks 😳 I got a txt the next day with a date and time for the call (felt a bit better) - took time off work to take the call, sat and waited, no call. 15 minutes late I txt the midwife that had sent the appointment - no reply. 30 minutes late I called the office to be told that "she's off sick" and "I'll call you back later today to rebook you"...that was Tuesday.
When they hadn't called me back by Tuesday evening, I'd made my mind up and I was done with them so I've asked for a referral from my GP to switch my antenatal care to Greater Glasgow. I've still heard nothing from the Lanarkshire midwives, to be fair I don't know if the GP has maybe already told them I don't want anything to do with them...cos I made it pretty clear to him 😂
Oh and the receptionist at the surgery accidentally slipped that the midwife I was booked with had went off on maternity leave the previous week...not quite "off sick" then 🤔 I didn't like the fact that they'd lied to me about why my appointment had been missed.

@MumToBeMaz I should add that I'm in Cumbernauld and the GP practice is Abronhill - I think it's different sub teams for different areas...not 100% sure though so don't quote me!
