@TheDaydreamBelievers thank you. It was there again when I wiped this morning, doesn’t happen every time. I look another test this morning and the lines are darker so that’s reassuring. I think I’m just going to worry until I hear the heartbeat and/or see a scan!

SugarPlumRoar · 08/10/2020 08:48

Thanks all, I've booked a scan for 10:00 this morning. They've been very honest and said 6 weeks is the earliest they could see a heartbeat and that I may just be a bit too early and if they believe it's because I'm early and not a miscarriage they will get me back in two weeks time.

So I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this scan. I'd rather known one way or another.

I put a pad on last night, whilst no blood has gone onto it I'm still getting it every time I wipe.

I'm so sorry for the others who are also experiencing similar. It's awful not knowing and I hope it works out for the best for everyone

rosegoldivy · 08/10/2020 08:53

Aw ladies I'm sorry that there's a few of you going through a rough time. Hopefully you all get positive news through scans and things to put your mind at rest.

I'm in the office today, so cannot be bothered, we're on minimum staff so it's so boring and it drags in. I went via McDonald's for breakfast to cheer myself up as my tiny human woke me up at 4am and I couldn't get back to sleep 🙄🙄

sunnysideup3 · 08/10/2020 09:02

Wishing all the best to those who are having a stressful time just now.

Every day is so stressful, I keep expecting something to go wrong. Did not expect pregnancy time to be just 24/7 worrying ha. I need to find ways to relax a bit!

PandemicBabyPlz · 08/10/2020 09:26

@SugarPlumRoar I hope you get some relief from the scan and glad you got an appointment. Sending positive thoughts your way!

I’m around 5+6 and more blood through the night, just brown and then pink when I wipe again.

I have such a busy day at work today and I just can’t for the life of me focus. Just want to curl up in bed and comfort eat 😆

GrandTheftWalrus · 08/10/2020 09:30

Morning all.

Midwife called this morning. My booking app will be on 21st over the phone. I'm wondering though if she's going to refer me for my scan just now though as I'll be over 10wks by then.

Also to take higher dose of folic acid due to my weight. But I knew that was coming as my bmi is 31.

Got my private scan on 20th so I'm hoping it's good news and I'll be able to go through the booking app.

Welliedays · 08/10/2020 09:43

Can I join please, I'm 11 weeks today I think. I'm 31 and this is baby no.1. I had a chemical pregnancy just the month before I conceived this one so I was a bit stressed to start with but as times gone on I've got better! I had really bad nausea at the start but it vanished almost over night when I was about 7 weeks and hasn't really come back. I had my booking appointment on 22 September and my scan is in 10 days time. I'm tayside health board

TheDaydreamBelievers · 08/10/2020 09:44

@GrandTheftWalrus it's so odd how different it is everywhere. My booking person literally asked me nothing apart from "first pregnancy?" - nothing about folic, weight, health etc. Seems such a missed opportunity for early prenatal care

Its the same midwife I've had since I was pregnant in 2016. So she knows me lol.

I've also to go over to the maternity center and pick up a pack with books and vitamins etc in it.

rosegoldivy · 08/10/2020 11:24

@sugarplumroar how did your scan go?

Fruitloops34 · 08/10/2020 11:26

@SugarPlumRoar

So hoping everything is okay?

SugarPlumRoar · 08/10/2020 11:31

I've had a scan.

They thought they might be able to see the start of a gestational sack but weren't confident. So I've had the talk about ectopic pregnancy and to look out for pain etc as I've had a positive pregnancy test but they can't see anything in the womb.

I've still got fresh bleeding which they confirmed during the scan.

They've asked me to go back in two weeks time for a rescan to see if anything has changed but I'm honestly not feeling overly hopeful at the moment

They say it could be too early or it could be I've miscarried or its an ectopic pregnancy. I don't think I'm any less than 6 weeks, I know when I ovulated and I know when we had sex and 6 weeks is the absolute minimum I could be as we didn't have sex after I ovulated on the 9th of October.

I've got the rescan on the 26th, I'm telling myself I've lost it at the moment as I can't build myself up and have a big fall at the next scan if they tell me they can't see anything again.

I'm gutted if I'm honest but what will be will be. I'm going to take a step back from posting for a while, I'll let you know how it goes on the 26th. Thank you all for your thoughts

TheDaydreamBelievers · 08/10/2020 11:33

I'm so sorry @SugarPlumRoar. Hoping it's good news on the 26th but totally understand you wanting to step back for a bit

@SugarPlumRoar

I’m so sorry to hear that and I understand you taking a step back.
Please take care of yourself in the meantime and I’m sending lots of positive thoughts that everything will be okay in 2 weeks time.

rosegoldivy · 08/10/2020 11:54

@sugarplumroar I'm so sorry to hear this and it's totally understandable to take a step back from this.

I will be thinking of you in two weeks time and hope you come back with some good news. Take care of yourself xx

ScottishLassie91 · 08/10/2020 12:08

@SugarPlumRoar so sorry to hear this. Keeping everything crossed for you for 2 weeks time and sending virtual hugs xx

Welliedays · 08/10/2020 12:23

@augarplumroar sorry to hear you've not had good news

PandemicBabyPlz · 08/10/2020 13:21

@SugarPlumRoar keeping you in my thoughts and hope the next scan has more answers. Stay safe and rest lots x

slp92 · 08/10/2020 14:28

@SugarPlumRoar so sorry, keeping my fingers crossed for good news in a couple of weeks though!

Has anyone been asked to take a higher dose of folic acid? My BMI is 31 so I’ve been asked to take 5mg. I’m already taking Pregnacare supplements, apparently I can carry on taking both but has anyone else done this?

sakuramiyagi · 08/10/2020 14:37

@slp92 I have the same BMI as you. I've not seen a midwife or GP yet but decided to take the 5mg dose myself having read that those with higher BMI should.

I take 12 400ug folic acid tablets each day, which comes up just under the 5mg total dose.

GrandTheftWalrus · 08/10/2020 14:50

@slp92 I was told today to take the higher amount as my bmi is 31 as well. I've to continue with my pregnacare as well. Midwife said you can't overdose on folic acid. So she was phoning my doctor to get a prescription done for them.

LOG8 · 08/10/2020 15:39

Hi can I join? I just got my bfp and looks like I'm due 19th June. I called the midwife line who booked me in for 23/11 with scan on 10/12. It feels like a long wait before I see anyone. @slp92, they didn't ask me anything other than the date of my last period and if it was my first pregnancy. You might have a more diligent midwife service as no vitamins have been mentioned to me yet in Glasgow.

Welliedays · 08/10/2020 16:14

@log8 I didn't get asked any more than you when I was first in touch with thr midwife. I had thrr weight, height, bmi, vitamin chat at my booking appointment at 8 weeks

HeyDW96 · 08/10/2020 17:07

My midwife phoned me today and she said she is willing to see me face to face, she's asking the mums their preference. So I'm glad I'll get to see her as I don't know when I will again if things get worse!

singleandttc · 08/10/2020 17:07

@SugarPlumRoar I'm so sorry your scan didn't go as well as we'd hoped. Fingers crossed it's just too early. Thinking of you.

I had my scan this afternoon. They found the yolk sac and a baby with a heartbeat measuring 6 weeks 5 days so my dates are spot on. There's also a haematoma that's about 1cm. She didn't seem that worried about it, but said that could be the cause of the bleed. I'll get the nhs to check it out at my scan on monday. I'm cautiously optimistic.
