Just had a call from midwife admin to book my flu jag, got it Monday 12th, must admit for being in the uncertain COVID situation my interaction with midwives has been great not much different from 1st experience except my booking apt is via phone on Tuesday but bloods are in person on Thursday 👌🏻 hope everyone is keeping well, I am finishing for 2 weeks leave on Thursday and it can't come quick enough x

rosegoldivy · 07/10/2020 14:30

Ooohhhh what post had been hidden??? (so nosey)

PandemicBabyPlz · 07/10/2020 14:43

@barbiemummy20 sounds like a good journey for you so far! Which district are you? Sounds well organised!

barbiemummy20 · 07/10/2020 15:07

@PandemicBabyPlz I am with Lanarkshire based in East Kilbride we have a great health centre hub where midwives/health visitors are based we have no maternity hospital though so will be using wishaw for delivery! We used to have an EPU in Hairmyres but I was advised by midwife it would be wishaw now! X

TheDaydreamBelievers · 07/10/2020 15:08

@rosegoldivy didnt see the one on this thread but they posted on another thread I was on implying women who had given birth had looser vaginas (less politely than that). It also wasnt relevant to the thread topic

I saw that too @TheDaydreamBelievers ... charming 🤢 looks like a troll

singleandttc · 07/10/2020 15:28

I got a call back from the EPU. They've just said keep an eye on it and phone them back if i bleed again. They think I'm ok to wait until my scan on Monday. It's going to be a VERY long wait!

singleandttc · 07/10/2020 15:41

Or not.. I may have caved and booked a private scan for tomorrow afternoon...

ladymary86 · 07/10/2020 15:43

@Buffbeag I looked at them too but I've booked somewhere else. They were £5 cheaper for a half hour appointment rather than a 10 minute one and they give you a keepsake box with the pics and usb with the ultrasound video on it.

rosegoldivy · 07/10/2020 16:54

@thedaydreambelivers ohhh how lovely.

@mrswilso did you get through to the mw to rebook your appointment?

I've just had the midwife call me to arrange my booking in appointment for next Tuesday. It was the same midwife I had last time so I'm happy about that as I really liked her

Queenbee95 · 07/10/2020 16:59

Ladies.. so I’m 10+3 weeks now. Since 2:30pm I’ve had a really sore left arm. The pain is IN my veins. It started in my upper arm just above elbow, where I used to have the implant many years ago. It’s a shooting pain from there, down my forearm to my hand. It’s very sore, sometimes feels like pins and needles.
Should I be worried?

Queenbee95 · 07/10/2020 17:01

Might I add, my older sister had DVT’s during her pregnancy in which one travelled to her lung. My other sister had one after pregnancy and now has post thrombotic syndrome

rosegoldivy · 07/10/2020 17:09

@queenbee95 oh I don't know about that, I'm sure someone more knowledgable will be along. All I would say is the standard contact mw/gp/epu?

Fruitloops34 · 07/10/2020 17:18

@Queenbee95

Pregnant women just have so much to worry about don’t they?

SugarPlumRoar · 07/10/2020 22:37

I've had some light cramping and more fresh blood this evening. The bleeding is light but very much red and there were a some tiny bits which looked like tissue.

I'm not going to relax until I know one way or another. I'll be 6 weeks tomorrow and I know chances of detecting a heartbeat is slim but I'm going to see if somewhere in Glasgow can fit me in.

I can't wait around until later next week the not knowing is horrific

PandemicBabyPlz · 07/10/2020 23:02

I’ve just found spotting like blood when I went to the bathroom this evening, and I have like a tiny throbbing pain in my lower right abdomen - it’s like I feel when I’m ovulating. Hopefully not TMI, but I’m just scared now. I took a first response yesterday and it was a great line - darker than the control. Don’t have any left so if I want to test again I’m going to need to buy more. I know it’s common to bleed a little but when you see it for yourself it just takes your breath away for a bit. These first few weeks are so scary. Fingers crossed for us all and comforting thoughts !

Welliedays · 07/10/2020 23:08

@sugarplumraw 3 weetabix a day if you stomach them helps get things moving

slp92 · 08/10/2020 05:55

Hello! I hope I’m okay to join. I’ve just found out I’m expecting at the weekend, so I’m currently 5+3. EDD 7/6/21.

Bit of a surprise but coming to terms with it. I’ve had a miscarriage before, so I’m super nervous and can’t stop googling everything which I need to try and stop! I had zero symptoms last time round though, and miscarried the day before my 12 week scan. This time, I can’t stop burping (I rarely burped before!), my boobs are so sensitive, I’m exhausted and I’m having some twinges in my abdomen. Lovely to meet you all!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 08/10/2020 06:58

@WeeWorrier I had a brownish peach on wiping the day before I tested positive. I thought it was my period then it never came so I tested! Hopw it has stopped for you Smile. Welcome!

@singleandttc let us know how scan goes! Hope all is well

@rosegoldivy our booking appt is same day!

@Queenbee95 I've never heard of that but would definitely want to get that looked at, esp given family history of DVT

@SugarPlumRoar @PandemicBabyPlz I hope the bleeding stops and all is well for you both

@slp92 Hello and congratulations! I'm so sorry for your previous experience. I'm super nervous without having those experiences so I can understand you must be feeling even more so.

Have woken up today with a DODGY tum. No word food so I'm putting it down to "one of these preggo things". Also v damp in the pants generally (lots of discharge). Sorry, such a TMI update!

@rosegoldivy glad you've got a date! I still haven't had a call back from Lanarkshire after they missed my appointment on Monday 😠
I spoke to my GP yesterday though about how anxious the standard of care from the local
midwives is making me feel and he's referred me over to GGC so I'm just waiting for a call from them to book me in now 😌 I'll need to travel a bit further for appointments but I really don't mind.
@SugarPlumRoar I really hope everything's okay for you 💕

slp92 · 08/10/2020 07:26

Thank you! Think we just have to try and think positive, but it’s so hard not to worry. I’m in two minds about booking an early scan or not. Would like the reassurance but think it will only be a matter of time before I’m worrying again!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 08/10/2020 07:32

Same @slp92 - I'm not sure if itll actually make me feel any better! I reckon I'd just move from thinking "what if something is wrong" to "what if something goes wrong before next scan?!"

@barbiemummy20 oh i travelled to window to the womb in hamilton last time. They were absolutely fantastic. We had a bit of a wait as the previous baby wasnt playing ball for the family to find out the gender but it wasnt an issue and our scanner was just lovely, 🤗
