@ScottishLassie91 I don't know if this will make you feel better but...
I've never had a c section but I had tears with both my DC and I can honestly say I didn't feel them happening. The were stitched up and sorted while I was in the very early moments of falling in love with my baby and the midwife checked them at each post natal appointment. My experience was a touch of mild discomfort and there's no trauma of having stitches removed!

ladymary86 · 07/10/2020 07:02

@Buffbeag I'm so glad your scan went well. Which company did you use?
Ours isn't for a while but if I've got my days right, it's one day before I will be 9 weeks

TheDaydreamBelievers · 07/10/2020 07:28

This is very reassuring @ladymary86Smile

@scottishlassie91 I ended up with an emergency section, and I can honestly say it really wasn't that bad at all and the recovery was absolutely fine, was up on my feet 12 hours later and didn't have too much pain or discomfort. I will be pushing for an elective section this time round, though I think due to the age gap with the 2 they will prob recommend a section.

barbiemummy20 · 07/10/2020 08:06

@TheDaydreamBelievers I say it all the time I would rather do labour and birth over pregnancy, I was in and induced 3 times before my labour started and only used gas and air because I was paranoid about having a catheter with an epidural and had a small haemorrhage and couple of stitches but I loved the experience and can't wait to do it again 💕 I didn't have a birth plan and just went with the flow, hoping for the same again 👌🏻

singleandttc · 07/10/2020 08:43

I've woken up to a light pink bleed ☹️. I've got a dating scan on Monday anyway but I might see if they can fit me in earlier. I had a bleed a bit like this with my daughter, but I'm not optimistic. I haven't felt as sick the past two days so that's not helping my anxiety. Oh pregnancy is so stressful!

rosegoldivy · 07/10/2020 08:58

Today is first day I have felt sooo shitty. DD1 was up singing at half 2 and didn't go back down till quart past 3 🙈
Ive got that horrible sicky feeling in my stomach and at the back of my throat and a bit of dry bolking been going on.
TRUST it to be the day I have a video zoom conference. Managed to make myself look half presentable and shoved on a smart top..... And still in my pj bottoms 😂😂 keeping it real hahahaha

ScottishLassie91 · 07/10/2020 09:11

Thats really reassuring to know @ladymary86 and @barbiemummy20! I'm not worrying about the pain of labour itself, its the other stuff with it lol!!

@rosegoldivy I feel you ... 3 layers of makeup and a nice top with my sweatpants on as well haha!!

@singleandttc fingers crossed everythings okay! Can you give your EPU a call? x

singleandttc · 07/10/2020 09:15

@ScottishLassie91 thanks. I've given them a call but got their voicemail. I've left a message so will wait and see what they say. School runs done so I'm going to take it easy today and hope for the best.

sunnysideup3 · 07/10/2020 09:16

It's really good to hear about labour/birth part being okay for those who posted here. I've been terrified of that part since I found I was pregnant. I've been watching a lot of One Born Every Minute, not sure if it helps the anxiety or makes it worse!

rosegoldivy · 07/10/2020 09:20

@singleandttc fingers crossed everything is okay, defo a day of taking it easy.

@sunnysideup3 In my whole life I have watched about 20mins of one episode of one born every min and that what when I was pregnant. Within that 20mins I was emotionally scarred and horrified and vowed to just go with the flow of childbirth and vowed never to watch anything so scary every again 😂😂 ignorance is bliss hahahaha

Fruitloops34 · 07/10/2020 10:14

I’m 10 weeks today and 12 week scan two weeks today.

Woke up this morning and thought “sack that, can’t wait another two weeks”
So I’ve booked another early scan for Saturday afternoon. I’m reasoning with myself that if anything was wrong I’d rather know now than be blindsided in two weeks time( I know it could still go wrong between Saturday and 12 weeks but chances greatly reduced)

SugarPlumRoar · 07/10/2020 10:17

Hi all, been laid up in bed with a chest infection and this morning I've woke to find I've got light bleeding. It started off as brown but its now bright spotting.

My nausea and sore boobs are gone so I'm feeling super anxious.

I've called EPU and they've said I'm too early to be scanned and to keep an eye on it and call back if I start soaking through pads, otherwise to take a pregnancy test in 10-14 days and if negative to call them back.

Fruitloops34 · 07/10/2020 10:24

@SugarPlumRoar

So sorry to hear you aren’t feeling too great. If it makes you feel any better I had a bleed at about 5 weeks that was brown on my underwear but was bright red when I wiped. I called EPU and they wouldn’t scan me.
Went for my early scan at 6+3 and everything was okay.
Try not to think the worst.

Don’t watch OBEM!! They pick ones that make good tv, usually where the partner is a useless arse.
SugarPlumRoar · 07/10/2020 10:33

@Fruitloops34 was the early scan at the EPU? I think I'm about 5+6.

EPU did say it could be implantation bleeding but also that I'm too early to scan

TheDaydreamBelievers · 07/10/2020 10:47

@SugarPlumRoar @singleandttc wishing you both all the best. Some bleeding can be nothing and totally normal and I'm hoping that's the case for you both x

@SugarPlumRoar

Nope, they wouldn’t scan me as I was too early so I paid for one at a private place in Glasgow. ABC4D, they were very good. Was only £60 all in so defo worth it.

That’s where I’ve just booked again to go on Saturday.

I know it might not be handy for your to get to but if you can I think findings a place for an early scan would put your mind at ease. Book one for a weeks times and you shouldn’t be able to see the wee one clearly. I did at 6+3, seen the wee heartbeat and everything.

Buffbeag · 07/10/2020 11:12

@ladymary86 I used abc4d were really good and booked another scan for two weeks time

barbiemummy20 · 07/10/2020 11:31

I used ABC4D in Motherwell and was really disappointed, I had used them for gender and 4d for 1st dd and really rated them but found them different this time! I have booked window to the womb in Hamilton for Friday hoping it will be good x

SugarPlumRoar · 07/10/2020 11:36

@Fruitloops34 I'm very close to the M77 in Kilmarnock so getting to Glasgow isn't an issue, in fact I'm probably in Glasgow more than I'm Kilmarnock.

I'm going to get something booked for Thursday next week that way I should be 7 weeks. I just want a bit of reassurance, this pregnancy is already turning out to be far more stressful than my 1st

ScottishLassie91 · 07/10/2020 12:41

@SugarPlumRoar fingers crossed everything is okay for you

ScottishLassie91 · 07/10/2020 12:48

Also this may seem like a weird one but a photographer I've used a few times in Paisley is running an amazing deal, which, all going well, I'm going to book after my 12week scan. Just incase it interests anyone else, full cost is £95 for everything below! :)

Maternity session + 10x8 Print
3D scan + CD of scan images + cuddly bear with baby's heartbeat
Newborn Art session (3-4 hours) + 10x8 Print
3D Cast of your baby's foot
6 Month Sitter session + 10x8 print
1st birthday cake smash session + 10x8 print

WeeWorrier · 07/10/2020 14:05

Hello,

I’m 29 from West Lothian. FTM only 4+3 weeks.

I have a private early scan booked for 19th October just to give me reassurance.

First Midwife appointment is 3rd November, First NHS scan 1st December.

Anyone else had very light pink/peach colour when they wipe? Trying not to be too worried about it but not sure if it could still be classed as implantation or not
