Hi all the preggos!
Just wanted to jump in and say hi. Not on here super often but thought I’d say hello!
Preg with my 2nd :) daughter is almost 4. Unfortunately suffered a mc in Dec so feeling so much more nervous this time round! I’m also bloody geriatric haha (I’m 39). Any other oldies on here?

Hope everyone feels better soon! (Including me haha!)

Miscarriagesucks2020 · 12/10/2020 11:07

Hi all, congrats to you all!

I'm about 7-8 weeks pregnant and due at the very end of May.

I'm just wondering if there's a FB group arranged yet? I found it so useful last time, and you get to meet people a bit more!

thank you

ScottishStardust · 12/10/2020 11:27

@UnicornAndSparkles ... that's amazing! I hope you don't let him live that down and ensure you share the story!!!

Bea11 · 12/10/2020 11:57

@UnicornAndSparkles that made me properly chuckle!!! 😂
@Leighpenguin welcome to the group. I'm sure there's a few of us on here that are ancient! I'm 42 and currently pregnant with my 3rd, although only have one at home as my 2nd sadly died. I also have had miscarriages last year, so understand the extra nerves you're feeling. Let's hope it's good news this time round for us both 🤞

ScottishLassie91 · 12/10/2020 13:06

@NRDoss thankyou! Seems a bit better now!

Oh how exciting with your scan, that must have been amazing :)
Have mine tonight and im so nervous and excited!

Gingergeek89 · 12/10/2020 13:32

@ScottishLassie91 good luck with the scan tonight

@UnicornAndSparkles bless him. Good thing it doesn’t come up as 3+

Another weird dream update if people want a chuckle. Dreamt I was driving to the garage and slowly bits of my car disappeared until I was left with a bicycle. Then the pedals became too far away and I wiped out like 10 other cyclists (no idea why there were so many around). Luckily for everyone I don’t own a bike

Oh whoops my reply went to the wrong place! Was meant to be for @Bea11!

Bea11 · 12/10/2020 17:00

@Leighpenguin

That is just heartbreaking. I’m so sorry to hear that :( Hope nature has better things in store for us!
I've got everything crossed for us and everyone on here that is pregnant after a loss. We need some good luck! xx
NRDoss · 12/10/2020 18:45

@UnicornAndSparkles @Gingergeek89 - these updates really made me chuckle after a long day really :)

@Miscarriagesucks2020 - I think you can message @ShalomToYouJackie for FB group, there is a fb group that is active, if I'm right. Also Welcome :)

sorry to hear about your losses @Bea11 and @Leighpenguin - I hope things go very well for you this time.

@ScottishLassie91 - good luck with your scan! Keep us posted Smile

ScottishLassie91 · 12/10/2020 20:46

Had our scan tonight and we have one little blob measuring between 7 and 8 weeks with a nice heartbeat flickering away 🥰
A bit nervy when they took a few seconds to find it but apparently my fruit cravings have left me with a very gassy stomach 😂 so very relieved all is okay xx

Gingergeek89 · 12/10/2020 21:06

@ScottishLassie91 congratulations! Xx

Yay @ScottishLassie91 that's amazing news!! Must feel ace :)
Congrats to al the other bfps who have just joined!
I ve just woken up and feel terrible....the sorest boobs ever have just vanished overnight:( in the night realised it didn't hurt to lie on front and just went for a wee and was like nope.
This is bad right?9+1
Feeling panicked and sick with worry, what can I do???

Gingergeek89 · 13/10/2020 06:22

@leftitlate37 sorry to hear that you are worried. My boob pain in pretty much disappeared at between 7 and 8 weeks after being agonising and only now (between 11 and 12) is coming back here and there but no where near as bad. Do you mind me asking what happened when you went to the loo? X

OP posts:
leftitlate37 · 13/10/2020 06:30

Thanks @Gingergeek89, feel a bit reassured by this. Sorry should have said...I just needed a wee and all was normal no blood etc. Ugh just feeling sick with worry and googling everything obviously. U find posts that give u some hope and then others where u r like, yes its a bad sign, ill just be one of the unlucky stats. Argh I dont get how last night sore and today really not. Think worried as haven't had bad symptoms otherwise so far so sore boobs felt like a saving grace.
R u OK? Up early too?!

Gingergeek89 · 13/10/2020 06:43

@leftitlate37 glad to hear all was normal. I’ve found the symptoms have fluctuated a lot over the last few weeks and given all your hormones levels are changing definitely makes sense. Natural to worry though and google definitely doesn’t help. Had a good early scan just as my boob pain first disappeared (and it was very sudden too) and apparently people often have boob pain settle quite early on. The pain is caused by milk ducts growing in response to the hormone and this stretches out the existing tissue, hence the mad pain. I went up a cup size by 6 weeks 🤣 that can’t last forever at the same rate or we would all topple over!

I’m okay, very light sleeper at the moment. 12 week scan in two days and have started to show a little in the last week which I wasn’t expecting just yet as this is my first. Getting some weird stretching pains, which given the uterus is pushing against my abdominal muscles makes sense. DH’s alarm goes off early for work and don’t sleep through it at the moment. Worst thing is I don’t need to work until this afternoon so may see if I can get back to sleep x

OP posts:
leftitlate37 · 13/10/2020 06:52

Ah I hope u do get back to sleep! Must be hard when diff hours but u still wake up with DHs alarm.
So exciting your scan in 2 days :) can't wait to hear! Will u then tell ppl do u think?
Thanks so much for reassurance, glad for u u got that early scan and gave some reassurance for u! Also helps me :) had been planning early scan but then decided to hold out and now away for a week so cant even book one, altho saying that if I'm really worried ill be jumping in the car and driving home in a flash.
Ha I had already bought new sports bra as normal ones were so tight.as u say tho yep, they cant just keep growing.
Well unless I book an early appt its gonna be a long 3 and a bit weeks to wait for scan...having just seen that written down i don't think I can wait that long!!

Leighpenguin · 13/10/2020 06:55

@leftitlate37 I remember that happened to me when I was pregnant with my daughter except it was the nausea that disappeared. It was sooooo bad for so long then one day poof! Gone! I was so worried that I went to go get a private scan at the scanning rooms. It’s great that private scans are available. I got an early one last week!

Not sure if that’s possible round where you are?

Something which I don’t know will either help or not sorry! But even after I had my miscarriage I still had preggo symptoms for a little while afterwards. Because the contents were still inside until they passed and they release hormones. So even when the worst happens the symptoms don’t just disappear. I had sore boobs and nausea for a good few weeks.

That was just my own personal experience. (Been pregnant twice once with daughter which I mentioned first then an unsuccessful one... hope that makes sense!)

I hope that was helpful if not I am sorry! Just wanted to share my experience in case it could help someone x

Waitingforbabypage · 13/10/2020 06:58

Morning all, can I jump on here too? I'm approx 9+2 and feel dreadful. The nausea is real my friends! Seems I need to snack almost constantly to keep it at bay.
I had super sore boobs last week. Now only a little tender.
My jeans are a little snug across my tummy, I'm presuming with this being my 3rd, I might pop a little earlier?
Has anyone told their families yet? We were hoping to wait for the scan, but I'm too excited!

Leighpenguin · 13/10/2020 07:01

@leftitlate37 oh and I forgot to say.... unless you start bleeding don’t worry! Its hard not knowing exactly what’s going on in your body. But if all is well there is no bleeding.

That being said, I have had a few friends that bled during pregnancy and it was all fine!! So it doesn’t always mean the worst!

I’m super nervous this time round but l just keep telling myself that as long as I’m not bleeding I’m okay! Sorry so grim!!

Gingergeek89 · 13/10/2020 07:11

@leftitlate37 either way definitely a duvet morning for me! I know it’s so hard not being able to see what’s going on all the time! Going to wait until the non invasive screening results coming back to tell extended family and friends I think. Decided to tell my clients yesterday since I’ve had a resurgence of morning sickness and worried I will need more time off. Plus with the scan on Thursday, even if somehow it is bad news though no reason to think it will be, I’ll need to take time off so they would know anyway. We told immediate family (parents and sisters) when we first found out and also told one close friend of mine from uni at around 8 weeks just to have a support system around me. Plus he is a doctor to quite good to help reassure. When are you thinking of telling people?

Congratulations to all the new people joining the thread!

@Leighpenguin sorry to read about your previous experience I hope that this all goes well for you!

Hi @Leighpenguin, thanks so much for lovely message. So very sorry to hear about your MC in dec, can't imagine your nerves now but keeping everything crossed for you! im getting on for being oldie then, if u think 39 is oldie ;) 37 here!
that must have been so hard for you, esp when we can still get those pregnancy symptoms:(
i could get a private scan, just away in the UK at the mo and checked and theres nothing around here, so guess wil wait til am home.i'd have booked one already today if i'd been at home!! have you told, or when will you tell your daughter?!
@Gingergeek89 sounds like a good plan re telling people. and nice you have a good friend who is also a doc so good for advice/support etc :)
weve only told both sets of parents - see them rarely now with covid so took our chances when we met up with them. feel even worse now cos they are so excited and be gutted to have to tell them any bad news. anyhoo we shall see!
waiting for it to become daylight as im right grump when its dark and feel like everythings just worse! sorry for being such a downer today!
enjoy your duvet morning :)

Semele5069 · 13/10/2020 07:33

@leftitlate37 I'm 10 weeks and I've kept worrying about my boobs not being sore, but now I can see there's a pattern where they sometimes feel fine in the morning but then get more sore again throughout the day and are worse at night. Try not to worry, it seems so normal for symptoms to fluctuate.

Waitingforbabypage · 13/10/2020 07:33

@Leighpenguin I'm the same, every trip to the loo I'm hoping not to see blood, even worse if I'm cramping a bit. I just have to remind myself that it's just growing pains.

@Gingergeek89 I've had to tell my manager and team leaders at work purely because I work in retail and with our xmas display change over, they usually expect me to be up the ladder doing the higher up stuff and I wasn't comfortable doing that (been having some vertigo) I feel terrible having them know but not my own mum.
But like you, if anything goes wrong, I'm going to need them to be understanding anyway.

leftitlate37 · 13/10/2020 07:40

thanks @Semele5069 - good point, i'll have to hope these symptoms come back but will then see if they fluctuate during the day. im sure mine have been worse in the morning normally but anyway will see. hope you are doing ok anyway.
