Just wanted to speak with someone who's just found out their expecting too?

Feeling very anxious due to previously having misscarriages

yes I'm only feeling sick when I'm hungry, which is every two hours at the moment

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 14/10/2020 18:54

Hi all thanks for all your messages, I have hyperemesis and couldnt keep anything down at all, just vomiting bile so went in yesterday morning. They kept me in and I was discharged this morning. They think it will happen again so I've got to keep testing my wee for ketones to see how bad I am. Off sick from work and it comes up as 'pregnancy related' so now they all know! So hard keeping it from my 10yo, was just lucky he was at his dads yesterday already.
Feel pants still and vomited after the school run again. This is rubbish. Should settle in a few weeks but a few weeks is SUCH a long time!!

mouldygrapes · 15/10/2020 14:52

Bless you @SweetpeaOrMarigold. Glad you’re home and hopefully it stays under control.

We told our parents on Sunday after the scan and will probably tell my sister today as we’re meeting for a last hurrah dinner before London goes into tier 2 on Saturday

lucymagoo · 15/10/2020 15:09

Hope you feel better soon! Not long left of this first trimester and hopefully will ease for you a bit. @mouldygrapes we told my in laws yesterday and they were absolutely over the moon. Tears all round, a really lovely moment

bloomety · 16/10/2020 17:20

I’ve just had my booking in appointment today. My MW has said that I need to take 150mg of aspirin as I’m 40. Has anyone else been told this?

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 16/10/2020 17:58

@bloomety my obstetrician said I could use it if I wanted as evidence varies, I'm nearly 39.

bloomety · 16/10/2020 19:36

I ended up ringing her and she said at 40 the risk of preeclampsia and stillbirth was increased and aspirin prevent it, so I’ll be taking it.

CharlieD2020 · 16/10/2020 21:01

Hi ladies and sorry I've been AWOL.

MW has told me to take 150mg of Aspirin from 12 weeks to 36 weeks, I'm 28 but I have a strong family history of pre-eclampsia (my mum had it with me, and my twin sister had it with my nephew too). My sister thinks the advice is to take aspirin earlier than 12 weeks though so has suggested I check again with MW. When have they told you to start taking it @bloomety and @SweetpeaOrMarigold?

bloomety · 17/10/2020 08:20

She’s told me to take it before 12 weeks. I think it’s because it’s to take effect before the placenta develops.

mouldygrapes · 17/10/2020 18:40

How is everyone doing? I’m feeling really low today. 3rd weekend in a row where all I want to do is lie in bed. Nausea is still very up and down, but gone off a lot of foods and cooking (which I enjoy normally). I know it will get better but I’m having a bit of a wallow today

Catisa · 17/10/2020 19:17

Hello ladies! It makes a while I don't comment, I stopped getting the notification messages and didn't realise there was still conversation going on. I few days ago I got up to date reading, happy to see all your cute scan pics!
I am very sorry for the ones who have nausea, I did feel a bit weird a few times but now actually it went away completely. Hold on there @mouldygrapes!
I did have a small scare this week, I had a bit of bleeding and passed a blood clot in the morning, phoned the early pregnancy unit and since I had already had some spotting for a while they asked me to come and look it up. All was fine and we were able to see our baby with tiny heart beating! Apparently I am 3 days further ahead, so my due date now is 22/05! 9 weeks today
For the rest all is good, I can't wait for the time to pass and get the 12 weeks scan! It feels like it goes so slow

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 17/10/2020 22:12

@Catisa you must have been terrified 😯 glad all is ok though.

Catisa · 17/10/2020 22:49

@SweetpeaOrMarigold thank you, yes I was scared, I can't wait for the weeks to pass and be more reasured that all is going to be fine.
How are you feeling yourself? Is the sickness getting any better?

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 17/10/2020 23:24

It was yes but I've been sick before and after tea tonight, lost weight again and sat here shivering like a pathetic skinny little dog. Honestly it's all worth it in the end but I hate the vomiting so much. Should dip my wee tonight to see if I need admitting but I'm just too tired for the effort. Going to sleep and hoping for a better day tomorrow. 9+4 now.

Catisa · 18/10/2020 00:06

Oh poor you! It must be awful... I feel really sorry for you. I hope it goes away soon! If it is any consolation I read somewhere that it is an indication that everything is going well because the nausea is caused by high levels of HCG.
Tomorrow is another day, have a good night

mouldygrapes · 18/10/2020 14:57

Gosh what a scare @Catisa, glad you were able to get a scan and all is well.

How’s it today @SweetpeaOrMarigold? Hopefully a little better

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 18/10/2020 16:37

Thanks @mouldygrapes but no. Still vomiting and lost another lb. Would have loved this weight loss any other time! Will message gp again tomorrow about another medication because I'm taking them all properly and it's getting worse still.
Work are being good thankfully and covering my shifts with no pressure

Catherinettc · 19/10/2020 10:39

Hey guys how u all holding up?

I'm starting to feel better thank god. 9 +5 today xx

lucymagoo · 19/10/2020 10:51

Glad to hear you're feeling better @Catherinettc and sorry to hear you're not @SweetpeaOrMarigold Sad
Not long until 12 weeks for most of us now I'm sure!
I've definitely been feeling better mostly but was so bloated with stomach cramps after dinner last night that I didn't sleep a wink, possibly an hour or so around 2am. Hurry up 12 weeks!

RustyCat · 19/10/2020 10:54

I felt rough Friday, called in sick to work as I couldn't keep water down for longer than a few seconds. Feel much better today thankfully, bit iffy this morning so I'm currently eating wotsits as they aren't making my stomach flip 🤣.

My nausea is no where near as bad as some people's thank goodness it mostly comes and goes when I'm hungry or tired. I cannot wait for my 12wk scan, so excited to see baby and check everything is okay!

mouldygrapes · 19/10/2020 14:22

I’m only managing half days at work at the moment, although it’s giving me hope that it seems to be getting a bit better for some of you!
Nearing the 9.5 week mark

Hope you’re hanging in there @SweetpeaOrMarigold

Trousersareoverrated · 20/10/2020 07:53

Sorry to those of you who are feeling rough! I was phoned by a midwife yesterday and did the booking appointment over the phone. Scan date will come through the post soon. We declined the Edwards/downs tests- what are others doing?

RustyCat · 20/10/2020 08:19

@trousersareoverrated we have opted for all 3 tests at my 12wk scan, we felt it's worth while doing.

CMAYF11 · 20/10/2020 08:30

Im having all the tests offered. Better safe than sorry.

Bea11 · 20/10/2020 08:44

@Trousersareoverrated we declined the screening tests too. Wouldn't be opting for any further diagnostic testing and so there seems little point in having the initial screening. I'm 42 and so would likely come up higher risk anyway!
Can completely understand why people opt for the screening though and think you just have to go with what feels right for you.
Our second baby was diagnosed with T13/Patau's Syndrome at the 20 week scan and so I guess having had that experience also hugely factors into our decision making.
