Best of luck @mouldygrapes! They'll probably do an internal one which means you don't need a full bladder. Let us know how it goes Daffodil

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 11/10/2020 11:39

Mine was internal @mouldygrapes so empty bladder is best! That was 8+2.

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 11/10/2020 11:42

@bloomety

I know I was thinking about it today and covid affects the lungs worse, as far as I know. Babies don’t breathe through their lungs until they’re born, so you’d think there would be no risk to an unborn baby. I’m just guessing though, I don’t know. I’ve had a col for about a week and today I couldn’t taste some cheese and onion crisps. DH said he could smell them from the other side of the car they were so strong. So I got myself a test. Waiting for the results now.
The babies that have had covid from mum whilst inutero have had lots of different symptoms including rashes, temperature, generally unwell and needing intensive care. It's a systematic inflammatory process rather than lungs specifically, so we all need to be careful and look after ourselves and the little people.
mouldygrapes · 11/10/2020 11:45

Thank you both, it was internal in the end, just as well!
I was amazed at the detail - I didn’t think we’d be able to see much but the little one was jiggling around in there, good heartbeat and everything looking in the right place. Measuring 8+2 which is more in keeping with ovulation date than LMP.
Such a relief! I think I held my breath for the first minute until she said “heartbeat”

lucymagoo · 11/10/2020 11:53

Congrats @mouldygrapes! Such great news Smile

mouldygrapes · 11/10/2020 12:02

Thanks @lucymagoo - so we’re really close together right, I think you said you were 8+2 a couple of days ago?

Babygornall21 · 11/10/2020 12:13

I got a BFP exactly two weeks after my missed period, had taken tests before then and all were negative.
Feeling really nauseous and exhausted atm I think I’m roughly 7weeks +2

lucymagoo · 11/10/2020 12:31

@mouldygrapes I'm 8 weeks today from LMP but was measuring 4 days ahead on Friday Smile

Babygornall21 · 11/10/2020 13:32

I have my booking appointment over the phone tomorrow, hoping I’ll get a scan date soon I’m wanting to know how far I am for definite! Can’t wait to get through 1st trimester Grin

mouldygrapes · 11/10/2020 14:10

Congratulations @Babygornall21. Good luck with your appt, hopefully you’ll get a scan date soon.
My booking isn’t until the end of the month when I’ll be over 10 weeks, but apparently that’s how they do it in this Trust. NHS Scan is at just over 12 weeks

RustyCat · 11/10/2020 15:31

@mouldygrapes congratulations! How exciting!

I have my booking appointment tomorrow, it's actually in person which I am shocked about 😯! I need to remember to bring a sample of first morning urine with me too.

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 11/10/2020 17:24

My booking is Tuesday when I will be 9 exactly. It's at work and I'm on a shift so pretty much expecting the cat to be out of the bag. Waiting to see who I'm working with and will give the clinic a call and ask whether they can give me an idea of waiting times

bloomety · 11/10/2020 18:22

@SweetpeaOrMarigold thanks for confirming. I didn’t know. I was just guessing.

Congrats @mouldygrapes! I’m 8+1

Trousersareoverrated · 11/10/2020 18:26

@SweetpeaOrMarigold where did you get that information about Covid? Could you link to it? Very worrying if from a reputable source. All the peer reviewed papers I’ve read and the advice from the NHS is that Covid is unlikely to pass from mother to child and does not cause serious illness in newborns.

bloomety · 11/10/2020 18:52

@RustyCat oh good luck! Mine is on Friday. I can’t wait. It’ll seem so much more real then. I’ve had to lie to my mum though Sad and say I have a doctors appointment so she’ll have my DS2. I can’t wait til we’ve got screening results back and 12 week scan, then we’ll tell her.

RustyCat · 11/10/2020 19:04

@bloomety oh how exciting! it's feeling like it's getting real too as I didn't make it to my booking appointment earlier this year, so it feels like it's getting very real. But tell me about it it will be easier to be more truthful and not telling porkies.

I can't wait to tell people too so I'm being less deceitful 🤣. I booked holiday off work as it would be a bit suspect if I needed X amount of hours off tomorrow and then X amount again 3 weeks later. So I've booked both off as holiday.

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 11/10/2020 20:31

@Trousersareoverrated it's so difficult isn't it because it's such a new virus variant, such little information yet. Seems it works similar to any other congenital virus, so for example I've seen plenty of babies born to mums with chicken pox who are fine, but I've also seen one with multi-organ life changing effects. Same with CMV, HSV syphilis etc. Heres a few interesting bits and case studies with those that have been affected, although most seem to be fine I would rather stick on the safe side.

RustyCat · 12/10/2020 14:36

Just back home from my booking appointment, got lots of goodies 🤣. It was actually not too bad bar the barrage of millions of questions about my family and DH's.

bloomety · 12/10/2020 14:44

Oh how exciting! Did you get your folder @RustyCat? My MW said she'd take all the details from my preganncy with my son in 2017 so I'm not having to go through it again.

RustyCat · 12/10/2020 15:25

Yeah got my folder 😁 that's going to have to be attached to me like a bl and chain. I had to book for a blood test as they can't just send me round like they used to because of covid so it's appointment only now annoyingly.

Oh wow that is handy! Means your appointment will be nice and quick too!

lucymagoo · 12/10/2020 15:52

Just got my folder and had my blood test, they took so much blood I was a little freaked out 😂😭
Also got the all clear for our holiday in February, was concerned about flying and Zika risk etc but all good Grin

bloomety · 12/10/2020 15:58

@RustyCat I know I’m hoping it will be a lot quicker as I’ve said to my mum I have a doctors appointment and asked her to watch DS2. I hate lying to her. I’ve booked my screen test for 3rd November so hopefully we’ll have results by the end of that week and then we can tell her, woohoo!! She’s going to cry, I know it!

That’s good @lucymagoo where are you going?

@lenny12345 did you say you were ok progesterone as well? When are you stopping it?

lucymagoo · 12/10/2020 16:11

@bloomety Barbados if all is good with corona then, it's the end of my 2nd trimester so good timing considering we booked it before we knew!

RustyCat · 12/10/2020 18:01

@lucymagoo I have mine tomorrow morning, they couldn't do my blood test today as they aren't doing walk ins at the moment only booked appointments.

@bloomety

Last time I had blood drawn they took alot too, multiple tests I suppose.

@bloomety oh bless you! I'm sure it will be fairly quick, if not I'm sure the traffic was dreadful.. -wink wink-.

CMAYF11 · 12/10/2020 18:10

I’m currently 9+ 2. Is anyone else absolutely shattered? A nap is now a regular part of my post work routine 😔 not like me at all. I’m usually very active
