In honour of our third trimester I thought we should start a new thread!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

@Sophie2309 I have been working from home as I am a teacher and have an incredibly accommodating school. They have been amazing. This is my second baby and I feel like it has flown compared to the first. Although I am knackered now running around after the toddler run my days off. Thank god for nursery!! I am just dying to have her here now too. I was so freaked by the labour last time I didnt really think of having a newborn but this time I am focused more on bringing her home. I am almost looking forward to the labour despite my last one being pretty difficult. Also, I just want to sleep on my front again!!

Oh that's good then! I worked with children so people think I'm mad wanting my own now lol. I'm the same, just want her home, hoping not to be in the hospital too long. Being first baby I have no previous experience of labour, but I'm dreading the monthly's coming back more than the pain of labour aha! I have PCOS so they are quite bad, last a week and make me feel so ill so yh dreading those more than labour. I'll probably change my mind when the time comes though lol! I'm just hoping that my local hospital doesn't change the rules before I go into labour. Currently allowed one birthing partner for the whole of labour, it was from 4cm dilated only in August so I'm hoping they don't go back to that as I don't want to be on my own!

Parentinfo · 29/09/2020 09:31

@Iona1985 That's so good to know..we are due date buddies ✨ How has been your experience at Kingston Hospital ?
Are they quick with consultant referrals ? Just a bit concerned having to move hospitals so late ! Have applied for a transfer to Kingston due to relocation and waiting for my 1st appointment there

MoreGinPlease2020 · 29/09/2020 12:12

@Sophie2309 I'm due on the 1st as well! Getting quite a lot of stabby pains now so am starting to have had enough 😂

biscuit13 · 29/09/2020 13:05

Hey I've been watching the group for a while :) im due on the 4th november.
At my midwife appointment last week so said baby was 1/5 engaged, which i know isn't much but im so excited that baby is getting ready.
When is everyone putting the bedside cot up in their bedroom etc?
At the moment everything is just sitting in the babys room waiting.

Sophie2309 · 29/09/2020 16:42

@MoreGinPlease2020 due date buddies then aha!! I feel exactly the same. Walk too much, sharp pains in down below area and bottom of belly I get a lot of pressure. Getting up from laying down is a full blown military operation pmsl. The constant movements from baby girl kicking at everything makes me feel sick after a while too and omg the achy ribs aha!! I just want to get to 37 weeks so I can try have a water birth as planned but once I get to that 37 week mark this baby is being given an eviction notice and I'll be encouraging her to come out lol. I have arthritis in my spine so the weight of her (weighed 5lb 14oz at scan yesterday) is really taking it's toll on me now and making everything quite difficult. All be worth it in the end though, not long for us now!!!

MoreGinPlease2020 · 29/09/2020 17:31

@Sophie2309 Sorry to hear you're starting to ache. I too alternate between lightning crotch pains and pain at the side/bottom of the bump, especially if I'm out and about. I'm currently sleeping on a mattress on the floor as we've recently moved and haven't got all our furniture yet. Oddly it's helped the hip pain but isn't doing my back any favours. Having had a serious chat with my little one to tell her she's not allowed to come early whilst I was redecorating, I certainly don't want her holding on until 42 weeks!!

@MoreGinPlease2020 I've noticed more hip pain since I've started sleeping on my side all the time. I'm naturally a back sleeper so getting used to sleeping on my side wasn't easy, but it's now affecting my hip from the pressure of sleeping on it but not got long now so it's not too bad aha. And I totally get that, I've done the same as said to my little one to stay put till 37 weeks as I know she's got an extremely good chance of not needing any help, but also get out sooner rather than later as it's becoming a bit much now aha! Don't think I'd last to 42 weeks, I'd get so uncomfy I think I'd be bugging midwife/hospital to induce me because of my back issues. Hoping all goes straight forward though, she's healthy and I can have my water birth aha. Fingers crossed your little one stays put till the decorating is done and then makes the appearance aha.

How is everyone doing? I had my 32 week midwife appt today and was overjoyed to be told DH can come to my scan and consultant appt on Friday and birth partners are now allowed on wards after birth. I am due 25th but having a section on the 18th so 7 weeks to go. DH can stay 9-9 until I go home which I am so delighted about.

Just thought I'd share, hopefully others are in a similar position. I am at Frimley.

I hope the preemies on the thread are all doing well.

MySafeSpace · 30/09/2020 17:32

@FilthyforFirth that's brilliant news. I have my appt tomorrow so hoping to have the same good news as you altho I've nothing planned to have it early so due date is still 25th Nov. Just hoping husband can be there with me otherwise I'll be staying at home for as long as possible with the possibility of getting out of hospital as soon as possible.

MillieFTM · 30/09/2020 19:25

34 weeks today and baby is still breech 🙄 currently on all fours trying anything suggested to turn baby! Would really prefer not to have a CS so hoping she behaves and turns in the next 2 weeks !

Anyone else had a breech baby at this stage before?

FilthyforFirth · 30/09/2020 21:47

Thanks @mysafespace. Fingers crossed you get good news tomorrow too. Our next review is Nov 1st so I know DH can at least come to remaining scans and appts.

You probably dont want to hear from me @millieftm, DS turned breach and stayed that way unfortunately. My c section was very good though, I was driving less than 4 weeks later and in general recovered really well. I hope she turns though!

BeMorePacific · 30/09/2020 23:04

@MillieFTM spinning babies has a tip of putting frozen peas at the top of your bump (where babies head is) and a hot water bottle at the bottom, and the baby will squirm away from the cold peas. It might be worth a try, as it isn’t harmful and is easy to do 🤞🏼
@biscuit13 I’m due the 3rd, it’s getting so close now isn’t it!! Bedside cot I don’t think I’ll put up until baby is here. Or if I get tempted it will be a lot closer to due date. x

Happymama24 · 01/10/2020 00:12

I'm finishing work this weekend. Planning to shop and pack my hospital bag next week? Has everyone packed already?

HarrietM87 · 01/10/2020 07:42

Ah I thought this thread had disappeared! I’m 35 weeks tomorrow, due date is 6 November.

Re positioning, my midwife wasn’t totally sure what position my baby was in at my 32 week appointment, but she said they don’t think it’s important until 36 weeks? I think mine is head down but she was transverse the other day - I woke up on Saturday and my bump was a totally weird shape! And then I felt like my insides were being turned inside out when she moved back again.

I’m still wfh full time, plan is to go to 39 weeks but will see how I feel. DS was 2 weeks late so expecting similar this time. Feel massive now so it’s strange to think I have 5-7 weeks left.

wannabebump · 01/10/2020 07:42

@Happymama24 I haven't packed yet. I have my list ready but I still need to buy some bits too! That's my plan for this weekend x

HarrietM87 · 01/10/2020 07:44

Oh and have bought stuff for my hospital bag (maternity pads and newborn nappies etc) but haven’t packed it. Planning homebirth but should still have a bag ready. And haven’t got any of the baby stuff down from the loft yet...should probs do that soonish.

FudgeFlies · 01/10/2020 08:24

Time is flying so fast! We can now say we’re having our babies NEXT MONTH! x

MrsR87 · 01/10/2020 09:07

I’m 34 weeks today! 😍

Can’t believe we are due to give birth next month.

I can’t believe how ‘stretched’ I fee across the whole of my torso. Also, does anyone else get an aching pain above their bump, in the ‘thinner’ bit before your chest? I think it’s because I’m working from home now and so am sat down for much of the day!

wannabebump · 01/10/2020 11:01

@MrsR87 I said the same thing this morning about it being next month! Which is mostly amazing but also slightly scary! X

SqidgeBum · 01/10/2020 12:03

I am actually thinking it could be this month for me as I am the 2nd of November, which is really exciting. I was terrified last time around. This time I am looking forward to things a lot more and feel a lot more relaxed, even when it comes to the labour (no idea why to be honest). I cant wait for her to be here!

FilthyforFirth · 01/10/2020 15:34

I'm jealous of all you ladies due at the start of the month! Still struggling with HG here, alongside all the end of pregnancy symptoms, so feeling super fed up and very ready for him to be here.

Not packed my bag or his yet. A job for next week when I'm 33 weeks I think. I still need to get some massive knickers, a front opening nightie etc. Need to dig out my list from last time!

Bluebell2020 · 01/10/2020 16:32

@filthyforfirth I'm jealous too! I'm not due until 27th Nov 😩

SqidgeBum · 01/10/2020 18:03

When you said a front opening nightie @FilthyforFirth you just made me realise I have no idea how to breastfeed in pjs. I have two nighties in my bag, one of which I plan on giving birth in (if I dont just go naked) but for after, when I am feeding, what do people recommend for ease of access? I didnt BF last time, so I havent thought of it

HarrietM87 · 01/10/2020 20:00

I was going to ask if you’d seen any nice ones @FilthyforFirth!

@SquidgeBum I had button down ones last time (pjs and a nightie) and also just normal top ones that I pulled up, but my son was born April 18 and that summer was so hot there was no problem with temperature! It will be much colder with this one so I was planning on wearing a feeding vest/Henley type vest under button down pjs, so I can get one boob out without exposing my tummy.

I didn’t leak but it’s very common, especially at the start, so you’ll probably also want to wear a bra at night too.
