In honour of our third trimester I thought we should start a new thread!

I’m now working from home. Had a growth scan last week and then appointment with a consultant. Baby is growing fine but once the doc found out my job he was like right well you definitely shouldn’t be in school with that amount of pupils should you. In fact you should have been working from home from 28 weeks!
So that’s it! Got a very altered role obviously but feel so conflicted. On the one hand I feel like I’m letting my school and particularly my department down. On the other hand, I feel so relieved as there was no way to keep to the restrictions at all times and each day more and more kids were isolating at home.

Hi guys, mind if I jump on? I'm due my second on 22nd of November. We moved in June from South Wales to the north east and I'm feeling a bit low with having no one to go for a coffee and a catch up with etc I haven't had the opportunity to make any new friends and now my area is back on a bit of a lockdown so would be nice to chat to a few of you guys!

@FudgeFlies hope you're ok. I just got tested yesterday and waiting for the result. It's an extra worry we don't need right now isn't it x

littlegem84 · 21/09/2020 10:51

Hi @FuzzyGoose, welcome. It's such a hard time to be unable to get out and about especially when you are looking to make friends as well. We have a Facebook group running as well - if you'd like to join just add me: www.facebook.com/gemma.howe.12 and I'll add you to the group 😀

Hey everyone, just came back from my 32 week appointment. Baby is in the transverse position. Anyone else in a similar boat? They discussed having an ECV and if that doesn’t work a planned c-section. FTM so was quite overwhelmed with all the information. Anyone had an ECV before? They said they’ll check again if he is in the same position at my next appointment so things may change... Everything seems different now as c-section never really has crossed my mind before. Any thoughts would be helpful :)

littlegem84 · 22/09/2020 17:04

Hi @MrsAJKA I had ECV with my son. Personally, I wouldn't consider it again (it was painful and left bruising) and it didn't work - he was breech and I ended up having an elective c section. The elective section though, while not at all in line with my birth plans, was pretty brilliant and chilled and I recovered fairly quickly from it. Bonus points that I couldn't sit up properly to do those first icky nappies so my other half had to do them all 😂

MrsAJKA · 22/09/2020 17:12

@littlegem84 Yes, I read it’s quite painful to do. I’ve watched a couple of videos today of the procedure too. Does it hurt the baby at all, do you know? Looks painful!

I’m glad you had a successful C- section. I think I may need to do more research with the that because I’ve glossed over it during my pregnancy as it wasn’t anything that’d I’d thought might happen lol

MillieFTM · 22/09/2020 17:16

Hello, last Friday I had my 32 week appointment and midwife said baby was breach but wasn't too worried about it yet as was head down at 30 weeks so maybe just likes to move alot! Can't say it hasn't worried me slightly though as have now got a exercise ball to sit on watching TV and trying not to sit at my desk all day long!
Will be interested to see what she says next week at 34 weeks.
Lots on the internet says babies still have plenty of time to turn!

Iona1985 · 23/09/2020 20:39

@Parentinfo I’m at Kingston! Due 29th!

littlegem84 · 23/09/2020 21:53

@MrsAJKA I couldn't tell you. I assume
It makes them uncomfortable which is what prompts them to move but I'm not 100%.

FilthyforFirth · 24/09/2020 07:46

I am personally very against ecvs. I had one with DS as he was breach and stopped it halfway through. It is painful and distressing and I felt probably distressing for my baby. They dont always work and even if they do there is every chance baby just turns straight back anyway.

I had an elective and I honestly recovered really well. Much better than my poor SIL who had a hard natural labour. If your baby is still breach I would just go for a section. Good luck!

Iona1985 · 25/09/2020 09:56

For those that already have children, does anyone recommend a winter coat or type? E.g get one with a zip because it’s easier with a baby Bjorn or buttons for breast feeding. I don’t want a special one for babies just one that’s easier

littlegem84 · 25/09/2020 10:45

@Iona1985 I bought the maternity one from George at Asda last time around and it is still going strong. It has a zip in panel to accommodate the bump and also if you use a sling it's handy and best of all was about £40 😀

Happymama24 · 27/09/2020 21:40

@millieFtm I had 32 week appointment on Wednesday and baby is also breech. I got diagnosed with Gestational diabetes a d baby is measuring 6lbs already. I asked if they were concerned about the size of baby and what the chances are of baby turning as it grows bigger. They seemed very relaxed about the position of baby and said it will only be at 36 weeks of baby is still breech that they will decide on anything.

Iona1985 · 27/09/2020 22:57

Thanks @littlegem84 there’s an Asda nearby so I’ll go check them out!

@Iona1985 I got a next jacket with the extra panel - very comfortable x

SqidgeBum · 28/09/2020 07:26

Hi everyone. I was on this thread a while back, maybe 20 weeks. I have been kinda quiet since then. I am 35 weeks today, due 2and if November. Just wanted to pop back on and say hi and catch up as we all head into the countdown.

wannabebump · 28/09/2020 07:52

@SqidgeBum how are you keeping?x

SqidgeBum · 28/09/2020 07:55

Sore, not sleeping well, having painful Braxton hicks every 3 days for hours on end, and I am running around after a toddler, but other than that I am ok. Nothing particularly bad or concerning.

How are you @wannabebump?

wannabebump · 28/09/2020 08:59

@SqidgeBum struggling with sleep but otherwise ok!x

Sophie2309 · 28/09/2020 16:53

Anyone else due on the 1st November?? Feels right weird as I'm too late for October but feel too early for the November groups aha!!

35+1 today and wanting these last few weeks to go quickly, back pain, rob pain, feeling sick from baby movements etc are becoming too much nowSmile

littlegem84 · 28/09/2020 17:06

@Sophie2309 me!!! There's a few of us on here who are 😀

RWK29 · 28/09/2020 17:10

Can I jump on too ladies? First baby due 3rd November 😊 hope you’re all keeping well!!

Anyone want to share what baby stuff you’ve picked so far? We’ve gone for Silver Cross Pacific pram and the Snuzpod3 bedside crib 😊 starting to think about bouncer/swing/rocker or something and some kind of baby carrier if anyone has any suggestions? 😊 Also, any lovely things you’ve bought from maybe smaller independent brands? I’ve bought some gorgeous bits from brands on Instagram 😊

Hello!! This is mine and my partners first baby! We have everything ready now pretty much, just awaiting her arrival now! Had my last scan today and she's got long legs and big feet (like both me and my partner, both tall aha!) weighing around 5lb 14oz already Blush I'm southeast, wbu?

SqidgeBum · 28/09/2020 18:08

@Sophie2309 I am the 2nd of november. Not long now!

Can't believe how quickly this pregnancy has gone!! Is it the same for you? I stopped working when I was around 7/8 weeks (19th March was my last day at work) as my boss at the time was convinced I was at high risk because of the pregnancy and said to go home (on full pay so couldn't complain). I then lost that Job mid May as she shut down (was a childminder) so I've been home for almost all my pregnancy where I left work in March. I initially thought it would drag, especially being home all the time and finally being pregnant for the first time after TTC for just over 2 years with PCOS and no luck at all. But it has gone so quickly, now I just want it over with as my arthritis in my spine is at its worst now, my sciatica has begun playing up again and her acrobatics make me feel sick aha! Although I wouldn't change it for the world and can't wait for her to be here now.
