In honour of our third trimester I thought we should start a new thread!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

So I had my final consultant appt today. I decided on a section at 39 weeks as I want to get sterilised.

I did ask about the covid test situation. At my hospital, which is Frimley and in tier 1 currently, for inductions or sections I have to have a swab 3 days before. My birth partner does not. Whilst they dont insist you isolate they do ask that you attempt to minimalise social interactions. I have said I am fine to stay home for the 3 days but I wouldnt want to take my son out of nursery. Luckily they said that they dont expect people not to not go to school/work.

I'm first on the list, barring any last minute emergencies, so on a countdown until Nov 18th now...

SqidgeBum · 24/10/2020 12:36

I am 39 weeks on Monday, and I woke up this morning with a cold! It's just in my nose, and feels exactly like a runny nose, but does anyone know if this will cause me any problems, or my DH any problems if he catches it, if I go into labour in the next week? Of all times!!! I havent been sick (bar MS) for the last 9 months! 🤧😭😭

FudgeFlies · 24/10/2020 17:59

@SqidgeBum I wouldn’t see it being an issue as everyone’s getting colds now, however if you have a high temp or a cough the midwives might be a bit more cautious! As previously mentioned I reckon they’d just give you a test and monitor for any specific covid symptoms? X

littlegem84 · 28/10/2020 06:34

Forgot to say in the excitement over the past week - went to community midwife appt on thurs, got diagnosed with pregnancy induced hypertension and admitted too hospital. I was induced on Friday and after a bit of drama, my little girl arrived via emcs at 4am on Sunday morning, weighting 7lb 10. We are both now on the up and have been sent home 😀

FudgeFlies · 28/10/2020 06:44

@littlegem84 Congratulations!! Flowers

HarrietM87 · 28/10/2020 06:51

Congratulations @littlegem84! Lovely news! I wonder if there’ll be more October babies on this thread?

I’m 38+5 today but expecting to be pregnant for a good few weeks yet!

wannabebump · 28/10/2020 07:30

@littlegem84 congratulations! Hope you are both well x

I'm 38 weeks, still expecting to be pregnant for a while yet though! Have been offered a sweep at 39 weeks, not for any particular reason, just that my nhs trust offer it. No idea what to do!

MrsR87 · 28/10/2020 09:49

@littlegem84 congratulations 😍

I’ve got my 38 week appointment later this week and then another booked on my actual due date at 40 weeks. They’ve booked in enough time for a sweep at the forty week one, although I’m not sure how I feel about it!

FilthyforFirth · 28/10/2020 10:02

Yay another baby! Congrats @littlegem84. Hope you are both recovering well!

Off to my 36 week midwife appt today. They think I've got a urine infection, never had one before. I assume it is quite normal and not a risk to baby or anything?

addler · 28/10/2020 10:02

Congratulations @littlegem84!

I'm not even 36 weeks yet and haven't had any signs that baby is coming any time soon so I think I'll be a December one at this rate Hmm

Jellycat2020 · 28/10/2020 10:08

Congratulations @littlegem84😊💐

@FilthyforFirth UTIs are not dangerous for baby but in rare cases if not could progress to a kidney infection which could end up affecting baby. I think if untreated, you're more prone to early labour but I'm not 100% on that! I get them loads (pre- and during pregnancy) and am on continuous antibiotics now 😔

Jellycat2020 · 28/10/2020 10:09
  • if not TREATED, could progress....
FilthyforFirth · 28/10/2020 10:14

Ah ok, thanks for that @jellycat2020. My results came back as 'inconclusive' on Friday so they want to test me again. Was also in for reduced movement on Monday so feel like I am permanently in bloody appts at the moment! The 18th cant come quick enough... Unless he comes super early I am guarenteed to be a Nov birth!

Jellycat2020 · 28/10/2020 10:25

@FilthyforFirth good luck with it! I'm due the 14th - not long now!

CoBell · 28/10/2020 12:39

Hi ladies, hope you are all doing well! I have another November baby that wanted to arrive in October! She was due on the 5th Novemver but my waters broke at home on Monday so i went into the triage unit and was induced that night due to blood being present and my beautiful 7lb 12oz girl was born yesterday morning at 3.43am after being induced at 8pm Monday night. Needed a bit of help at the end in terms of the suction cup and a few tears but we were home last night after being checked over! Good luck all! X

wannabebump · 28/10/2020 13:26

Congrats @CoBell hope you're all well x

Pinktruffle · 28/10/2020 13:34

Congratulations @CoBell and @littlegem84, lovely to hear about babies arriving safely and mummy's doing well. Great weights too!

MrsR87 · 28/10/2020 13:34

Congratulations @CoBell.

Hope you are both well ❤️

Wise0wl · 28/10/2020 13:35

Congratulations @littlegem84 and @CoBell!!!

37 weeks and not expecting any early arrivals here.

FuzzyGoose · 28/10/2020 14:00

Hi guys! Thought id jump on of that's ok (although I'm a little late to the party). I'm 36 weeks now! Due 22nd of November and I cannot wait for this baby to get here. I have a one year old who is currently cutting two molars and he's really suffering, bless him. Which means ever less sleep for me than I was getting before and. Very very very grumpy one year old 😭 I'm not coping haha.

Congrats to all those who have welcomed their little ones already 😊

Pinktruffle · 28/10/2020 14:03

I've just spoken to the consultant midwife and my ELCS has been booked in for 20/11. I can't believe I know the date I'm likely to meet my baby! It's just 3 weeks away

FilthyforFirth · 28/10/2020 14:08

Congrats @cobell! Hope you are both recovering well. I'm excited to see these babies being born!

It's great isn't it @pinktruffle?! I think we have similar due dates. I am booked in for the 18th so exactly 3 weeks today. I need to get my ass in gear, havent packed his or my bag yet! Only just finishing the nursery now and sorting out his clothes...

addler · 28/10/2020 14:24

Congratulations @CoBell!

BG1234 · 28/10/2020 14:44

Congratulations @littlegem84 and @CoBell! I’m 37 wks tomorrow and got a feeling it’s going to be early one way or another!

Pinktruffle · 28/10/2020 15:16

@FilthyforFirth I've been quite prepared on that front (due to lack of anything else to do as I'm WFH but my role means I have very little to do) my suitcase is pretty much packed, baby's stuff is all washed and ready. Just have to make it through the next few weeks and try to get as much rest as possible!
