In honour of our third trimester I thought we should start a new thread!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

@HarrietM87 sorry to hear you're going through that - it seems common them for them to want to induce "big" babies that often aren't even big in the end!! Hopefully you will go into labour naturally before that!

FudgeFlies · 15/10/2020 21:04

@wannabebump I haven’t slept past 5/6am for the last few months! Most of the time I’m up at 4.30am and can’t get back to sleep! Frustrating!

eleanorsos · 16/10/2020 18:17

@HarrietM87 Apparently measuring big here too, I'm a week or so behind you but think I'll have to discuss options with the midwife next week. Don't suppose you have any links to the stuff about induction not always being helpful out of interest? I'd really rather not but they do love to scare you don't they!

wannabebump · 16/10/2020 19:29

Sorry to everyone who's suffering with lack of sleep at night as well, but secretly nice to know I'm not alone! X

CoBell · 17/10/2020 03:44

@wannabebump, no you're defo not alone with the lack of sleep! I'm wide awake at various times during the night! My hips are so sore and I'm constantly up and down for the toilet! I'm just over 37 weeks now and my maternity leave started yesterday which I am so glad about as the discomfort is starting to get to me now! X

wannabebump · 17/10/2020 08:00

@CoBell I'm a couple of day's behind you pregnancy wise but otherwise feeling identical! Being uncomfortable has literally hit me so quickly, thought I was doing so well 😂

MoreGinPlease2020 · 17/10/2020 08:59

Does anyone know they have a back to back baby? What do the movements feel like? Mine has apparently been in the right position since week 24 and was fine last week at my last midwife appointment but I'm getting loads more movement than usual around my belly button and wonder if she's turned.

Pink15 · 17/10/2020 09:07

@MoreGinPlease2020 My baby is not back to back and I can tell Cos there's like a really hard long bit on my bump which is the back/bump so my bump is super firm. I imagine if the back was back to back your bump would be much softer and no hard structures to feel?

Pink15 · 17/10/2020 09:07

Back/bum *

MoreGinPlease2020 · 17/10/2020 09:22

@Pink15 That's what I've got but unless she's elbowing me constantly on both sides, I'm at a bit of a loss to explain the bellybutton poking. 😂

Pink15 · 17/10/2020 09:26

@MoreGinPlease2020 maybe that's it then 😂 I never really understand what I'm feeling as doesn't seem to make sense with the position the midwife tells me haha. Apparently after your baby is born your recognise a lot of their movements they do on the outside!

addler · 17/10/2020 09:33

Mine seems to like to spin around on its head like a breakdance. Some days my belly is soft and there's loads of big belly-shaking movements and other days it's really hard and firm and I feel more sweeping/rolling movements.

MoreGinPlease2020 · 17/10/2020 09:33

@Pink15 Oh dear god, that's going to be interesting!

MoreGinPlease2020 · 17/10/2020 09:52

@addler Do you know if they rotate like that once they've started to engage?

addler · 17/10/2020 10:41

@MoreGinPlease2020 My midwife said it shouldn't be as often but that also some babies like to turn right up to and during birth! I guess it just depends on the shape of your pelvis and size of baby. Mine has quite a large head compared to the rest of the body which is of course the perfect part to be enormous Hmm

Ding123 · 17/10/2020 10:42

For a long time I felt babys legs on poking me on either side of my belly. The kicks were intense and left me breathless at times. Then two days ago something changed, I could no longer feel the legs and the intensity of movement changed. I grew a little concerned but was still feeling the baby, it was more rolling than kicks. I had mw app yesterday at almost 37 weeks and was told baby is absolutely fine. He is head down and not back to back. So he must've turned over during the last few days.

LozEliza · 18/10/2020 22:17

37 weeks today here 🙋🏻‍♀️ only 4/5ths engaged at mw appointment on Friday though. Last week at work next week WTH Tues, Weds, Thurs in the office Mon and Fri. Can't bloody wait to finish doesn't feel real!

LozEliza · 18/10/2020 22:17

WFH* 🤦🏻‍♀️

HarrietM87 · 19/10/2020 07:28

@eleanorsos check out evidence based birth and the NICE guidelines - induction for size alone is not recommended! My next appointment is 2 days before my due date so will discuss it then. I was so overdue last time (12 days and had an induction to kick him out!) that I really doubt she will come early this time, but hoping for the best!

Re movements, the main signs of a back to back baby are little fluttering movements behind your pubic bone (their hands touching their face) and a dip around your belly button. Mine is still moving all over the place at 37+3 and isn’t engaged yet, which is totally normal for a second baby.

This is my last week at work, stopping on Friday at 38 weeks. Can’t wait!

eleanorsos · 19/10/2020 10:31

@HarrietM87 ah that's helpful thank you! Speaking to the midwife tomorrow so will ask more then for sure. I finished up work on Friday and so glad I did! All the best for your last week 🥳

Happymama24 · 19/10/2020 18:23

Hi everyone, so 36+1 weeks today.
I had my appointment earlier and baby is still breech. They have booked me in for an ECV on Friday. I am quite nervous about this. Baby is large but all my previous babies were on the larger side too so I'm not surprised.
Has anyone had an ECV before? Could you please share your experiences with me

littlegem84 · 20/10/2020 02:28

@Happymama24 I had ECV last time and I probably wouldn't do it again. I found it quite uncomfortable, ended up covered in bruises and it didn't work. However lots of women do have it successfully.

MoreGinPlease2020 · 20/10/2020 03:08

Another November baby who wouldn't wait for her due date... Waters broke dramatically at 9.15am (I was still in bed having a lazy morning 😂) and baby was born at 10.04pm. All very intense and totally not how I'd planned to spend my day!

GingerScallop · 20/10/2020 04:15

Congratulations Moregin. Wow. Enjoy the cuddles

SqidgeBum · 20/10/2020 04:18

@MoreGinPlease2020 amazing!!! Massive congratulations :-) I cant believe they are starting to appear already! I am 38+1 and I am crossing my fingers each day that this is the day, although I know I could have weeks more of this. DD1 was 1 day early.

Considering its 4am, and I have been up since 2:20am, and I have another day ahead of surviving with a toddler, I am DONE.
