Hello! So I'm 32+4 with my second, a girl this time 😊 the whole pregnancy has gone quick as been running round after my toddler, though now I know I'm almost there it's going so slowly! So looking for some buddies to compare notes and pass the time with! Though don't know why I want it to hurry up as I know too well the pain and sleepless nights ahead 🤣 just I think uncomfortable enough now to want her out! Everywhere pretty swollen already, hips hurt and wake me up, I pee all the time even in the night, tired and get some braxton hicks. How are others doing?

Sorry you guys are having such a tough time sleeping. Hopefully you're not getting too many comments from others saying "rest now, before the baby arrives" - I remember smiling politely at all those comments last time, but wanting to scream really!

@Spark27 I am with you on being swollen down below. I actually took a look in the mirror the other day, and it's not a pretty sight - presume all will calm down after the birth, but it's not the nicest is it.

Spark27 · 19/08/2020 08:11

@Flower81 I remember holding back the sarcastic reply of 'well I cant f**king bank sleep can I'.

You're a braver person than me. I keep thinking to have a look, but then easily get distracted

Crumbsinthecarpet · 19/08/2020 08:12

Ditto on pregnancy insomnia 🙈 I get to sleep just fine, stick my hypnobirthing tapes on and hear about 4 words before I'm completely out, however get woken up by periody pain, or hip pain (it feels like they are being pulled apart!!!) And then can't get back to sleep :(
Here here to being sick and tired of being pregnant, 36 weeks on Friday and really feel like I'd be more than happy for her to come now! Though it would be more convenient for her to come at term as then the house would be finished, DH has been redoing the kitchen and just need the floors sorting now, and the new front door to arrive...

I'm also struggling between the need to nest and the pain from doing it 😂 decided to pay a cleaner to come in next week and do a deep clean on the house, there's no bloody way I can get in the oven to clean the bugger! Might be a waste of money though as the house will get dusty as hell again as soon as DH does next round of plastering 🤷

mistletoeprickles · 19/08/2020 08:43

@Crumbsinthecarpet how are you coping with renovations at this point in your pregnancy? I'd be having a break down. I hate housework at the best of times but I nest terribly when I have the energy. I've found I have so little energy this time though.

@Flower81 people piss me off! You cant store up sleep but at least people aren't touching me this time around. I remember I women in the supermarket when I was pregnant with DS, who just put her hands on my tummy. I was very WTF Angry. I got annoyed when it was hot with the "I don't know how your coping in this weather" or the "oh your bigger this time".
We haven't put anything on social media so the first school run will be interesting with comments!

@Spark27 your brave looking 🤣. TMI....I need to do the pre-section shave otherwise they take to me with a dry razor 🤯. DH did it for me when I had a bath last time so I'll be roping him in again! Hes very good at doing things like that. I remember standing up for the first time after my last section and I bled everywhere, he just cleaned me up like it was nothing.

I have period like pains this morning, I'm thinking the midwife may send me in to triage when I see her shortly. Baby is definitely lower again because I can feel him pressing on my cervix. He needs telling hes not coming out that way!

Elly88 · 19/08/2020 14:15

Loving the idea of sending the children to MIL/nursery and secretly booking the day off, definitely something I'd do 🤣 MIL might have him 2 afternoons a week now (hopefully) but come night before he's due to go i get terrible mum guilt and change my mind. But I am really struggling to take him and the dog out and entertain them both. Worse news is DH's work shifts might be changing back to normal full days (7-5) whereas with the whole covid thing he's been at home in the morning and going in at lunch time so I've only had to entertain LO in the afternoon myself. DH has had to work until 11pm but its worked quite well tbh he just sleeps in till 8/9am. Worrying how I'm gonna cope 5 long days on my own at this point 🙈
Ditto to swollen bits! I wouldn't say my episiotomy scar is any more so than the rest but I have been rubbing a bit of my stretch mark cream into it in the hopes of not tearing again - wishful thinking.
A cleaner sounds glorious!
Ooh exciting @mistletoeprickles let us know how you get on! How many weeks are you now? I'm 34+3 and soooooo impatienttttttttttttt 🤬 not that for her health I'd want her to be born this early but just want time to go quicker lol

OP posts:
Crumbsinthecarpet · 19/08/2020 14:21

@mistletoeprickles it's driving me fucking nuts 😂😂 the new front door is coming on my due date 🙈 luckily my mum is close by and has said me and the kids can stay for a few days while it's going on if it comes down to it!

@elly88 also wishing time to go quicker 😂 trying to savour last few weeks of being mummy to just DS so I get all the cuddles etc but honestly I'm just uncomfortable and fat and ready for her to be OUT

Spark27 · 19/08/2020 15:20

I'm the same @Elly88. 34+3 today and pretty damn uncomfortable. I want her here, but I also dont feel ready. I need to finish sorting the nursery, it has everything in it, but is a bit of a mess. I need to do some batch cooking and order a load to stock the freezer (planning on that from beginning of Sept). I also want to enjoy it just being the 3 of us for a bit longer, but that's getting difficult the more uncomfortable I get

mistletoeprickles · 19/08/2020 15:52

I'm a week behind you at 33+4 but section will be week commencing 21st of september so the end is really insight for me.

Midwife was happy today, growth is fine and shes not concerned about the pains. Just keep an eye out for a pattern etc.

MIL stayed for a few hours today to help out with the other two and keep me company, it was actually really lovely.

Elly88 · 19/08/2020 16:25

Glad it's not just me! Feel like my bump has really popped more last couple days too.
Feel you on the swollen, fat and uncomfortable. My sciatic is playing up today too.
Just wish I knew what date I was going to have her for definite so I can get it in my head. Anyone else trying the old raspberry leaf tea/dates/pineapple etc this time?
Unfortunately I don't have room in my freezer to batch cook :(

OP posts:
booroo · 19/08/2020 16:37

I remeber I tried eating so so much pineapple with my first to try and avoid induction Blush I can assure you it did nothing but give me a strange metallic taste in My mouth.. would not recommend lol

Crumbsinthecarpet · 19/08/2020 16:58

@Elly88 rlt, evening primrose, dates, sex 🙋🏼‍♀️😂

Elly88 · 19/08/2020 17:40

Haha, pineapple has been a craving throughout both my pregnancies so I don't think it does much either! Haven't tried evening primrose oil. Not sure I have the energy or self esteem for much sex 😂😂🙈
A tmi question for you ladies - anyone been experiencing more CM down there recently? Hoping it's babies head lower down making it happen..i have been on my birthing ball a bit to try a burn a few cals and stretch my back out

OP posts:
Crumbsinthecarpet · 19/08/2020 18:17

@Elly88 yes lots, so much I'd wear a pantiliner and change it half way through the day! Often makes me question if my waters have started to go then realise it's cm 😂😂

Elly88 · 19/08/2020 18:25

@crumbsinthecarpet good shout tbf!
Omg my bump just feels so stretched and hard, I know I got bigger than this with ds but I don't feel like there's enough room for her! She just really needs to get out lol. 37 weeks on the dot please 😜

OP posts:
Spark27 · 19/08/2020 20:26

@Elly88 I've had loads of cm throughout the whole pregnancy. Did last time too.

I dont like pineapple, or dates. Not a fan of hot/spicy currys and cant see me having the energy for sex 🤣. Not tried raspberry leaf tea. Takes me forever to drink things that taste rank, I cant just knock it back. And I'm crap at taking tablets so cant do the capsules either. I'm basically useless, lol x

I do love a bit of TMI! You’ve all inspired me to check downstairs and yes, it’s definitely not the same as usual times! Grin And yes pantyliners are a must.

MIL (bless her, she really does a lot for us!) is having DS overnight next weekend for me and DH to have a night out. I am already heart eyed at the thought of someone else cooking for me!

Spark27 I feel you about help- my DM was going to be having DS while I was in labour but has now announced she has to take her FC to uni the weekend after I’m due Hmm DS was 11 days late and only arrived after being served his eviction notice via pessary, so I’m not holding much hope of DD being on time.

Crumbsinthecarpet I love the idea of getting a cleaner in! I did antibac the full banister yesterday and hoovered the lounge twice!

I completely feel you all on wanting to relish being a family of 3 for the last time and DS being my “baby”. I just want to soak so much of him in at the moment as he is at a lovely stage (just prior to the terrible two’s!) and starting to talk.

I’m 35+3 today (I think... baby brain and tiredness!). I keep saying 4 weeks left but DS was 11 days late. I tried EVERYTHING! I even had my Mum texting me telling me to have sex Shock. I had two sweeps that did nothing, so I’m not even entertaining the idea of them this time.

I had an hour long nap after DH finished work this evening and I can’t tell if I feel better or worse for it! I think I need to stop stressing over how little/when I’m getting it, as it’ll only get worse when baby’s here.

UserFriendly14 · 19/08/2020 22:13

MIL does keep telling me I’m bigger than last time and touched my stomach last time I saw her. I actually recoiled and hopefully she got the hint! Angry

Elly88 · 20/08/2020 00:04

@userfriendly14 I hate any comment on my appearance when pregnant even if a compliment lol. I always blow up everywhere so don't feel confident so just don't want anything mentioned lol. Overnight sounds glorious! Haven't braved that yet with DS, he a very light sleeper and such a home bird, plus MIL tends to deviate from the routine and is an extremely heavy sleeper so I'd worry she wouldn't hear him if he cried!
Anyone else got sore boobs? Mine haven't been for ages but all of a sudden I feel like the side and underneath of the right one is bruised?! Come on hormones, please be prepping something! 🤞🏻

OP posts:
mistletoeprickles · 20/08/2020 07:01

@Elly88 my boobs have been horrendous for about a week but I've been leaking too. This is the first pregnancy I've had any leaking post-baby. I'm having to stick to baths as the shower keeps stimulating them!
No extra CM here unfortunately but I do really need him to stay in until my section date at 38 weeks.

I've had a better nights sleep here even with DS having a little mess around at 2am.

I'm a little jealous of the cleaner coming in idea, however I've wrote myself a list of jobs that don't get done regularly like washing curtains etc and I'm aiming to do one a day, aim being the plan but I don't know how that will go Grin.

I don't have enough room to batch cook either so DH and I going to do a shop for easy meals before I go into hospital. We have the day just him and I. Hes fully prepared that cooking will be solely down to him for a little while. We traditionally always have a "welcome home baby" Chinese too. After 3 days of hospital food I think its deserved!

New hospital guidelines for postnatal wards have just been released here. We were on no visitors at all but DH will now be allowed for 2 hours between 4pm-6pm. I'll definitely be getting home as quick as I can but the baby will need 3 stable blood glucose readings and I'll have catheter for at least 12 hours Angry.

Spark27 · 20/08/2020 11:48

Went for my 34w appt this morning (34+4) and my fundal measurement is low. I'm now measuring 31w (was measuring 27 at the 28w one) and that puts me below the 10th centile. Been booked in for a growth scan later this afternoon. Mw wasnt concerned though- she said hb was good (155 bpm), baby was moving around, and she said baby was really low (4/5th engaged at the mo) so all factors likely contributing to it. But the guidance means I need a scan. Means I get to see baby again.

At my 32w private growth scan it was measuring at 50th centile, so will be interesting to see what this one says.

She also said baby seemed to be back to back, which explains the backache

mistletoeprickles · 20/08/2020 12:02

@Spark27 let us know how you get on. Mine is back to back too. Well was yesterday, today hes just hurting me ribs!

UserFriendly14 · 20/08/2020 13:15

Hope you get on OK Spark27 Like you say, at least you get to see baby again.

Elly88 · 20/08/2020 18:15

How did you get on at your scan @spark27?
Wish I was measuring small rather than big lol 🙈 my MIL tells me she was induced with my husband's sister at 35 weeks as she was measuring small and all was fine. (slightly jealous as I'm almost 35 weeks now and would love to be induced if all was OK!) 🤣

OP posts:
Spark27 · 20/08/2020 19:29

All ok at the scan. Measurements show it to be between the 10-15th centile. Approx weight 4lbs 12oz at the mo. Took a while to check the blood flow as baby kept playing with the cord 🙄.

They said any issues to give them a call, and obvs keep an eye on movement, but they were happy that shes just a bit smaller. I cant imagine how uncomfortable I'd feel if she was measuring big. They confirmed that she's back to back. x
