DH and the kids were joking about earlier - the outfit I am wearing is hugging my food rounded stomach slightly and the DC were jokingly asking if I had a baby in there...DH said no of course not....it just looks like it!

I waited until the DC were out of hearing .... and said to DH ‘I’m on a 23 day cycle, I have been since March and that works out that I’m currently .... 9 days late‘

He paled significantly and went out to buy a test 😂

I suspected I am menopausal rather than pregnant as I’m nearly 45, but it wasn’t until they were joking around that I really thought about it.

I am exhausted, I have heartburn, I haven’t had a migraine in three weeks (directly linked to my cycle) and well I’m 9 days late.

He got back with the test and here I am

I have previously only had a 50% success rate as had two mmc.

Due date would be around 16th April.

I’m 44 I have two DC age 9 and 7 .... this one shall be called ... Boo!

I’m fairly certain that symptoms come and go. Some days by boobs hurt more than others. My IBS has flared up terribly which I’m finding difficult 😫 I’m trying to pinpoint which foods are triggering it but there doesn’t seem to be a pattern so far. I’ve noticed I tend to feel a bit drained and nauseous in the afternoon until bedtime but full of beans the rest of the day. I think in a few weeks time if we all struggle with sickness we’ll wish for the days we didn’t have it! 😂

@Apricotta Ok, so do you not recommend pregnacare? Why do you take extra folic acid. I need to look into getting something as I’m not currently taking anything.
Yes, I’m a key worker but also had some time off work. Due to the nature of my work I will need amended duties rather quickly.

Hi all, I’m new here, totally new! I never joined mumsnet when I had my first but decided it might be quite helpful to deal with various anxieties 🙈
Estimated due date is 12th April so I’m 5weeks+4.... I don’t know if this is normal but I seem to be really achy and getting strange feelings/pains that I don’t remember having with my first????

@Rlacpb if you're already taking pregnacare stick with it. At least go to your local supermarket and get a bottle of Folic Acid tablets!!!!!!!!
Folic acid stops spina bifida, crucially important in the first few weeks and trimester of pregnancy!!! The neural tube of the baby's spine forms and closes wks 5-8 I think.
I'm taking extra as it's so important and I'm relatively fat. Technically obese, but you wouldn't think I was to look at me. The bigger you are the more of it you need (I've read).

I came on here to say I've had heartburn today but surely it's too early, only to see @Rlacpb @wutheredout and @jlm1008 you all have it too, so clearly not! That's disappointing, I don't want 8m of heartburn!😂

@Sals27 I didn’t have heartburn with my first two DC (or either of my 2 mmc) but this time I can feel it all the time - I quite like it, in three of my four pregnancies I didn’t have any symptoms I like there being something tangible to Grasp hold of as a symptom!

I feel like I might be out.. I'm worried I'm having a chemical or a mmc. I've never had one before so don't actually know what to look out for.. I'm starting to worry myself. I started having spotting last night and it's carried on till now, I've had mild cramps and then now there's streaks of red blood in the spotting (only small amounts). I took another test (I know I shouldn't do this to myself) but it felt like ages before the line started to appear and it's the lightest test I've done since I found out a couple of weeks ago. I have an early private scan booked in two weeks but I don't feel like I could go that long worrying. Has any of you ladies experienced this I don't know what to do with myself.

@clueless987 sending lots of hugs. I’ve got crazy stomach cramps and super worried myself, called the doctors and they really weren’t any help. I have a private scan I’ve already booked for next Friday when I should be 8+2, but no idea how I’m going to get through the next week. There’s no availability to even reschedule. If you haven’t had full on bleeding that’s positive, so try to remember that. I know easier said than done.

@clueless987 I know how alarming blood and spotting can be. But it doesn't automatically mean bad news. Have you got an EPU near you you could contact? Depending on how far along you are they might be able to do bloods or scan you (they don't typically scan before 6 weeks). A lighter test could also be down to the hook effect, although I'm not sure at what stage that kicks in. You didn't mention strong cramps which is also positive. I've been there and it is so hard not knowing what is going on, sending hugs . Some of the best advice I got was to try to rest, which ever way it goes that is good for you x

@Workingmama1 @Kristy17 thanks for your replies! Yeah I've been getting cramps that feel like I'm about to come on my period! No full on bleed but there's been red streaks in the spotting if you know what I mean.. I just spoke to my EPU to try and ease my mind, they weren't helpful at all they basically said that because of covid they can't do anything. Even if I was to start full on bleeding they just arnt scanning people early right now so I'm just going to try and think positive and not worry myself (advice from my DP) i will just have to sit tight and hold on till my early scan on the 26th. This will be torture!

@WutheredOut I was the same with DC1, I had no symptoms until the PGP appeared mid way through T2. I did get heartburn but much later on. I am firmly in the happy to not have symptoms camp though 😂

I've just found out I'm expecting my second. It's extremely early (P not due til tomorrow!) but I've had several positive tests.

Feeling very nervous - I am having loads of hot flushes and feeling a bit queasy with them, which is really strange as I had no symptoms at all until about 7 weeks last time. I'm quite worried this will be a chemical. But trying to be optimistic, and hoping it sticks. If it does, my due date would be 26/04.

Welcome @leaferty I'm expecting my second two. How old is your DC1, mines 23 months so I'll have a 2.5 year age gap 😄
