@lastditchattempt20
So sorry, I didn’t see your message!
I’ve tested early which means I’m only 4 weeks this Wednesday!!
I’m looking into booking an early scan for 8/9 weeks. I just know it’ll put my mind at ease for sure! X

Just back from a weekend away with friends. Totally got away without drinking, if they suspected, they didn't let on. I did get called grandma a bit for being the first to bed each night Grin I had a lovely time though, despite some cramps and discharge that had me convinced AF had arrived more than once. Did a test the second I walked through the door and got a lovely strong line so I'm feeling cheery that all is well so far. Made a pact with myself that there will be no testing after this week (ie when my stash runs out Wink) and thinking about trying to shift my early scan back a week so I'm more likely to see the heart beat because I think I will relax a lot after that!

chrissagcat · 03/08/2020 16:13

@glastogal good for you! I'm currently still living through our holiday away with family. First day Said DH could have a drink and I'd drive in front of them. Second day family bbq birthday j said designated driver. Yesterday at the beach my brother in law asked if DH wanted a beer I went oh go on then. And today out for lunch the family said we should do Rock Paper Scissors and I said we did it in the car and I lost... then my FIL said well if DH only had one I can have one tonight wahhhhh!!! And my mother in law said last night at dinner "that's two nights you've not been able to have a glass of wine" SO STRESSED WITH THIS.

Tonight we are back over there for dinner and I'm tempted to open and empty a gin in a gin before I go and pretend to open when I get there then politely decline the offer of another?? Any advice appreciated as running out of ideas 🤯😩

glastogal · 03/08/2020 16:20

@chrissagcat any chance of drink swapping with the hubby? Just hold your drink for ages and occasionally swap with your DH so it looks like yours is going down. I have no idea if that would work!!

chrissagcat · 03/08/2020 16:24

@glastogal the only thing is that one of us needs to drive home to where we are staying so if he was actually drinking it then neither of us could drive as they'd think I'm drinking and not driving. Ahhh then he says an hour ago why don't we just tell them. I'm like no I've gone all this time keeping it quiet. Even if they know and aren't letting on that's fine I just can't handle being asked to drink again!!! Lol

penny92 · 03/08/2020 18:21

Feeling a little low this afternoon. I did another CB and the test line is much more faint than one I did a week ago. I had drank a lot of water and it was the afternoon so I'm hoping that was the issue, but I am worried. I have a digital test that I plan on doing with FMU tomorrow, but then I need to stop testing and just wait I guess... what will be will be.

Praying that it works out though.

2020wish · 03/08/2020 18:29

@penny92 you can’t depend on tests that are afternoon pee and after loads to drink. Ur urine is too diluted. Only take tests either with fmu as long as u haven’t peed during the night and afternoon l/ evening urine after a 4 hour hold and no drinking

penny92 · 03/08/2020 18:35

I hope so, thanks @2020wish - I'm really hoping that is the case.

Hard not to feel anxious when things are so unknown.

2020wish · 03/08/2020 18:40

@penny92 I know my anxiety is all over the place. It’s horrible

Maybe3ornot · 04/08/2020 07:17

2 BFP! Only took the cheap test yesterday afternoon to discount being pregnant as felt AF was on her way. Then when 2 solid lines appeared I went straight to try with a CB digital. Couldn’t wee so had to wait half an hour and then boom, 2-3 weeks pregnant! Calculated due 10th April, this will be my 3rd and my partners 2nd. Bit of an age gap as mine will be 14 and 11 when born 😬

Bouncytree · 04/08/2020 07:19

@glastogal it’s a nightmare!

Can you accept drinks and just ‘lose’ them or secretly chuck them? Maybe your husband can not drink and you can pretend you are drinking.

Another option if it’s ongoing is to confide in someone to Ease the pressure, but that depends On your relationship with them. I find it ok to tell some close people before the 12 weeks. We will prob tell the MIL shortly, but we are close and I’m going on holidays and an overnighted with friends where I will be ‘expected’ to drink. It’s dreadful when u realise how much pressure is, isn’t it? I’m gonna tell them, I just can’t be bothered with the hiding. I will just say it’s very early and might all go wrong at this stage. If it slips out to my brothers at another point, so be it. I think when people are told in confidence, it’s different from making a ‘big announcement’ .

I hate the pressure of trying not to tell anyone, and I think I prefer some people to know then you can get support if anything does happen.

I will likely tell someone is work before the 12 weeks too. It’s good to have a few allies in places.

Anyone else have thoughts on this?

@penny92 it’s such a catch 22 infant it? I tested again the day after I found out and was freaked because the line seemed fainter! I decided then not to test anymore as it was doing the opposite of reassuring me. I decided if my period hasn’t shown up then I’m definitely still pregnant!

Sexnotgender · 04/08/2020 07:21

Congratulations @Maybe3ornot Flowers I’m due on the 10th too.

Bouncytree · 04/08/2020 07:23

Congratulations @Maybe3ornot lol it’s funny how it’s always a surprise somehow!

Maybe3ornot · 04/08/2020 07:30

Thank you @Sexnotgender and @Bouncytree. He had his one in a million chance with his first child as he was told he couldn’t have children, so happened quicker than thought 😆.

Bouncytree · 04/08/2020 07:46

Oh that’s amazing @Maybe3ornot super congratulations in the case! 🎉🎉🎉

chrissagcat · 04/08/2020 10:40

@Bouncytree yes it is so stressful. DH and I had a fall out before we got to the family for dinner last night as I emptied a can of gin down the sink and planned on taking it in with me and hold it for the night..and he couldn't get it!! Said people will then offer me drinks and I said well he can have a drink of it when no one is looking. He said I'm making it into a bigger thing than it is.

Saying no 4 nights in a row is stressful and feel it's a total giveaway to say no to one small wine day in day out..! Upset he didn't get where I was coming from and not ready to tell SIL as she is 23 weeks pregnant so if something went wrong I wouldn't want her to feel she couldn't enjoy the pregnancy with me around etc. Also feel I'll be judged for having a 3rd as everyone else just part of small families. Ahhhh I need to get a grip

lastditchattempt20 · 04/08/2020 13:05

Does anyone else have different coloured CM? Mines been fairly clear/yellow but just the tiniest bit of slightly darker yellow this morning (not brown). Also feel 'heavy' sown there like period due, no cramps though. Could all be nothing, but is unnerving. Tests all fine this morning. Lines darker. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 😕

lastditchattempt20 · 04/08/2020 13:05

*down there

Lottie2021 · 04/08/2020 15:36

Looks like I’m joining the April 2021 crew ro🙊👶🏼
However this is my first. Had to phone 111 and sent in to a&e the weekend due to being in so much pain. They said everything is normal and not to worry. But 3 days later I’m still in agony.

Anyone else suffered really bad cramps / uterus pain particularly when sat down. I’m booked in for an early scan Friday to double check everything.

How do you deal with the cramps

PeachesAndHoney · 04/08/2020 16:14

Welcome and congratulations to new joiners!

How is everyone today?

I have started taking antiemetics today after vomiting a lot yesterday. Ugh. Was hoping it wouldn't be as bad this time. Anyway, hopefully the anti sickness stuff will help and I'll feel a bit better soon.

My app tells me that the baby will have a heartbeat by the end of this week which I find pretty mind blowing! It is amazing how quickly they develop at this stage.

PeachesAndHoney · 04/08/2020 16:14

@Lottie2021 sorry to hear about the terrible cramps - that sounds miserable. Don't be afraid to go back if you're not happy. Hope you feel better soon.

PeachesAndHoney · 04/08/2020 16:16

@lastditchattempt20 mine has been totally clear so far this pregnancy but I had quite a lot of spotting when I was pregnant with DD and she was hale and hearty when she was born. It is worrying though. I hope it settles down soon.

PeachesAndHoney · 04/08/2020 16:19

@Bouncytree I have started to tell people quietly. The hyperemesis slightly forced my hand because I know I'll be completely out of action for a while very soon so I need my support network to be there when that happens. So I've told local friends and my mum, dad and sister.

When I was pregnant with DD I had to tell work when I was 6 weeks because I was so sick! I ended up not going back until I was 26 weeks!

PeachesAndHoney · 04/08/2020 16:21

@chrissagcat did you manage to disguise the not drinking today?

Anyway, sorry for spamming the thread with multiple posts! Will go and find something else to do now! Smile
