Far Im sorry to hear about the cramping and spotting. I'm hoping that you can come back and update us with good news in a few days. Take good care of yourself. Thanks

Serethiel · 31/07/2020 20:34

@tinatsarina I have been ringing round my local scan places! Unfortunately, they've all said the same thing "partners yes, children no" I have been told to call back nearer when I want the scan to see if the guidance has changed....but the way things are being reported in the news, I don't think that's very likely :( I have a little boy who's 3 in october and I have no childcare for him. Because of the guidance it means we can't do a private scan together. So looks like my partner won't be seeing this baby on screen! :( gutted

Serethiel · 31/07/2020 20:36

@farfaraway1 I'm sorry to hear this 😔 sending you all the hugs! Take care x

Hi ladies, can I tentatively join? I got my BFP yesterday at 13DPO. My due date calculator puts me at 3+5 today, so very early days, but it was a strong line for such an early test so I'm trying to take some comfort from that. No symptoms yet, just really sore boobs. This is our first baby, after 4 cycles TTC.

I had a telephone appointment with my doctor today (still no face to face there) to do, well I don't know what it was meant to be for, or what they'd do under normal circumstances, but she just asked about dates and worked out my BMI. Worried me a bit though because when I told her my cycle started on 6th July she was all 'that's very early to be getting a positive pregnancy test, when was your period before that, maybe your last one was a withdrawal bleed' - so who knows, I may be further along than I think! I don't think I am, but it's making me anxious to get in to see a midwife. I could only do a self referral online and no idea when they will call me back 😕. How are the rest of you getting on with scans and such?

It's still not really sunk in that I am actually pregnant, I keep getting the test back out to stare at it! I saw up thread that there was mention of a fb group but don't know if that got set up? If it did could someone point me in the right direction please, I'd like to join!

Massive congratulations to all you mamas on your BFPs!

crazybat · 31/07/2020 20:49

Hello, very new back to mumsnet. Had a massive shock yesterday. Feeling very alone. 4weeks + 2 have worked out due date 7th April.

New partner (only 2 months) Has reacted badly. Friends and family
Supportive but still feel very alone. Is my 3rd (my youngest is 10) x anyone else potentially doing it alone? X

Sexnotgender · 31/07/2020 21:16

I’m so sorry @Farfaraway1 Flowers

I’m sorry your partner reacted badly @crazybat

2020wish · 31/07/2020 21:23

Congrats to everyone that has got their BFP! Welcome to the thread

@crazybat so sorry he has acted badly. Congrats on ur BFP. My daughter is 9 so this is all new to me also!

mammii · 31/07/2020 21:26

@Farfaraway1 I really hope this isn't the case and that it is just a bit of early pregnancy spotting/cramping. I don't want to give you false hope as everyone is of course different. But during my first pregnancy I had cramping and bled on and off (at one point it was bright red and had some clots) for 3 weeks - from weeks 5-8. I had an early scan and all was fine. They couldn't explain the bright red blood, was just something and nothing. How far gone are you? I was told by midwives/consultant that spotting and light cramping is very common in early pregnancy and often not a cause for concern. And even red blood isn't always a cause for concern)... I really hope all will be okay and if not, sending you lots of love your way xx

crazybat · 31/07/2020 21:55

Thank you all. He’s basically just said he wants me to get an abortion and he’s not interested, and now I’m on block. Guess I would rather find out now. X :(

Sexnotgender · 31/07/2020 22:04

What a terrible way to find out what he’s really like. Do you have support in real life?

2020wish · 31/07/2020 22:04

@crazybat he has u blocked? Really? How immature... you said you are only together 2 months? Honestly I think he needs to take a hike and u and ur baby thrive.

crazybat · 31/07/2020 22:13

Yeah I only found out yesterday, we’ve both been careless (I was waiting for my next period to start new pill) I think he feels I’ve done it on purpose (I haven’t. New job, at university and covid!) I wanted another baby at some point (I’m early 30’s) so it was in the eventual plan but not right now... I just feel so stupid. X I know I’ll be fine I have 2 other children, I just didn’t want it to be this way xx

crazybat · 31/07/2020 22:14

I do, tons. Who all were very excited and hinted about girls all day. Grin But it’s not the same As someone with you in the thick of it xx
2020wish · 31/07/2020 22:30

@crazybat I think ur lucky u seen his true colours so soon. And u never know he might want to be a apart of the babies life later on in the pregnancy but until then and even after our urself and baby first

I’m early 30s also with that near ten year age gap, least ur other kids are up a bit and can fend for themselves and also help u out x

crazybat · 31/07/2020 23:37

Thank you lovely xx that’s the plan not sure about the teenager though 😂

Hi everyone, can I join? Just found out I’m pregnant and I think due in April with baby #2! I hate the feeling when you can’t really talk to anyone about being pregnant this early on so it would be great to be in this thread and enjoy the journey with you all

Sexnotgender · 01/08/2020 07:47

I’ve got a massive age gap! My oldest daughter is 16 and my son is 18 months 😂

Sorry I don’t know how to reply on my phone 🤣🤣

PeachesAndHoney · 01/08/2020 09:52

My Dd will be almost 5 when this baby arrives and my friends all seem to have moved beyond the newborn phase, so it is nice to have other people here with bigger age gaps.

Crazybat I hope you're able to get at least financial support from this baby's dad. And as others have said, at least you know his true colours now.

How is everyone feeling today? I'm five weeks today I think and have woken up feeling quite dizzy. We're off on holiday for a week so I'm hoping that the sickness doesn't kick in until after that.

I wondered if it might be interesting to include some stats so we can all keep track of where we are. I can go first.
