@babydust2412 Ah I'm 24 weeks today and I have my 25 week appointment next week so might find out when I'm due a health visitor visit

OnNaturesCourse · 03/11/2020 18:15

@Muriel84

It’s weird sometimes I feel huge but most the time at the moment I don’t really notice my bump. I guess that will change in the next few weeks! I know what you mean *@babydust2412* stuff is starting to feel very real. I have one week left off the second trimester 😱 I just think the next few weeks are going to fly by then it’ll be Christmas.

@IamC I have issues with my uterus shape and placenta position as it was still low at my last scan at 23 weeks. I’m being scanned at 34 weeks to see where it’s at. I get a little worried my bump is a bit lopsided. It implanted in the left horn of my uterus and it just feels like the baby and placenta are all that side. X x x

@Muriel84 oh, I've never heard of that - the shape that is. Do you think that's causing your bump to be lopsided?

Mine is tilted quite far back and usually takes a while to move forward in pregnancy. My bump with my daughter always swinging to right, especially at night. I have pictures where my left side looks flat and my right is massive, it was really weird. This time round bump is more even, but does stick out on thr right side at night when I lie down. Both babies were implanted on my right side.

Anyone joined any baby clubs for freebies? Samples/vouchers etc?
Could you recommend any to me to join Xx

Char41zam · 03/11/2020 23:18

@Safxxx I joined Emma’s diary, I got vouchers the other day for money off fairy and pampers you can also collect sample packs from either boots or Argos I have yet to do that x

babydust2412 · 04/11/2020 09:47

@Safxxx I joined Emma's diary and bounty, also boots parenting club sometimes gives you money off, extra points and freebies xx
@OnNaturesCourse me too, 27 weeks today so next week it's 3rd trimester time, the home stretch really. This has all gone so fast and you're right it'll be Christmas soon and that will only make it go faster! 💙💙

I lost this thread, so haven't been on in a while! Finally found it again!

I'm now 25 + 2 weeks! Feeling baby move regularly now, even with an anterior placenta! They are enjoying kicking my ribs while punching my bladder today!

How much have people got sorted in terms of baby stuff and room? I don't know if I should finish getting everything bought, or wait in case people offer to buy stuff (I know my mum has).

I've also got my 4d scan booked for the 20th of December, when I'll be almost 33 weeks! I can't wait, and think it'll be lovely to show our two DDs (9 and 6)!

Muriel84 · 04/11/2020 11:47

@OnNaturesCourse oh that’s reassuring! I just assumed my bump was weird because my uterus is subseptate! My uterus is also retroverted. Just feels like everything’s on the left the whole time.

This morning I think I have piles! There’s something going on down there anyhow... I’ve never had them before. It’s so gross but doesn’t hurt. Been so careful to keep things moving daily. The GP has prescribed sudocream?! As if that will do anything! Has anyone else had them? Will they go?! I feel so gross. 😖 xxx

babydust2412 · 04/11/2020 14:08

@Muriel84 I also have a retroverted uterus 💙
I've heard piles are often very normal during pregnancy, I'm sure they will go. Don't worry too much about it all part of the fun for some I suppose 😂💙 xx

@Muriel84 I have piles but have had them before when I had my other kids and they never really went away, doesn’t help that I am very constipated and I have had good practice for giving birth lol

OnNaturesCourse · 04/11/2020 20:38

I had piles like that / still do.

No pain from them but I felt constant pressure, and there was some blood when I wiped after a cough tough movement (I've been constipated since before falling pregnant!)

I ordered Germoloids Hemorrhoid Treatment & Piles Treatment Suppositories, plus the cream. Used both on Monday night, and by Tuesday morning the pressure had gone. I'm still using them but more as a precaution until I start going to the loo more easy (I have lactulose plus a fibre supplement on the go this week)

Safxxx · 04/11/2020 22:03

I usually get piles after birth, and it's quite painful.....not nice specialy when your already sore from after birth, and dealing with piles too.... over the counter creams do help numb the pain and shrink them.

Muriel84 · 05/11/2020 10:45

Thank you everyone! I feel better knowing I’m not alone with this and also thanks for the advice! I will try cream and suppositories. I think things have just swollen up in general around there... so weird! The things no one warns you about... 😱 x x x

Char41zam · 05/11/2020 12:33

Hey ladies, how are we all today? Just back from the hospital from my 4 weekly appointment had a growth scan today and little lady is weighing 1lb 10oz so basically normal rate for 25 weeks but just slightly smaller but never the less growing good! I seen her face today as she only had her back to us at our 20 week scan, she has a lovely little button nose and pouty lips lol she was also putting her finger up! So next appointment is the 3rd of December so 4 weeks today and I will be approaching 30 weeks!! Time is flying in x

Safxxx · 05/11/2020 12:59

@Char41zam Awe that's great baby is doing well....and you got to see her properly too 😍

Char41zam · 05/11/2020 13:13

babydust2412 · 05/11/2020 16:11

@Char41zam aw that’s so lovely! I can’t believe December is so soon... x x x

elfran · 06/11/2020 09:17

Awww that's so great you got to see her @Char41zam 😍

I'm 25 weeks today, still feeling more or less ok but I'm exhausted by early evening and my feet hurt sooo much by the end of the day! Just tired of holding me and bump up, I imagine.

Hard to believe I'm nearing the end of the second trimester and trying not to think of everything that needs to be done! Finally decided on travel system, crib and bedside cot, still utterly confused about grobags and swaddles.

Muriel84 · 06/11/2020 09:42

@elfran I am also baffled about grobags and sleep bags etc. And blankets. I’d like to try the next-to-me if we have space for it next to the bed. Otherwise babs will be in a Moses basket. Need to get a new mattress etc as we’re being lent one.

If anyone has any advice about sleep bags please share! X x x

Safxxx · 06/11/2020 10:04

@Muriel84
@elfran
I've got 3 kids already and I used gro bags on all 3 of them... I started using then after 6wks ... I bought the lighter Tog ones 0-6mths then bought 6-12 mths....i think their brilliant and keep them warm... mine would wriggle and kick, their blankets wouldn't stay put, in the sleeping bag they got enough space to wriggle around and stay tucked in. Arms are free so their not restrained and are very safe... the lighter to togs are Good, on colder days I would put a extra blanket over and in summer it's fine.
I've not tried swaddling, but few times my sis would swaddle my little ones in their blankets and I found they settled better...i will get a swaddling blanket this time and use it from birth...later will switch to gro bag. Xx

Char41zam · 06/11/2020 11:15

I have a grow bag to try a Winnie the Pooh one and I also have blankets, I have a next to me crib and have just enough space to have it next to the bed x
