@DressingGown87 Ahh why did the Pharmacist say no to Gaviscon?! I take it literally every day 🤦‍♀️

WaveStreet · 30/06/2020 18:33

@DressingGown87 we have a name but use a nickname so the real one doesn't slip out when we're around anyone else. I'm sure you won't, but if you use her name and go off it maybe it's done you a favour going off it before she's born!

I'm not sure how i feel about talking to bump, i haven't really done it yet, feels a bit weird.

DressingGown87 · 30/06/2020 18:37

@Kitkatkit Something to do with magnesium content. But the MW said ignore, as it is safe.

@FirstSurprise001 That made me laugh about the dog walk. My neighbor talks to his cat, and one sunny day I was sunbathing in the garden (can't see me there is a large fence), but he said you enjoying the sun there fatty! I was gobsmacked, until I realised it was to the cat! Will start talking to her.

Thanks for all the replies will add bum, hips and thighs to the list! Hopefully my neck and ankles don't stretch!

@DressingGown87 @FirstSurprise001 I talk to my bump.
Especially in a morning when I do yoga and meditation then I do positive affirmations for me and bump.
I sing little songs too, just when they come in to my head.

1990shopefulftm · 30/06/2020 20:03

@DressingGown87 yes I talk to bump with his name, not bothered if anyone hears :)
@Mc3209 what kind of music are you playing?

Mc3209 · 30/06/2020 20:33

@1990shopefulftm I play Bach/Telemann alternating with lullabies in the hope that when the baby is born he will recognise it and it will soothe him as a familiar sound (and I am trying to choose something I can tolerate when it's played on repeat).

Mc3209 · 30/06/2020 21:32

On the topic of lotions/potions/preventative measures, I've started wearing compression stockings around the house (they are not the most glamorous things, so I haven't actually worn them outside as they don't really go with the summer weather) but very good at battling end of the day leg swelling and good varicose vein prevention. Highly recommend.

Flora20 · 01/07/2020 16:28

Aargh I've been so stupid today... Was saving myself approx 10 seconds climbing over the child gate into the kitchen (as always) while carrying a bucket of water from the fish tank. Caught my foot and had to twist strangely to avoid emptying a bucket of dirty water all over the floor, pulling the muscles at the bottom of my bump/in my pelvis and leaving me hobbling about in pain ever since 😭 really hoping that it'll sort itself out with a bit of rest because it's horrible! Feel like such an idiot... Be careful ladies!

LadyB90 · 01/07/2020 16:45

@DressingGown87
I talk to my bump quite a lot (when no ones around) but I don't use her name as I don't want to tell people what I've chosen incase they put me off and I'm worried I'll accidentally say it i keep using it haha, so I just call her baby girl.

1990shopefulftm · 01/07/2020 16:58

@Flora20 hope you re okay, get an ice pack on it maybe?

Glooorb · 01/07/2020 17:20

Ouch @Flora20 that sounds painful! Hope you rest well!

Is anyone’s little one also doing somersaults in their tummy? My little boy is so energetic and I can feel him throughout the day (I love it so certainly not a complaint!!) his punches and kicks are getting quite forceful now though - can’t imagine the aches and pains I’m going to get when he gets bigger!

Mc3209 · 01/07/2020 18:49

@Flora20 I keep fishies too! So I know the bucket of water walk all too well. What do you keep? I've got 4 tanks going at the moment (one of which is a hospital tank though).
Hope your foot is ok, rest and elevate with icepack for a few days.

If you have big volume tanks I highly recommend Python system, made my life so much easier, I don't think I could have done the water changes with the buckets with the belly. Smaller tanks are actually better with the bucket though.

Clalou83 · 01/07/2020 18:52

I felt mine alit last night. Near my ribs, opp my belly button and at the bottom of my bump in the left first. Must have been stretched out.

I was in absolute hysterics it was just constant next to my ribs almost a tickley / tingly feeling.

I laughed that missing I was crying and got really emotional. So then decided right control yourself - I did some breathing exercises.

So comforting to get and feel those kicks. Just not been strong enough for partner to feel yet. Or if they are he's missed them, as they catch you by surprise so no time to say look.

Clalou83 · 01/07/2020 18:55

@Flora20 Take care. Could you not pass this job onto someone else? Wink

SamK93 · 01/07/2020 19:11

Ohh noo hope your okay @Flora20 I think we have to do just do the ten extra seconds of opening and closing the gate now just to be careful as we're getting bigger and need to be safer x

1990shopefulftm · 01/07/2020 19:19

@Glooorb my baby's moving a bit more now but still more fluttery rather than kicks I can feel on the outside.
I've got an anterior placenta but I m hoping it won't be too much longer of a wait for DH to be able to feel him move.

Mc3209 · 01/07/2020 19:32

@Flora20 I am not sure where I got that you hurt your foot from (I blame pregnancy brain). Hopefully things will settle with some rest.

@Glooorb I am feeling the beastie a lot more too, stronger kicks, and I can actually see my belly move from the outside. It's a great feeling.

Flora20 · 01/07/2020 19:34

@1990shopefulftm My foot's ok now, the sorest bits are in my groin and pelvis so went for a bath rather than an icepack!

@SamK93 I've totally learned my lesson. It was a stupid thing to do at any time but far more so at the moment! Definitely going to take my time a bit more now...

@Mc3209 Recently downsized so only one 20g now, with honey gourami, harlequins, a few chili rasbora and bronze cories. And unknown numbers of shrimp 😁 4 tanks would be amazing... What have you got?

The past week it's like my baby's doing acrobatics, it's insane! Was lying in the bath watching them turn somersaults, it's a bit weird 😂

Mc3209 · 01/07/2020 19:52

@Flora20 your tank sounds very cool! I have one with 3 fancy goldfish and 2 nerites, another one with neons and male guppies, was going to add ghost shrimp to that one, but then lockdown happened, and 3rd one is a small 20litre one with a male betta. 4th is a hospital tank at the moment as one of the goldies had some weirdness on his tail (resistant fin rot type of thing, which is thankfully almost gone now) so hopefully he will be going into main tank soon.

SJR86 · 01/07/2020 19:56

@1990shopefulftm I've got a high anterior placenta too, so only feeling occasional flutters really low down and more so in the evenings. I can't wait to feel proper jabs and kicks!

When do we need to start tracking patterns of movement? I still have some days where I don't feel much movement at all - putting this down to the placenta and the fact that we know baby is on the small side.

1990shopefulftm · 01/07/2020 20:06

@SJR86 I feel more in the evenings, i think it's because you can be less busy later in the today.
I m taking it to be as long as it's not decreasing movements it's a good sign, I think it's gradually supposed to be more of a pattern.

Mc3209 · 01/07/2020 20:13

@SJR86 I think officially it's monitoring the movement from 24 weeks, and baby should start developing a pattern around 28 weeks, but as with any pregnancy thing, if in doubt call a midwife. That's what I am going by.

BS9790 · 01/07/2020 20:54

I feel jabs/kicks, which my hubby has felt too. They're hit and miss, some days lots and some days maybe 1 or 2. I have a high anterior placenta. I spoke to my midwife when I saw her and she said it was normal not to feel anything some days at this stage (22wk) and said because of placenta I might have days I don't feel anything all the way through pregnancy.

But I don't feel any flutters or other type of movements, never have! Just the jabs!

SamK93 · 01/07/2020 21:29

Right well somebody needs to tell me off, I had my dinner at 7 and it just didn't fill me up. I'm always hungry I don't know why!! my craving for salty stuff hasn't gone, I promised myself I'd only have a few as its a big packet but I've gone through the whole bag. Someone help 😭😭
