@SamK93 you are in a right place, they will look after you and your little chap. I've got everything crossed for you. Good luck! Lots of hugs your way xx

Glooorb · 25/06/2020 13:22

@Elizag20 oh I am so sorry. I hope that you can have some time to sit down, take a deep breath and think deeply about your decision re BPAS, with clarity. I can’t imagine what it must be like for you - it must be so so tough. Is there someone from BPAS, or someone you know and trust, that you can talk to in the meantime?

@SamK93 I hope everything is well at your appointment and your little guy is doing good!

SJR86 · 25/06/2020 13:31

@SamK93 hope it went ok, been thinking of you this morning.

Flora20 · 25/06/2020 13:58

@SamK93 Hope the appointment went well today

@Elizag20 Oh I'm so sorry that you're in this position suddenly. Is there a counselor you could contact through your midwife that you can speak to today or tomorrow? Lots of women do this on their own, I'm sure there'll be a Facebook group that you could get some more advice from too? X

AdventureAhead · 25/06/2020 16:01

Just catching up on this thread!

@Elizag20 That's a big change to get your head around. I really hope you've got the support that you need- friends, family and professionals. Use them all!

@SamK93 I hope your appointment went well.

Loving the bump pics. I think mine is still quite small but the scales tell me I've put on quite a bit of weight!
Is anyone else struggling in this heat?!

1990shopefulftm · 25/06/2020 16:06

@AdventureAhead yes this heat is horrendous, been relying on a fan and cold flannel.

Clalou83 · 25/06/2020 16:09

No but only because I have a pool and a really good dyson fan. Feet swell in the eve and morning but I do yoga and use spiky massage ball on them, works a treat.

@AdventureAhead Properly struggling! I suddenly feel so upset and frustrated this afternoon, overtired, irritable and just like I want to cry because I'm so uncomfortable!
Currently sat in front of a fan in a thin dress with an ice lolly in hand... so bizarre as I haven't felt overly emotional or anything so far, and right now I feel like I'm having a wobble!

KitKatKit · 25/06/2020 16:27

@SamK93 thinking of you and hoping your appointment went well.

@Elizag20 Sounds like a totally crap situation, just know that you're never alone, and should you wish to, you can totally do this parenting thing solo. Us women are made of some seriously strong stuff. We are all here for you Flowers

Clalou83 · 25/06/2020 16:43

@KitKatKit Take care lovely and know that this will pass. I felt like this this morning, emotional so had some time with bump spoke to them, positive affirmations etc.... felt them move which made me feel better. Everyday is different like you say we are strong, take big breaths and tell yourself it's ok you got this.

KitKatKit · 25/06/2020 17:12

@Clalou83 Thank you so much that means a lot. Wish I had your pool though, that's a genius idea!

Mc3209 · 25/06/2020 17:48

Is anyone thinking of getting a pregnancy seatbelt for the car? I find that as my bump is quite low, the lower part of the seatbelt still rests on my lower belly as opposed to my lap. Was thinking of getting that pregnancy seat belt adjustment that fixes the lower part of the belt over the thighs and between the legs. I haven't been driving much due to coronavirus, but now I am starting to think I might need to invest in one.
Am I overthinking it?

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 25/06/2020 17:56

@Mc3209 not if it gives you piece of mind, probably fairly cheap on Amazon. Mine tucks under my bump so not really an issue for me

LadyB90 · 25/06/2020 18:16

@Mc3209
I had a brief look at them but quite a lot that bring the seat belt right down don't seem to be safety regulated yet so I was a bit dubious about getting one.

SamK93 · 25/06/2020 18:21

Hi ladies, thank you so much for all your messages. The nuchal fold was measuring at 6.8mm, so there hasn't been an increase. The consultant looked in depth at the baby brain, bowels, limbs etc all seemed normal and fine how they should be. He looked into other Down syndrome markers, for example the nasal bone which down syndrome baby's don't have, he had. Although the nuchal fold is slightly more than it should be as it shouldn't be more than 6 which is one of the indicators for downs he was happy everything else with baby so he said with my age too it's unlikely it is downs but there's always that chance obviously which I understand. He did ask if I wanted to take further tests, I asked his personal opinion he said it's up to me but he's happy with how baby is looking, and to be honest I think that's more than enough for me. I've attached the report if anyone has any advice for me.

My son was a chunky baby, it might just be that his little brother is going to be chunky too?! I've had time to process everything and everything seemed reassuring to me, either way whatever the outcome is I think I'll be fine with it.

Clalou83 · 25/06/2020 18:31

@SamK93 Sounds very positive, I bet it was reassuring having someone look so in depth at your baby.
Glad it was positive for you x x

SamK93 · 25/06/2020 18:40

Thank you @Clalou83 loved your pool pic x

SJR86 · 25/06/2020 19:29

@SamK93 that's great news!

Sls668 · 25/06/2020 19:43

@SamK93 Glad everything went well 😊

roarfeckingroar · 25/06/2020 20:26

That sounds really tough. Please do think about this carefully and don't make a rash decision so far into a pregnancy when you're very upset..

60sPony · 25/06/2020 21:26

Sounds really positive @SamK93
Did they mention the harmony test to you at all? It is a non invasive test but I think it is only available privately.

DressingGown87 · 25/06/2020 22:01

@Clalou83 We have the same pool! It's been a godsend in this heat, although I've just been stood in mine!

@AdventureAhead Yes, although I do have a pool and fan which helps lots. I've found I sweat in places, I didn't think you would sweat!

@SamK93 Glad your appointment went well today, and it all seemed positive. Hope your feeling a bit more at ease and can breath a bit more?

So I had my weekly midwife app today. Explained my concerns about the movements not being as frequent or strong. She felt bump and said it feels like she is facing the back, which means a lot of the movements / kicks wont be felt as much. But explains the twinges and aches I'm getting in my back! But her heartbeat is strong and she was kicking and moving lots on the doppler, which I couldn't feel.

Has / Is anyone booked a 4d scan?

Thank you so much everyone I really appreciate it.

@60sPony he mentioned the NIPT test which is the blood test x

SamK93 · 25/06/2020 22:29

@DressingGown87 he gave me a little sneak peak of him at the end and free print of it! Which was really nice x
